Another injury for The Texans

Texans DE Tim Jamison has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles' tendon, and is done for the season.

Jamison went down in a heap in Sunday night's loss, so the news isn't a surprise. Jamison is a reserve, but was signed to a two-year extension in September, and perhaps being groomed as a future starter. He'll finish 2012 with one tackle and three sacks. It's not a guarantee he'll be ready for next summer's camp, but that should be the case.

During the game, I posted that I was afraid that it was going to end up being an Achilles. He's a loss where we are already trying to post-injury adjust our D.

That should be 1 sack and 3 tackles.

It's a shame though, he was good depth. Time for Crick to step up.

Caldwell suffered a concussion too

He went out after the second drive.

Ben Jones took over and did OK in the run game, but not as good in pass pro.

I just finished watching the O-line play, and actually, the right side held up better than the left. O.D. and Casey also contributed to the poor running game. D. Brown didn't have a good game. Newton had a better time out there.

We had leaks pretty much everywhere in pass pro, and that included O.D. and Casey when they were blocking.

It was just painful to watch. :vincepalm:

As much as everyone wants to make Casey out to be a good FB, they need to remind themselves what a real FB looks like by watching Leach just blow up people whether on run blocking or pass protection.

Indeed. As much as I like Casey, the reason people bring up his versatility is that he's not special at any one thing.

I hope we consider picking up DJ Bryant if he's available. I believe he's on the Jets practice squad?

Well replacement found we will see what he gots.

The Texans will sign another defensive end, possibly David Hunter, an undrafted rookie from the University of Houston who is currently on their practice squad.

“We've got a young man on our practice squad who we think a lot of in Hunter, so that’s option number one, but we've got a couple days here to take a look," Kubiak said. "We only carry six guys on our team, so we’re very shorthanded defensive line-wise, but we’ll have to do something.”

D-line is bad as it is. JJ Watt is going to have to grow an extra arm or something.

Eff it!!! Every team experiences injuries... We'll face the Ravens this weekend without Lewis and Suggs.

I'm pretty sure they dont expect to use that as an excuse this weekend, no???

Looks like he's with Indy now on their roster.

Injuries are part of football. As far as the DLine goes Watt plays all 3 positions at the same time. That is why the Packers triple teamed Watt and the Texans front still couldn't get a pass rush.

True, other teams are suffering important player losses too. We'll be fine as long as the next man up grabs his opportunity and embraces it with both hands with the mentality that they might be his last snaps of the season!...zero complacency and 100% effort

From what I remember from CND's posts about DeMeco, a player that suffers an achilles rupture will reclaim only 80% of his explosiveness at best. Am I recalling this correctly?

Texans signed DE David Hunter off their practice squad.

Hunter, an undrafted rookie out of the University of Houston, will be depth after Tim Jamison (Achilles') landed on injured reserve.
