So who you watching?

This Bengals/Patriots game... not a lot of points, but a good game none the less. Them Bengals are a very talented team. Nothing against Dalton, but he's just good enough to make it difficult to replace. Hopefully for the Bengals, he continues to get better.

Colts about to beat the Seahawks. That's going to be the tie-breaker.

Our game tonight just became a must win to keep the common opponent tie-breaker in check.

Colts caught the niners at the perfect time. And they got Seattle at home for the 2nd of back to back 10 AM starts on the road, and we know they are not exactly world beaters on the road. We should have handled Seattle at home to keep pace but we didn't.

Yes, this game tonight is ultra important as will every single game be from here on out. Its a fight to the death, and we ain't dead yet.

Matt Schaub is still our quarterback right...

Keep wishing upon a star but the Colts are a better team this year. Our only hope is a wildcard spot.

Seattle & SanFran were two of the biggest obstacles to 10 wins for both teams..... Indy came through smelling like a rose. At best we'll be 1-1.

San Diego, Denver, St Louis, Arizona, & KC are the remaining common opponents outside our division. A win by San Diego next week would help us out quite a bit, since Seattle is an NFC team.

We lost to Baltimore. Indy losing to Cinci would help us.

They lost to Miami. We win against New England would help us as well.

It's a long season, but right now those Indy wins vs San Fran & Seattle... pisses me off.

And when I posted that last weeks loss could have tie-breaker implications, someone responded (don't remember who) there was no way this could happen.

While watching the NE game, there was strong rush on Brady, but he just stepped up or to the side one or two steps, and avoided the sacks.

Watching the Cowboys Broncos game, Romo has been under unusual pressure and has either managed to side step or run away from the rush to avoid sacks.

Very discouraging knowing what to expect this evening.

The Patriots scored 6 points. They failed to score a TD in 4 qtrs. We can't be using Brady's ability to avoid a pass rush as a "Schaub can't do this" example right now.

It was good to see New England lose despite the Cincinnati defense giving them every opportunity on that last drive to come back. Dan Dierdorf essentially blamed the rain on the loss and Brady's inability to tie it in the end. Forget that Brady's offense had only 6 points going into that drive.

As a Texan it was good to see that at least one had to lose or there be a tie. But in truth, NE will take their division so Houston's wild card competition was Cincy. Oh, well. Satan lost.....good times.

You're probably right! But every play I see (including the one just a minute ago) where Romo avoids the rush and finds his man, is making me a little ill.

The Rain started when Brady stepped on the field. Stopped when he was relegated to the bench.

My wife thinks they're cursed for cutting Tim Tebow.

Except Schaub did plenty of that against Seattle. Not enough, not when it counted.

But San Diego, Tennessee, Baltimore, Schaub's been pretty active in the pocket this year & winning some of those battles. Just like Brady got sacked a few times, just like Romo got sacked on third & goal... it happens to everyonoe.

Maybe more often than not to Schaub.... maybe.

Matt Schaub is still our quarterback right...

Yes. Must be nice to lose tremendously at the perfect time to land Manning and Luck like the colts have.

Schaub is our guy unfortunately, but the great ones certainly don't grow on trees either. We just have to win a different way, but we knew that. And its only going to happen if our O-line dominates, and we can get to the QB consistently and from the OLB position.

Schaub did plenty of that against Seattle? No he didn't.

Who are you watching?

Trying to rationalize everyone getting sacked is ridiculous. Those qb's are more adept at avoiding pressure and then making a play. Not acknowledging that is just burying your head in the sand.

Wasn't that something? Ironically, during much of the 4th quarter I was thinking a lot on how NE would pull in out because they'd obviously done a deal with the devil at some point a few years back (see Colts also).

After the game I thought, "Hmmm, maybe the Devil's contract expired?"

And when I posted that last weeks loss could have tie-breaker implications, someone responded (don't remember who) there was no way this could happen.

Because it's true: If the Colts & Texans are tied for first in the AFC south at the end of the season it's actually a good thing the Colts will be better against the NFC since it's the last tiebreaker. Head-to-head, Win/Loss vs. teams inside the Division, W/L vs. the AFC will all come before W/L against the NFC.

Yes he did. We just like to focus on the negative.

Not today Brady wasn't. 4 sacks, no TDs, 1 INT, 1 of 12 on 3rd down, 47% passing and under 200 yds. Brady had a bad day including making plays when pressured.

Watching the Broncos/Cowboys is tough. Both those teams have QB's I'd take over Schaub in an instant and one of them was actually available.

I see what Cloak sees and think thunderkyss is watching 2009 Texans highlights. Schaub's a sloth. Romo extends plays while Schaub profoundly shrinks your playbook because you can't ask him to do things he's incapable of doing. That pile of things he can't do seems to get bigger every couple of years. It's time to walk away but we won't until it's long overdue and a few more years are lost for other players.

Even in 2009 Schaub wasn't much more than a sloth, maybe a little. As far as the shrinking playbook..... everything we're talking about these QBs doing that Schaub can't are things outside of the playbook. We're talking about what happens when the play breaks down.

Schaub's biggest problem is that his idea of risky is way to conservative. & when he finally decides to "give someone a chance" it's at the wrong time. Right now a CB & a Safety on top tells Schaub not to throw the ball at AJ. One on one with Richard Sherman & he's throwing at him all day long. After half time, they put some scrub on Andre with safety help & Schaub didn't challenge it.

That's got to change.

Romo extends plays ...

Romo is the definition of bad pocket presence. Yes he is much more athletic but he is an idiot about when to do it and how. Sometimes the athleticism wins out but more often it results in something bad. He had a solid 8 seconds on one play today and ends up taking a 15 yd sack.

What happened to winning is what counts? Since 2009 Romo has 19 wins. Schaub has 27.

Would definitely take Manning over Schaub any year, day, week, hour, minute.

As for Romo...No, not at all. He throws horrible INTs as well.

Well Romo just put a 40 burger on the Broncos. When's the last time Schaub even put 30 on the board? Romo going point for point with Manning.

Most Points, Both Teams, Game

113 Washington (72) vs. N.Y. Giants (41), Nov. 27, 1966
106 Cincinnati (58) vs. Cleveland (48), Nov. 28, 2004
101 Oakland (52) vs. Houston (49), Dec. 22, 1963

The Broncos defense sucks, but sadly for us their offense doesn't.

Demarcus Ware has had little effect on this game. Whoever that is playing LT for the Broncos & their RT.. is keeping Peyton clean (of course Peyton is helping them)... I don't know how we're going to get pressure on Peyton (something Mario was pretty good at).

The latter though is still a possible (maybe unlikely) scenario.

Last season Schaub put 31 on these Broncos.... well, a better Broncos defense than what we're seeing today.

We dropped 40 on Baltimore & Jacksonville last year as well.

Tony mother effin Romo.

The latter though is still a possible (maybe unlikely) scenario.

If they're tied and the Colts have the advantage against the NFC that would indicate that Houston would have some sort of advantage against the AFC. You always prefer the win but if you picked your losses non-conference games would be the choice in tiebreaker scenarios.

Maybe I'm behind but I just noticed that Oakland-SD will play at 10:35 Central tonight. Does anybody know why?

Heading home but Just like TO, Romo is my quarterback, I hate the pick but 48 points 500yds and 5 TD, he put up 48. D gave up 51. Manning threw a pick also.

More rationalizing. Great.

What does any of that have to do with Schaub being terrible?

I know, I know. He's not terrible. He throws for 4000 yards.

We dropped 40 on Baltimore & Jacksonville last year as well.

Are you including defensive/special teams making plays in your scores?

You're bad about that.

I seem to recall Joseph getting a pick six against the ravens.

Most likely... I didn't go & break down those games. Jjo did return one against Baltimore.

The Bengals break Brady's streak, which keeps Brees's record in tact was a nice, unexpected surprise.

Beating the Bears - on the road, in grass purposely kept long (causing a few stumbles and 5 different instances where we fell, slipped, or were tackled within a yard of a first down), against a physical Bears defense, in a place where Brees had never won and the Saints Defense kept them to 10 points until garbage time and they got another TD and 2 pt conversion.

All in all, a good week 5 for us.

Capper would be the Jets beating the Falcons tonight, but there is a zero percent change of that happening.

I'll take what I've got, though.

Uh-oh. Ray Lewis is on the sidelines doing the Jets-Falcons game in Atlanta. Keep the kids safe in the house and shut the windows at game's end!

Geno Smith with a fine game against the Falcons including a game winning field goal drive in the final 2 minutes. Kept a couple plays alive with his legs.
