My Son & I Got Playoff Tix for Christmas--have a question though...

Hey guys, I hope y'all all had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year.

My son (and I) got 2 tix to the playoff game on the 7th from his Grandpa. The only info I have is that they're located in "Section: Gridiron Sideline," and I'm trying to figure out where that's located. The seating chart grids online haven't really helped me figure anything out. I know that it's up pretty high--or so I've been told.

Was also wondering if there was anything special planned for this game yet? My son & I have been to three games before and he wants to get all duded up and decked out! Dressed up...facepaint...the whole nine yards! He really likes walking through the tailgate stuff, but we don't stop anywhere really, because I don't know anyone.

I really want him to get the WHOLE EXPERIENCE for this playoff game. I REALLY want it to be special for him. If any of you guys can help me out, to make this something truly special for him...from my heart to yours--I'd appreciate it so much!

Too awesome. There should be a section number as well as a seat number on the tickets. Do you know if these are his regular seats or did he buy them off the secondary market? Gridiron is the midfield 600's. Great great seats. You will have a great view.

Stop by the Blue Crew tailgate. Those guys love visitors and you do know them from here! They are in the platinum lot.

Stop by the the Blue Crew and just ask for Bill or TedC they would love to have you there and most of them post on the MB. Have fun and good luck.

Will! Definitely drop by the Blue Crew. "Bill" is TexanBill on the MB. There are a bunch of members of this board that are Blue Crew members, at least 10 if not more. If I tried to list them all and forgot someone I'd be in trouble! :) OF COURSE, you would get to see ME!! :shetexan:

I am totally amped! So...how early would we need to get there to see Bill before he's totally sauced? LOL

Hummmm! Probably about 4am! :) J/K!!

Do you have a parking pass? Where will you be staying? You might be able to walk through the gate on Kirby and Westridge, since you have tickets. I'm not sure about that though. I'm pretty sure security will be tough since it's a playoff game. There is another gate you can walk through off Kirby, and then you just turn right and look for the BIG FLAG with BLUECREW TAILGATERS on it flying high in the front corner of the platinum lot, corner of Kirby and Westridge.

TexansChick tailgates on platinum also, not far from us, and she visits us a lot. Aj, who writes for the Examiner, also tailgates on platinum, not far from us. Lots of fun, very family friendly tailgate. Don't worry about bringing anything either, there will be plenty.

Look forward to seeing ya!! Gonna be fun!

Gridiron, Tx is the entire 5th, 6th, and 7th levels at Reliant, including endzones. Since it mentions the sideline, Nitro was correct that you will most likely be between the 20's, iirc.

Definitely stop by the Blue Crew for tailgating festivities. They do it right and treat you like part of their crew. Awesomely good time.
 
I really appreciate you guys. I am so excited about getting to tailgate with y'all. I told Keaton about this thread, and all the awesome feedback y'all have given us. He just smiled and said, "Dad, this is gonna be great!"

Gridiron, Tx is the endzones on the 5th level, all the 6th level, and the south endzone on the 7th. The north endzone on the 7th is now the "Directors Club" ($$$). The sidelines on the 5th level are "Loge" (Loge I and Loge II).

The 5th level endzone is "Gridiron Loge".

The 6th level between the 20s is "Gridiron Midfield".

The 6th level on the sides not between the 20s is "Gridiron Sideline".

The 6th level endzone is "Gridiron Endzone".

The 7th level south endzone is "Gridiron Terrace".

So "Gridiron Sideline" should be 6th level between the 20 and the corner (i.e. in the southwest corner Sections 601 through 606). Still can see everything, I think any seat inside the stadium is good! Enjoy the game!

So we now know more than we ever wanted to know about gridiron, TX! j/k Never knew that level of detail before. And the bolded is where LYB will be seated.
 
I've gotta bump this once more to tell you guys (and gals) that my son & I are SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED to come hang with y'all tomorrow. We're gonna try to be there shortly after noon. Definitely gonna hit y'all up!!!
