Congrats from a Saints fan-- that crow in my gumbo just got bigger

Congrats Texans fans, and thanks for beating up on the Bucs. I think we can
now stick a fork in Tampa... Hopefully you'll do us more service against the Falcons!

I talked some smack a while back, and it turned out you DO have a hellacious fan following, and you had some great fans show up back in
New Orleans, so I've been eating some big time crow.

As some of you know, I live in Houston, (and grew up in the area, dating back
to the Oilers days) and I think your FINALLY going to get some media respect nationally. Houston has a long history of getting disrespected by the national media, whether its sports, or not getting its rightly deserved space shuttle.

Its great to see Wade Phillips doing what I knew he could do. His daddy was my favorite coach of all time, and was a big reason I took to the Saints back in 1982. I landed a job in Louisiana just after Bud Adams let O.A. Phillips go, and even though he wasnt able to get the Saints into the playoffs, he made Believers out of a lot of us. I rooted for a lot of losing teams, but its been a great ride.

Your time is coming. See you in Indianapolis.

I'm glad to see that you're coming to your senses, but you said some EXTREMELY disrespectful things about my city man! You words ring hollow right about now.

Thanks for your post, but I have to disagree with your well intended comment that the Texans have great fans.

The Saints fanbase, though, has been loyal and long enduring. Props.

I live and work in Houston. In fact, I was born here. When I was a kid, I bled Oiler Blue. Granted that was a long time ago, and I've been a WhoDat for 29 years. But fact is, I still get pissed when Houston gets dissed by the media. I claim both Texas & Louisiana as home, and no one can stop me.

My commentary was a lamentation about the lost past-- Oilers, etc. It was also (over)done in humor. Nowhere did I express actual hate. Didnt bring up wildfires, or hurricanes, or crime rates. The meanest thing I said was basically, "Wow, you guys arent that into it."

I didnt even bring up your W-L record. I admire fans of losing teams. I've been one for a long time.

So for those of you able to accept positive vibe, wow, I certainly did meet some great Texans fans, and Im happy to see you in position for a First Round Bye. Keep your head up and get behind Leinhart. It might get bumpy at first, but you got the D already. And like Saints fans of the past, you gotta Believe!

YOU DID IT!

Congratulations!

I dont know if you believe completely in your QB now, but I can tell you, nobody
gave the Oilers a chance, going up against Dan Fouts and the Chargers, with Gifford Nielson starting for an injured Pastorini. Also there was that small matter of Earl Campbell out for the game. It was a playoff game in San Diego, and when it was over, the Chargers packed up for the holidays, and the Columbia Blue was one game away.

We're going to shock the Packers in their own house.
Its up to you to take down the Patriots.
You gotta Believe.
See you in February.

If your talking about the playoffs, right now Denver is slated to play Pittsburgh and NE would get the Jets. If your talking about this Sunday....Tebow get's to see first hand what a real QB looks like as NE pummels Denver.

Skymike, gonna be a tough road but hopefully we see you guys in Indy.

Them "real QBs" lose games just like the fake ones.

I also believe that it will be the Niners in the Super Bowl.

I dont think a "fake QB" can win 6 games in a row.
There are fake ones, and they're all losing.

We'll see about them Niners tonight. They also face Seattle in Seattle, with the Seahawks fighting to get in.

And damn those Panthers. Its a setback, but you're still in, and you can
still get a bye.

Maybe it's just me but I'm not buying the Tebow hype at all. If het gets his horrid throwing mechanics fixed then he has a chance to be very good simply because of the threat he poses on the ground. Teams will figure him out just like they did in Vick's early days and VY.

You want the Niners to lose while we want them to win. If Pittsburgh wins the chances of them losing one of the next two are slim. Best chance is when they play the Browns in Cleveland the last game of the year. Anything can happen of course after the upsets yesterday ala GB.

The Texans were ALL GUTS this season. A season you can be proud of.
Reminds me of Oilers '79.

totally different feeling in our camp.

Y'all had higher expectations, I'm sure, but that SF game was as fun as it gets from my chair.

Thanks, man. That's a team that I can relate to!

How does Saints Nation feel about losing Greg Williams as DC?

I'd be gripping right now if we lost our DC. Seriously gripping hard.

Just out of curiosity, what's the feeling in your camp?
Sick to our stomachs. just sick. Wasted a 13-3 season, and a record setting performance. Drew Brees contract is up, so we have that to deal with, and as you know, there's no guarantee that your star players will be standing upright thru the next season. Gave up 36 points to a sucko offense, and lost to a 49er team that we should have blown out. ....You only get so many chances, and this was our most talented team ever. Reminds me of the '92 Oilers.

On the other hand, you guys, I would guess are looking to build on the guts-out performance of this year, and must be pumped about next year. I'm sensing a door is about to be "kicked in."

How does Saints Nation feel about losing Greg Williams as DC?....
On blackandgold.com, our posters area about 95% at "dont let the door your a**." I share that feeling.
[/B] With good reason!
:fans:
Yes, now your defensive coordinator would be a huge loss. Im glad we dont have to play a Bucs team lead by Wade Phillips twice a year. Our defensive coordinator, we could trade him for 50 cents and a pack of ho-ho's.
