What poster was Derek Carr again?

Carr Bombed

Hall of Fame
I know a lot of his family member posted here, which one was he?

Hate on his older brother all you want, but David did have elite raw athletic skills (Rocket arm and good mobility)

It looks like his younger brother was gifted with the same arm, but even has more mobility and a MUCH BETTER release. However it seems he also has what his brother lacked...heart, toughness, and leadership. Is anybody watching Fresno ST right now on ESPN 2? He's getting in people's faces and really shows emotion for the game...he looks like a real competitor. This kid might have a future in this league and if he becomes something, I'm giving this board all the credit for "toughening him up" with all the criticism we gave his brother/family. :) jk

All B.S. aside, I'm going to root for this kid. His brother had special skills that many people in this league never possesed...however unlike his brother he may have the mindset/drive to put them to good use. Good luck Derek.

And holy crap, he looks just like David...it's almost scary.

Hulk75 was the middle brother. Derek was the little brother. Hulk75 was an offensive lineman for UH I believe.

Little brother might show the older brother how it's done. :)

Anyways you can say whatever you want about that family...but they have fantastic athletic genes. Which David Carr absolutely wasted, he was one of the biggest wastes of raw talent that I've ever seen at this level. Man that guy had a LIVE arm, he just didn't know how to use it.

Yep I agree with you completely.

Really a shame the way HWWNBM wasted his talents. The guy could have been special. I'm not saying he could have ever been in the same class as Brady and Peyton, but I truly believe if he would have had the drive he could have been in the same class as Roesthlisberger & Rivers. He had the arm and the speed to be the 2nd leading rusher for a QB one year.

Sad. Maybe Derek will figure it out.

I'm not watching but what to you really think of his arm strength?

So far it looks like he has the same rocket arm, but without that side arm release..his release is MUCH more traditional...and he actually has more mobility. He looks like a legit NFL prospect in the near future. He's showing something his brother never showed though...emotion and attitude, I like it. It's what I always wanted to see from his brother.

Also if you're not watching this game, you might want to turn it on...it's a pretty good game. Derek's dogs are down a TD with 9 minutes to go in the 4th...lets see if he can bring them back.

LOL and Carr's center proceeds to snap the ball into the ground out of a shotgun formation.

One family tradition will stay true...their ability to blame Olineman. :spit:

LOL, nvm...game over. 57 yard catch and run by Ole Miss. On to the Stanford game and the future Indy Colt Andrew Luck :)

:vincepalm: Urgh nevermind.. Stanford game officially turned off. Joel Meyers is the commentator and I'd rather rip off my eyelids and pour paint thinner into my eyeballs than listen to him call a football game.

I believe Hulk75 was DARREN.

David oldest, Darren the middle (Hulk75), and Derek the youngest.

David had a lot of skills, and could've been a special player in the league, but he literally only had one good receiver in his career, and that was a young Andre Johnson. Crappy OLine, only one good RB whose career ended too soon, and unknown WRs and TEs.

And zero work ethic to improve his lot. He may not have had help, but he didn't improve his understanding of the game either.

Yep. It was the combination of the two that doomed him. Even if he had a good team around him though I doubt David Carr would have been much better than average.

I seem to recall he was last to arrive at practice and first to leave. The league's best QBs eat, drink, and sleep football. Carr seemed more interest spending time off the field than working hard on the field with his teammates.

This. Carr didn't waste his talents. He lacked the obsessive desire necessary as well as the natural instinct to take advantage of his physical abilities. Not everyone who is blessed with the tools has an interest in pursuing a future in the NFL. Carr thought his family was more important than his game and I can't criticize him for that. Football just didn't come first for him and I don't even know if it would have mattered if it had. I don't believe he had the necessary instincts to play at this level. Never saw him really sense pressure or appear to have any kind of natural internal clock. He was an awesome QB in college when you spread everyone out all over the field and he wasn't being pressured all that much.

I also don't think he had what it took between the ears. I don't think he could read a defense much less pick one apart. He seemed easily confused and fell for the same stuff over and over again.

He rode his natural ability to many millions of dollars and turned in a very dedicated 8-5, M-F type effort. To win in the NFL you have to do better than that.

QB75 was Pa I believe .

Ibar Harry was a groupie .

Hulk used to say Davy had no weapons . He had AJ and Gaffney is still in the league .

I think Hulk is on the You Tube making videos of Derek and the Family going back to Cali .

I'm pretty sure his mom was on the board back then too. You wouldn't really know from the posts, but she used an av that had Mom's picture in it.

I think the two bold comments go together. I don't think his failures had anything to do with not being smart enough. I just think it had/has everything to do with David not having the drive to study the film like he should so he can learn to pick defenses apart.

Manning hasn't been the best in the business because he is the smartest; I truly believe Manning has been the best because he works the hardest. Everything I have read about the guy indicated that he lives, eats, and breathes football and studies film more than anyone. That is why he is able to pick teams apart. He knows your teams defense better than you do because he flat out works harder at it.

David was never willing to put in the necessary hours to do this. He always did the bare minimum the coaches asked him to do. When practice or the game was over, he was done thinking about football. When the offseason hit, football was the last thing on his mind. That's why he failed.

Mr. Mittens would have been good with this offensive line, and this offensive talent we have now! That is of course dependent on how hard he worked. I think Kubiak could've made something of him!

Sounds kinda like Eli Manning......

I can't believe anyone still says this. Carr is a bum and that has been proven time and time again from Houston to Charlotte to New York City and to San Francisco. David has taken his suckitude from coast to coast and with each new team, it's the same story.

The guy is the very definition of a player that does not have "IT".

We said the same thing about Babin, look what he's doing now. Carr just needs to go to one more team..... Jacksonville?

Dallas...

I bet he'll go to Dallas & become a pro-bowler.

It is because we ruined him :toropalm:

Carr is not Babin. And Babin actually showed something his final year here. It was a mistake to let him go. Carr has been and always will be a terrible NFL QB.

I hope you are being sarcastic otherwise my respect for your posting has just been decreased by 95%. In fact if you are serious, this has got to rate amongst the top 5 worst posts ever on this board.

Wow...

David ruined himself by a lack of dedication to his craft. It has been well documented that he was the last to get to practice and the first to leave.

I'm not sure what your relationship with David is but you can't argue with stats and many of David's "sacks" were his own doing. In 2006 (David's last year), he got sacked 43 times. In 2007, that number was cut in half as Schaub (in his first season as a starter) was only sacked 22 times.

You're either blind or knowingly being deceptive.

I disagree. He could very well have had us changing out offensive linemen forever. I also don't think Kubiak would have been able to change his basic nature and that was his biggest problem.
