Ravens' very own website can stop from poking fun at Cundiff

Is there no safe place left on this earth for Billy Cundiff?

Not even the Ravens' very own website can stop from poking Cundiff with a sharp stick. This wasn't a message board or a comments section, either ‒ it wasn't even an editorial piece. It was the team's web store.

Of course, the organization might still be a bit bitter about the 32-yard field goal Cundiff missed at the end of the AFC Championship game. That miss prevented a tie that would have taken the game to overtime in the New England Patriots' eventual 23-20 win, but the pass Lee Evans lost in the end zone on that same drive would have put the Ravens in the Super Bowl, and you don't see mean things about Evans in the web store.

It's a rough life, this kicking thing.

The relevant and mean portion is highlighted at the bottom left.

I don't know what game other people were watching, but Lee Evans made that catch and immediately had it swatted out of his hands by the defender. He was still pulling it in when the guy knocked it out. It was a good defensive play, not a drop or mistake on Evans part. Missing the FG was Cundiffs fault alone.

It was a great defensive play but you just know Andre would have pulled that in.

I <3 Andre.

Lee Evans holds on to the TD and Cundiff never has to kick a FG. Do they have anything for a Evans jersey?

Felt more like a gaffe on Evans to me. He didn't secure it and instead was bringing his arms/hands up before the play was done. Moore hit the ball downwards and forced it through the sort of hoop Evans made with his arms.

Ravens kicking consultant Randy Brown confirmed that the Gillette Stadium scoreboard was inaccurate during the end of the AFC Championship Game Sunday, leading to a rushed kick from Billy Cundiff. He thinks it’s possible the error was made on purpose.

During an appearance with Angelo Cataldi and The Morning Team on 94 WIP in Philadelphia Tuesday, Brown said “The scoreboard was one down behind, the entire last three plays, from what we understand. That caused Billy Cundiff to have to rush on to the field with just seconds left on the play clock to try and make the kick, which he missed.”

When asked if he felt the error was done purposely to mislead the Ravens, he replied “I don’t think you can rule anything out in New England, can you?”

I'm still trying to understand how being a down behind on the scoreboard has anything to do with rushing a kick because of the play clock.
He thought it was 3rd down not 4th. He thought the offense had one more play before he had to kick. Reports are that he was down on the other side of the field doing his prekick warmups and that someone had to find him and tell him it was time to kick. That's why he was so late running out. Deadspin.com actually has some good articles about it. Sorry I can't grab the link, I'm on my phone

That's almost as funny as Ian Howfield having his own website.

I was eating dinner at Fat Maria's in Pasadena when that happened. I was in either 7th or 8th grade. I got so mad I had to excuse myself to go to the bathroom and cuss, lol. The whole restaurant let a collective, "you gotta be f'ing kidding me!" along with a few other things.
