2012 TTalk Survival Football League!

It's that time again, so join up early and make your picks count! Last year's winner was Texans34Life, and well we can't let that happen again...

It's easy to play, all you have to do is pick one team that will win its matchup each week. No spreads are used, only total points, the catch is that you can't pick the same team twice throughout the year. This league is single elimination, which means one wrong pick and you are out.

The winner or winners - if people survive the whole season - will have bragging rights over the next year. Feel free to amend your signature and give yourself a virtual trophy if you win it all!

How to sign up:

In order to join the group, just go to Survival Football, and click the "Join a Group" button. From there, enter the following information:

Group ID#: 1255
Password: texanstalk

- Please do not invite non-board members to this league, I want to keep it in-house only.

In again! Hope I make it past week 6 this year...

I think I have lost Week 1 every time we did single elimination. :gun:

Long time no see TD!

You get 3 strikes, so don't worry too much.

Good. You put single strike in the original post. That generally means short season for me.

I Got the invite for this on Yahoo and realized it has been awhile since I visited. Its getting about that time again. :)

Oh, whoops. I copied the OP from the past year's thread. Last year was 3 strikes as well after some one suggested it. I assure you, there are 3 X's next to your name so you will be able to have a few screw ups. However, the winner will be the person with the least amount of strikes total, but if they are tied it will come down to who had the latest strikes.

I definitely would like to join, but in every pick em/survival league ive joined in the past several years, i usually forget to make my picks.

We(?) didn't let Texans34Life win last year, either. I won that league.

Do any of you do other types of survivor leagues? I'm in two other leagues that have their own set of rules. In one you have to pick a road team each week and the other you have to pick an underdog. Is anyone else in multiple leagues with a different set of rules?

What about wives that have x-number of years with us?

For some reason she can't get in with the 1255 group id.

I suppose spouses are fine, but the idea is to talk about it on the board. If someone who's not here wins, then they aren't really the TTalk champion... :)

Cool. She's having trouble getting in anyway. If nothing else she'll help me on my picks. I ask her which team and click the one she didn't mention. :D

IF she gets in she'll probably use the name weazel, fyi. :)

Thanks.

I used to play loser survivor. That's where you pick a team you think will lose instead of picking one to win. I haven't played it in a couple of years. It was never that popular.

Over at clutchfans there is a game called touchdown survivor. Instead of picking a team to win, you pick a player you think will score a touchdown.

The Seahawks just couldn't get their only win of the season... 4 plays on the 4 yard line and choked.... One strike for me.

I got burned by the Patriots, but honestly I was rooting for the Cardinals in that game anyways. Screw the Pats, Texans are going for the #1 seed in the AFC!!!

I thought i was golden with my Redskins pick too. But i'm glad i saved my Patriots pick for later on.

It was like I had schizophrenia during the Giants game (glad I started Eli in the battle red league)...but Eli pulled it out and I dogged a bullet.

I picked too many road dogs in my pick'em though. I knew I had too many road teams but I went with conventional thinking way too much....not gonna do that again. I seriously had the Seahawks beating the Cowboys because the Seachickens play so well up there...but I just got lost in the conventional thinking from the talking heads, picked the Cowboys and blew it.

The league changes from year to year so the early games can be quite tough. Right now there are about 3-4 teams that are just awful....Everyone else can beat anyone else, but the injuries and the cream will rise over the next few weeks so it will start to sort out in the coming weeks.

Wow, I suck at picking sure winners. Seattle in week 1 and Washington in week 2. If I pick a team they are guaranteed to lose.

I am officially eliminating myself this week and taking one for the Texans by picking Denver. :texflag:
