O all of you draftniks now that the combine is over lets see your top 10.

Mine

1. Greg Robinson - best athlete in draft best football is ahead of him
2.Jadeveon Cloweny- 2nd best, great football ahead of him too
3. Sammy Watkins- most explosive player in draft. Great Hands
4. Jake Matthews- Can play anywhere on OL, 10 yr all pro OG/C
5. Khalil Mack- best pass rushing LB in draft
6. Blake Bortles- Prototypical H/W/Arm for franchise QB, Very raw
7. Zack Martin- Another multiple time pro bowl candidate
8. Teddy Brigewater- Student of the game, great accuracy on short intermediate balls. Struggles with deep ball, long delivery, not prototypical size.
9. Mike Evans- Size/strength/adequate speed/ needs to learn route tree/great hands. Dez Bryant/Josh Gordon type ability. Avg speed for a big man.
10. C.J. Mosely- best player in draft at undervalued position.

I don't think JM's game translates to the NFL. Barr is just not strong enough although he could get stronger I suppose. Lewan just missed my top 10 but if I needed an OT I would take him. Ebron probably deserves a spot in top 10 but I couldn't find a spot for him.

Lets see y'alls top 10.

Not a draftnik by any means but here is my personal top 10.

Probably more Texans-centric than pure talent evaluation and through my quite slanted view of what a player should look like.

1. Teddy Bridgewater - Just think he has 'it'. Has the mental ability to win in the NFL.
2. Blake Bortles - Swing for the fences prospect in reality. Seems to have a certain amount of 'it' too.
3. Greg Robinson - Can't go too wrong with building from the trenches.
4. Khalil Mack - Love his versatility and well rounded game.
5. Jadeveon Clowney - Lots of red-flags but you just never know. Another swing for the fences prospect.
6. Jake Matthews - Can fill any spot in the OLine for the next 12 years.
7. Sammy Watkins - Can't go wrong getting a playmaker.
8. Kony Ealy - Might be the best pass rusher in the draft.
9. CJ Mosley - Going to be a good solid pro for a long time.
10. Johnny Manziel - Another with red flags for me but you gotta swing.

Near Misses: Hasean Clinton-Dix, Aaron Donald, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Louis Nix, Timmy Jernigan, Zack Martin

I will just throw this out there too. No words needed. I sound off in each member's own thread more than enough:

1. Jadeveon Clowney
2. Greg Robinson
3. Teddy Bridgewater
4. Khalil Mack
5. Jake Matthews
6. Sammy Watkins
7. Anthony Barr
8. Blake Bortles
9. Taylor Lewan
10. Eric Ebron

I need to find out more about what's the deal w/ Mosely otherwise he'd mix this up a little bit more toward the bottomish likely bumping Lewan or Ebron down a slot, once I find out more I'll know which spot.

If you know enough to make a top 10 draft list...you might be a draftnik.

Are we saying who's your favorite 10 players? Or who do you think is most likely to go in the top 10? I'll go with the latter.

1. Clowney - Maybe not 1. But he's easily top 5.
2. Bridgewater - Not buying the smoke that Bridgewater is overrated.
3. Manziel - Love him or hate him, JFF is going in the top 5.
4. Bortles - He's big, strong, and a QB. That makes him a top 10 pick.
5. Robinson - A freaky athletic LT. Those guys go top 10.
6. Watkins - If you like Percy Harvin, you'll love this guy.
7. Matthews - Just the last name alone guarantees a top 10 selection.
8. Mack - After Clowney, the next defender off the board.
9. Lewan - Could end up the best LT in the draft.
10. Evans - A freak that actually could be the first WR off the board.

None of the "top 3" QBs excite me enough at 1-1. I'm leaning toward the best QB available at 3-1 bandwagon.

I don't see any hate regarding Barr. He might be #11 on a lot of lists. Barr himself admits that he needs to get stronger at the point of attack. By 2015 or 2016. Barr could very well be one of the top 10 players in this draft. But, that's a year or 2 of not having an every down player. That's the difference between Barr and the other non-QBs on my list.

Yeah, I'm not sure that Barr is a great football player right now. Don't want a project with my first pick. I want a day one starter.

After the season Barr was an every down player and in talks for the #1 overall pick.

I always had him around #4 with room for Robinson to pass him by. Well Robinson did pass him by, I clearly misjudged Watkins if everyone thinks he can be potential #1 overall, and I wasn't nearly aware of Mack like I should have been.

My thing is, I get moving him down, things happen, but I want to know what people's rationale in moving guys completely out of the top 10 when they were previously 'arguably' #1 overall.

I'm not saying this is wrong, but when I respect opinions, I just want to know why these big move shakeups happen.

Not necessarily low on him. I have him at #11. Barr is a great athlete with a lot of room to get better. I would have no issue with a team taking him top ten as long as they understand that they are getting a raw product that will need to be developed. Before, I had him rated above other guys based on his potential and because I was holding back other guys that I thought had question marks. Most of those questions have been answered by this point so I was able to move those other guys up to where I think they truly belong.

His college production was excellent but he was overly reliant on being a better athlete than the guy across from him. He won't have that nearly as much in the NFL. If he pans out you have a stud, but there is risk there.

-Robinson has answered all questions about his athletic ability and thus looks like a lock to be a franchise LT.

-Clowney is the physical specimen I thought he was and I haven't heard about any teams red flagging his physical.

-Watkins is the unquestioned top skill player in the draft.

- Matthews answered questions I had about his athleticism and I am now projecting him back to LT after projecting him at OG earlier.

Mack is a better athlete than Barr and more polished.

Bridgewater is the QB in this class who I think has the best shot at being a franchise player.

Martin has continued to impress in everything he does since the season ended.

Lewan answered questions about his athleticism, which was the only thing holding me back from ranking him highly.

Moseley is a stud. He will be a productive player from the start.

Ealy looks better than Clowney to me on film. People are going to freak out about that, but that's just what I see. He's a more complete player, just not quite the athlete.

That actually makes three of us (at least, I think TPN is in this group also).
I've been in this group for a long time now. Although, I'm not sure I'd be willing to wait until the 3rd to pick the QB. There should be plenty to choose from with the 1st pick of day 2.

I struggled with not putting Barr and Dennard in my top ten. I seriously considered putting them in and leaving off Bridgewater and Manziel. Ultimately they were just not as good of prospects as the guys I put down. Just my opinion. Barrs lack of pass rush moves and inability to disengage is what dropped him o. My list. Mosley was also a hard one to leave off.

There will be plenty to choose from.

It's like going to the Kia Dealership and looking around at the endless rows and rows and possibilities of cars. You're like holy S! I don't need a F'ing Honda, this is a way better price and I get just as much car! Idiot suckers.

4 years later you've been late to work so many times, you get scared and are watching the engine heat thermostat everywhere you drive, you've spent well over enough in repairs to afford that Honda you denied yourself, but most importantly you hate yourself for the 'genius' decision you made 4 years ago.

Just because there are plenty to choose from in all those rows, doesn't mean that everything in that lot isn't a P.O.S.

FYI: I was the genius who bought a Kia while in college about 8 years ago. The day I got in a wreck and it was a totaled was the happiest day I had in a long time. The guy asks me if I'm OK as he sees me crying. All I can say... "thank you".

It's better to get the better deal (2nd round) on the Kia rather than overpaying (1st round) for the same car, no? Ok, Ok, maybe a Kia Optima vs the Kia Cadenza

I also like Gilbert more than Dennard, but in regards to long term. I think year 3 he can start to pull away as the better corner, but I believe Dennard is good to go right out of the gate.

Donald is the #1 in sacks per game 1.6 and #1 in Tackles for Loss per game 2.6. Now imagine if you will if Donald was 300 lbs or 265 lbs and not 285. Now consider this, JJ Watt weighed in 5 lbs heavier than Donald and Donald is stronger and faster than Watt. All in Perspective.

The more I think about it maybe Donald should be #1. If Donald is Watt then yeah, Donald should be #1, no questions asked, no looking in the rear view mirror....Thanks FTW

Watt weighed in at 290 according to http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=76434&draftyear=2011&genpos=DE

Regardless, Donald is a heck of a talent. No doubt about that.

Watt weighed in at 290, Donald weighed in at 285, therefore Watt weighed in 5 lbs heavier than Donald. Watt had 34 reps and Donald had 35 reps. Watt ran a 4.81 and Donald ran a 4.68. Watt is 6'5" and Donald is 6'0".
Yep, I had a brainfart. I was thinking Donald weighed in at 275 for some reason.

Wow.... big jump for Aaron Donald. He seems to be getting a lot of love lately. He definitely had a good combine, & his college production is pretty sweet. But it's highly unlikely he'll be the next John Randle.

I think if everything goes right, & that includes being in the right system, he's the next Antonio Smith. It is more than likely he'll be a faceless DT who doesn't get the credit he deserves like all the good DTs in the NFL, unless they stomp on someone's head after their helmet comes off.

Donald is gonna be good in the NFL, but I don't believe he will ever be top 10 good.

I will just never get behind guys who jump 20+ spots after the combine. No matter how you look at it, this is what happened.

In that, as well as his size, Donald reminds of Amobi Okoye.

Oops....
I think that may be where the similarity ends. I hated the Okoye pick as soon as it was rumored and may have been the most outspoken person on the board about it. I remember Okoye's situation well.

Okoye was an okay college player who had a good final season with 12 TFL and 8 sacks. That was pretty much the only production he had his whole career. He did help himself at the Senior Bowl and Combine just like Donald.

But Donald has the college production to back it up. The guy had 63 TFL, 28 sacks, and 6 FF in three years as a starter at DT. The guy dominated everyone that lined up across from him in games, that's not something that Okoye did. If Okoye had been older than 19 he would have been a second round pick, IMO.

I don't think Donald fits what the Texans will probably be on defense, but I do think he will be a very good pro.

Donald led the nation in Sacks per game 1.6 and Tackles for Loss 2.6, Okoye's production was a little better than average. Texans drafted Okoye because he was only 19 years old. POTENTIAL! POTENTIAL! POTENTIAL! Smubiak expected him to get BIGGER, stronger and faster. They didn't realize he was already a grown man and "what you see is what you got. For the Texans, that ceiling was SKY HIGH!
