Had to write this after Falcon game...

Hello my Texans Talk friends. I've been gone from the boards for too long. Been busy keeping my business going. That said, after attending the Falcons game I was too inspired (was that an amazing atmosphere or what?) not to write something for Sport Radio 610's open call for Texans songs. So in honor of us clinching this weekend (oh yes we believe!) here is Stampede.

Seriously - this has already been discussed in another thread.

Sorry - horrible song.

I apologize then. Didn't realize it had been discussed. I knew I was rushing the creation of the song, but I guess I miscalculated how much I rushed it...haha

Welcome back! I think it's pretty awesome, myself. Certainly better than anything I could do. :brando:

I tried to locate the thread referenced above, but couldn't find it. If you do, you should post this there as well.

Wow, with a welcome back like that, I wouldn't be surprised if Twitch didn't go away again for a while. Just because it's not your cup of tea doesn't mean you have to be so nasty about it.

Thanks for the kind words euro-Texan and jezebel. I remember you both from when I used to frequent this forum. I've toured the world in bands, I've had worse critics than Grams...haha.

I did a quick search for the thread as well, but didn't find it. Perhaps he meant Texans songs in general were discussed or he thought I was trying to name the defense. I saw a thread like that. I wrote this song as a quick pump you up type deal. The stampede was simply referring to the whole team and us fans not an attempt as a nickname. Sort of a "Texans have arrived". I'm probably a little late with it as there may be a barrage of Texans songs by now, but didn't have time till now. Plus the stadium atmosphere for the Atlanta game was so incredible it was hard not to feel something after leaving that game. It made my drive back to South Texas quick and easy.

Ok that's what I thought. You must have been posting this when I was replying to jjjezebel.

I wasn't trying to nickname them. I figured Bulls on Parade would stick cause they played it a lot at the Atlanta game and Barwin was dancing to it. PLus he's been hash tagging it like crazy.

I did hear an interview on 610 where Cushing didn't sound too enthused though. Guess he's outnumbered...haha

I like it! Did you record that yourself?

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, CretorFrigg. Yea we recorded it at my buddy's apartment. I wrote, sang it and played bass and he played guitar and drums. It was done very quickly cause I wanted to have it done this weekend before we clinch. :winky:

I liked it man! I thought it was really good for something that was written with a time crunch and I repped you for it.

Also, I listened to the other song that you had on your Youtube account from your band, and man......you guys have a good sound. What happened? Why didn't you guys make the big time?

My best friend is a REALLY talented singer and his words are "singers are a dime a dozen, it all comes down to luck."

Have no idea what grams is talking about. I prefer this over all of the other songs that have come and gone in the last few weeks. Nice work and welcome back :D

For accuracy sakes, I think New Orleans did a good job against our defense, just saying.

Yes Twitch, it has been way too long.

Anywho, opinions are like a-holes everyone has one. I liked it!!

The way this thread started off, I thought I was in big trouble...was wondering if I should have come back....but things are looking up. Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. Really appreciate it.

We had a small record deal and the label spent a decent amount of money on the recording of the album....but not much on promotion which pretty much kills an album. Our song "Breathe" from the CD was a top 5 hit on some college stations but without promotion it quickly died.

Yea I'd like to replay that game again with the D as it is now. I think the difference in that game was their home field advantage. That said, it's going to be rough for me if it's a Texans/Saints Super Bowl. My dad is from South Louisiana and my mom is from Texas. I grew up an Oiler and Saint fan. Talk about civil war!...haha

Man it feels good to be back. I only have one person down here in the Corpus Christi area that I can talk serious Texans talk with. Nice to be back amongst more Texans friends.
