2011 Schedule

If we can go 3-3 to start, I really don't see that we should have any problem for COMPETENT COACHING to manage a 10-6 record.

What about a Week 11 bye? I've never seen it that late before.

Six prime time games for the Cowbastuds. Didn't they have the same record as we did? Aren't they picking before us next Thursday?

The NFL kicks more sand in our face, and we love it all over again. Thanks Kubes.

Excuse me!!!! It's SEVEN prime time games for the Cowshats. I missed one. That seems pretty fair, NFL. At least we get one of the shuttles retired to Houston. Doh!!!!!!

Brutal start.

Very brutal start. We have to start out at least 2-1 and we can't afford to lose a home game to The Colts.

I guess the NFL got really ticked that we beat their beloved Peyton and now they want to see if we can do it again.

We have got to rule October because November only has 3 games in it and we always suck in November which by the way is in Jville and at Tampa, a team we've never beat.

I think we are in for a long season.

They only have 5 if you just count regular season games. The NFL limits teams to 6 at the most.

We beat Tampa here in December of 2007 28-14.

so ...dont make the playoffs get the toughest schedule make the Superbowl and you get easy schedule...So is a rooney making the schedule?

Always has my brotha. You have to know that The Steelers also always get the calls too (remembering 1978 Mike Renfro CATCH!!!)

Pretty sure we're 2-1 against the Bucs.

Well, we don't deserve as many national games as last season so it's no surprise. I bet if we had Cowher it'd be different...

Editing my post since I've apparently been away WAY to long and don't have my head screwed on right! :) That said, the obvious bias in the NFL is sickening, and very tiring. Giving the Cowboys five primetime games is proof of that bias. Personally, I really don't care. We are horrible in primetime, so noon games are fine with me. I just hate we are starting the season off with the tough part of the sch. BUT, in the NFL you never know from year to year WHO will be the sleeper! PLEASE GOD, let it be us!!!

hmm the sched def will benefit the texans if the lockout last a couple weeks into the season like some predict

The fact that the Cowgirls have gotten as much attention as they have in this thread (a thread discussing the Texans schedule) is proof of why they get as many prime time games as they do even when they are bad. They are a popular team (to love or hate) and always will be, so they will always get their fair share of attention.

You guys have a real tough schedule to start the season. Your season could be over before it ever really begins. If you happen to go .500 over your first 6 games then you should be in pretty good shape.

The Titans, sadly, will probably be pretty bad since we have no QB, but the fact that we play 7 of the 10 worst run defenses in the NFL could help us out greatly.

The Jaguars are the Jaguars and they'll find some way to finish 8-8 at best.

The Colts have a real brutal schedule this year and this could be what helps the rest of the division the most.

A tough start but overall I think the schedule is easier than the previous years.
Weeks 8-15 seem pretty easy considering playing the Browns, Bucs, Panthers, Bengals and a bye week. Even if we have a rough start if we can pick it up during these weeks then the playoffs will be on the line the last 2 weeks of the season against divisional rivals.

It's a shame that Reliant does not get to host any prime time games, it is such a great game day experience and just a beautiful stadium to "showoff" at night.

It looks like we will be the underdog in 5 of the first 7 games (we'll be chalk against Mia & Oak).

Planning a road trip to New Orleans with a few exiles. I'm the designated driver.

Only 3 games versus 3-4 defenses. All in the initial 6 games.

Manning, Brees, and Big Ben in the first 4 games. :sos:

10 of the 16 games versus so-so (or worse) QBs.

This schedule looks like it will put Kubiak back in form. Horrific start, dazzling (but just short) finish.

Go Texans.

That schedule sets up perfect for 5-7 followed by a late 3 game run against weak teams to get everyone saying.."see how they finished."

Per usual you can't predict who will tank and who will be strong so who knows.

I just hope the season and the lockout last intill like week 5

that way we can miss Colts MIA Saints and Pitts :kitten:

but based on a first glance 16-0 Yup ..... LOL

I predict teh Titans and COlts both meltdown and it will be a two way race between us and the JAGS thus the last 3 weeks we will be playing for nothing due to the lost to ATL at home if we some how win that game i pretty sure we will try and go for a perfect record and not rest our players

Meh. It's almost 10 years old. With today's "throw-away" attitudes, I want a new stadium. My seats don't even have a place where I can plug in my iPod.

I should be able to swipe my card at my seat and a beer should pour itself without having to get up. Reliant sucks!

8-8 no playoffs - Bye Bye Gary ..... That opening stretch looks rough. They could be 0-6 goin into possum holler.

Why does the NFL.com schedule show us as having 2 bye weeks and only 15 games

I'm glad that we have hardly any prime time games.......

With the track record of the Texans pee-pee's collectively shrinking on national TV, we have a better shot to win on regular Sundays IMO.

What pisses me off is the one effing game we did get on prime time is TNF on NFLN.... :gun:

Nice....crappy broadcast and I gotta leave the comfort and DUI free zone of my house to go watch the game somewhere....most likely in Round Rock in Williamson County.....FAIL

10-6

We're sweeping the Titans, eh? And we ride a 4-game win streak over Titans, Jags, Browns, and Bucs.

Good luck with THAT.

I applaud your effort, though. I won't even TOUCH that schedule and try to make predictions on it. Been doing it every year, until now, and I think I'll just pass on it.

I feel very good about predicting that IF there is an NFL season this year, the Texans will play in some games and not show up for others ending up with a final win/lose tally that someone on this board predicted. :spin:

I'm predicting Wade Phillips will be our head coach for the second half of the season. If there is one of course.

5-5 going into the Bye week...

First post missed a game:

Thursday 12/22 at Indianapolis Colts 7:20 p.m. NFLN

Yep. Wade will take over early November.

Also, Bob McNair will likely be asked his feelings about not having a Monday night game. He will respond that it doesn't really matter. Don't believe him. Inside, he has to be furious that this team isn't playing a Monday night game.
