I'm not happy with the offense.

I'm not happy with the game plan the last couple of weeks.

I have no faith in Even Steven.

But I still think we win the division. After the loss to the Raiders, I don't know how we're going to do that. All the Ws on my schedule have been changed to ?? 10 games left.

I know you never know, but I thought I had a good feel for the team. I was confident we would win certain games. Tennessee @ Tennessee was not one of them.

I'm sitting back, & enjoying the show.

it is kinda hard to call, if onlt because of injuries. If we r healthy i say we go 8-2 over the rest of the season

So far it is 3 votes for making the playoffs, and nobody thinks the Texans won't . . . yet!

Ill bust the streak. I want them to make the playoffs, but I'm just too jaded from a combo of what I have seen this year, and years past. I know the rest of the schedule should be a cake walk, but they have yet to show me they can win games they should win in a consistent manner. Ill wait and see without getting my hopes up.

My expectations have decreased, but I still think they will make the playoffs. I think the remaining schedule will be easier. I think they will be one and done though. :rake:

I voted option #3 only because it was the closest to what I wanted. My expectations have remained the same in that we can still make the playoffs and probably will but Im nowhere near as confident as I was heading into week 5.

Ok, AGAIN the poll is missing this option:

-my expectations have decreased a few games, but I still think we'll make the playoffs.

I have no expectations as long as Rick/Gary are running the show.

It's just not worth the emotional investment.

I think that if we get AJ AND Casey back soon that we'll be just fine. I had us going 3-3 to start the year anyways. So far the only game that surprised me was Oakland. I think that if we have a healthy AJ this offense gets back on track and TBH getting Mason makes this team just downright dangerous on offense. He's like Walter but faster. He's like JJ but can catch reliably. Guys, he is the #2 we've been looking for. Now suddenly you have JJ/Walter going against a nickel/dime corner (win!) instead of CB2. Throw in what Casey potentially brings to the table and teams just won't be able to sit 8 in the box and come after schaub with near as much regularity. I think we're better than the Titans even w/o AJ and we win that game and I think if AJ is back after that game we lose 2 or MAYBE 3 after that. This team notches double digit wins for the first time in history and the division and makes the playoffs.

The reason I say increased a couple of games is that we can win more than 10 games now with a viable WR2.

This would be my vote if it was an option. I could see us taking the division with 9 or 10 wins. My pre-season expectations were 10-11 wins.

blah blah blah ....... same ole Texans is what I see

Yeah, they might sneak into the playoffs this year, but they won't be putting the fear of God into the opposing teams, that's for sure.

I see 5-5 finish so yes same old Texans. With Kubiak's GOAL of just wanting a chance to win in the 4th quarter what do you expect. I said this 2 years ago that if Kubiak was a track coach he would say " If you get ahead slow down and let the competition catch up. If you are even stay even and try to win at the end. Only try your hardest if you are way behind or there is no chance to win. jmo

Before the season, looking at the first 6 games, I thought 4-2 would be outstanding, but 3-3 might be more realistic. I also thought that after those first 6 games that they'd go on a roll. That needs to happen starting Sunday.

I think they still win the division.

I think we just miss the playoffs, the Oakland game pushed us back and now with AJ out, we will most likely lose this Sunday....if we do, I do not see us over coming the losing stench and and we just miss the playoffs....hope I am wrong

My expectations have lowered. I expected the new defense, combined with a year of improvement of the offense, to ignite the team enough that they would start winning the close games that in previous seasons they lost.

As it turns out the offense is worse if anything and that seems to counteract the improved defense. I expect another year of the same old story - winning a couple of big games, losing a couple of bad games, and in general waiting to see what they're made of "next week" to see if they will ever play with confidence and a driving will to win.

One unit improves, and another unit regresses at the exact same rate.
Gary Kubiak = .500

It ain't Gary-bashin if it's true.

The players are taking a physical beating every game. If Foster is healthier we can win this game without AJ. I think defense will get better weekly & the schedule seemingly is easier. 2-3 wins would sure help everyone's confidence. I am concerned most about Schaub.

My expectations have stayed the same. I still think we win 10 to 11 games and get in the playoffs. I'm just not sure we will do any damage once were there.

Just getting to the playoffs is not going to satisfy me. I don't want to play the first game and lose.

And if we somehow luck into getting in, I'm pretty sure that's what will happen.

And Kubiak stays ....

I think the Texans need to beat the Titans twice to have a chance to win the division. Look at the Titans schedule and see what you think.

If the Texans don't win Sunday in Tenn I don't like the Texans chances.

Just my opinion.

I am remaining steadfast in my support of option 1... but... they eff this up Sunday I may begin to change my mind.

If we lose @Tennessee, we'll both have one loss in the AFC South. All things being equal if Tennessee comes into Reliant at 9-6 Jan 1, & we come in 8-7, if we win at home, we're in Tennessee is out. Because our records would be the same & they would have two losses in the AFC South.

Whether we're looking at 10 wins, 11 wins, 12 wins, if we're tied with Tennessee, winning the final game between us & Tennessee, we're in as long as we don't lose another game to the AFC South.

We'd still control our own destiny (sort of) as long as we keep pace with Tennessee.

My expectations have improved. The defense is better than expected and I'm ok with the offense when andre is back.

Losing in baltimore and new orleans was expected, but we showed we could compete, and I didn't put us in their class before the season.

Oakland was flukey. They got a lot of breaks that went their way. Any given Sunday and all that, and it shows kubiaks flaws as a head coach. He really needs to go, but I don't even think he can keep us out of the playoffs.

Did you go to school in Louisiana?

John McClain was saying that if the Texans lose , all hell will break loose around here ... duh .

I think some .... me included .... are in the here we go again mode . Others are more optimistic and are we're ok we can win the division mode . Winning the division doesn't mean we're good and that we're in the super bowl hunt . It means we're better than the other bad teams in the division .

I think the offense has peaked and the strength of the team has switched . I think the other teams play to stop Foster and " 20 to 20 " Matt can't beat them especially without AJ . That means the OL has to ramp up but they aren't a big physical lot so what now ?

Kubiak ... after just 6 years ... has shown to be inflexible in the offense and when he's hot he's hot but once the opponents adjust , we're stuck until they play prevent ... hmmm .

Win or lose, I plan on doing an "After weeks 7... " thread. Just like I've done after every week.

I have moved the torches and pitch forks to the front of the garage.

TK's weekly fireside thread .

Are the Texans where you think they should be ? Did Bob hire an illegal ? I didn't think we would be 4-2 or 5-1 but they should be . Going 3-3 is the mark of a team that doesn't want it yet . They're like a 90 year old man on his honeymoon .

I to have the pitchforks ready if not for the riot then for the leaves . It's really to dry for the torches , better bring flashlights . :pop:

I predict we don't win until A.J. steps back onto the field....and we better hope he stays healthy the rest of the season....and we better do something about that vulnerability.

This team has too many excuses. Bad refs, bad coaching, hurt players, etc. Its time (been time) to man up and take whats theirs. I do NOT want to watch another game if they cant beat TENN. I know this sounds extreme, but so far I havent seen the WANT in but a few players. Also Kubiaks plan seems to be to get a small lead, then squat on it and hope nothing changes.(well it does, always). Also, what is it with Shaub having nooooo pocket presence. Throw it away, don't just **** yourself, go fetal, and let the sack happen. Heres a thought, how about, just for shits and giggles, throw a little trickery out ther every so often i.e. flea flicker or fake punt. And no, passing on 3rd and 1 doesnt count, Gary.

This team needs a fire in it's belly and I think it's time Cushing had a rant in the locker room. Problem is it's not the D that's having the problems. I don't know if it matters.
