So we're 12-2. I started another thread a when we were 10-1, asking how you thought we would do through the month of December.

Two games down, I just want to see how you think we've done so far & more importantly how you think we'll end the season.

We've clinched the division. We've clinched a bye week. The only thing left to play for is home field throughout (HFT).

We only need to win one game to do that. Doesn't matter which, this week against the Vikings or next week against the Colts. Personally I don't want to lose either. I'd love for this team to win the next two games & be 14-2 to end the season. I'd love for us to be 11-1 in the AFC.

I think it's going to happen because I think these guys have been playing for pride more than anything else. To be the best they can be. Laid major eggs against Green Bay & New England. I understand. But I think these last two games mean enough to our guys to pull off the win. Even week 17 where it might be Luck vs Yates in Indy.

So what about you? How do you think we will end the season? What does your gut tell you?
 
We're looking good, I've had dodgy internet connection ye last month or so but I've been lurking intently, I think the pats game was a mixture of a big game at the end of a tough stretch that broke us down somewhat. I think we meet them in the playoffs at reliant and its a different story. This team has beaten everyone it was supposed to this season and the number of injuries we've overcome has been pretty good. Big shuffle at ilb, lost the best of a weak position at nose, struggled for fitness in the secondary, job done. Can't get down on them
 
The Texans can still finish as the #3 seed if they lose against both Minnesota and Indianapolis and New England & Denver win-out. Win just one and Houston has HFA.
 
Win againist Vikings, and let starters rest against the Colts.

I wanna see more of Yates, Jean, Posey, Martin, Tate, Harris, Carmichael, Routt, Keo, and Mercilus in Colts game...

The Vikings are 2-5 on the road. I don't know much about them, other than AP can run all day, but we should beat a 2-5 road team in Houston. Then, the Indy game won't even matter.
 
I hope we don't rest starters in Indy. Ideal scenario:

Watt breaks all time sack record by destroying the NFLs new golden boy in Indianapolis on the final play of the game to keep Indy out of the playoffs.

But they just beat the Rams in St Louis by 2 TDs and the Rams were coming off of a 3-game winning streak which included a victory over San Fran. Plus the Vikings are still alive for a playoff berth, so this Sundays game in Reliant doesn't sound easy to me ?

Didn't even know that, and not saying it will be easy, but I think we win it one way or another.

Y'all know that I don't make a habit of correcting people. & HJam72, I'm not saying you need to be corrected.

I'm just using this post as an example to ask the question.

What would proper etiquette be here?​

We use initials all the time to talk about players. AJ, JJ, Kj, GQ, KDub.. How do I know that the poster in question (not that I question you Hj) isn't simply referring to the name Adrian Peterson.

I know it bothers some people to see Peterson referred to as AP & not All Day (AD) which is his proper nick name & they are compelled to inform their friend so as to save embarrassment in the future.

How would one know if their friend posted (spoke) in error then offer the information so as not to offend said friend?
 
He's the best RB in the NFL, but it's just silly to get all bothered just because someone calls him by his real initials, rather than some nickname. It's not like I called him something insulting.

I know that you are not just talking about me or trying to give me a hard time, but that's just how I feel.

Besides, AD (for All Day) is another of JJ Watt's nicknames. :) :jk:

So you're saying it's not a big deal & the person bothered by it (not me) should let it go?

Now in your situation, that's fine & I understand.

But what if it's someone who didn't know. You inform them. Then when they are watching the game with their significant other & she asks, "Why do they keep calling him AD? His name is Peterson isn't it?" then they can explain to their significant other.

Or, if his annoying brother-in-law comes over & he's expounding his football knowledge & calls him AP, then the guy you just informed can say, "It's AD you mental midget!!" if he was so inclined.

Not that anyone here would do anything like that, but just in-case.

He was called AD by his dad since he was a kid for being hyper-active.

I just googled that.
 
Calling someone a mental midget is far more an insult than anyone's choice of AD or AP. I don't see any reason to get upset over AP or AD.
