BCS strips USC’s 2004 title

The Bowl Championship Series unanimously decided to strip the University of Southern California of the 2004 national football title, BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock said Monday. The championship was awarded after USC defeated Oklahoma 55-19 in the 2005 Orange Bowl.

The decision marks the first time a major-college football or men’s basketball championship has been vacated since the polls began.
BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock said there was no opposition to decision.

“The president’s group operates by consensus,” Hancock said, referring to the governing body of the BCS, which is made up of one president from each of the NCAA’s 12 conferences and the president of Notre Dame. “In this case, there was no opposition.”

In keeping with BCS and NCAA policy, the title will be vacated and not awarded to another school.

...........and the underlying issue of cheating? Carol is coaching in the NFL and Reggie is playing in the NFL and they're still rich.

Who pays? The school, the fans, current players.... Same will be true when the NCAA hammers OSU. You think Pryor is playing another down in college? (lol, though the lockout is screwing him, no supplemental draft).

Not much they can do at this point except tarnish their legacy and keep them out of college athletics.

Do you think OSU is going to get their BCS title stripped if the NCAA looks into the Clarett situation enough?

I am not a OSU fan but as a football fan I was going gaga over Clarett his freshman year. What a waste... But I do think that OSU created Clarett, and now they might finally pay for that.

Clarett I drink vodka in the weight room former Bronco? (we try not to claim him, lol)

I don't think he was ineligible and I do believe that investigation has long since been concluded. I wouldn't be shocked it everything turned out to be true that we lose 2010 season and the win over Ak. LOL, our only ever win over an SEC is going to be stripped.

:vincepalm:

I'm sure if Reggie wasn't there, Oklahoma would have one that BCS Title:kitten:

My sympathies YIT

If you ever find out any dirt on a star player on the 40 acres they turn you into a bum and release you on the strip to harass students. Nobody believes a bum!

Where the hell do you think Vince got the money for his car? It's all just a cover up.

As for Sabin, doesn't he just quit before anyone gets caught?
