Will the 3-4 defense actually help our offense?

Seems like we struggled alot against teams that run a 3-4 defense. Without really going back to each game, I can remember we lossed to Dal, San Diego, Denver, and we barely beat Redskins and Chiefs. All who run a 3-4 defense.

Is there a possibility that with us going against a 3-4 in practice that we improve in this area offensively?

The Colts, Titans and Jags are all 4-3 teams. So even if practicing against a 3-4 does help when playing other 3-4 teams it wouldn't help us in our own division. Not that we ever faired well against them in our 4-3 anyway.

We actually played well vs 34 teams this year. Its those pesky passing games that get us.

Texans were the worst team in the league in starting field position.

There lies a part of your issue on some of the slow starts. Can't expect to march down the field 80-90 yds every drive. Some drives have got to start from the 35-40 yard line.

Steve Slaton should get sent packing for that stat alone.

I pounded this fact all year. Probably the most underrated cause of our shitty season.

I dunno. Could be, though there were plenty of comments about Slaton's (lack of) return ability and how Jacoby wasn't burning it up like he's done in the past. I bitched about 27yd punts!

Niel Rackers was a good signing, just a shame we had to go through the charades and give up a camp body. Bright spot of our not so special teams play. IMHO

For reference:

Punts net - 21st (28th in league in number of punts by the way)
Kick returns ours - 27th
Punt returns ours - 29th
Opp punt returns - 10th
Opp kick returns - 25th

Opp kick returns would be much higher if not for Rackers making so many tackles.

Who did we score fewer than 21 points against?

That dude is a madman. I don't see any way the other players on the team can't call him a football player (as guys usually do with kickers). He definitely should be given an award for the Texans' ST player of the year.

Yup, and 3 in our own division

Division opponents make sense to me. They're used to seeing our offense so I'm not surprised they can hold us in check. Teams with good line and front 7 play seem to give us the biggest fits.
