Personally, if I had to choose five guys from this list it would be: Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Shannon Sharpe, Willie Roaf, and Marshall Faulk mainly because I have seen these guys play and they were all, in there respective positions, BEASTS.

Agree I just take out Willie Roaf and put in Deon Sanders but that is just me.

I'm getting sick of listening to Deion Sanders on NFLN. He's ruining NFLN commentary shows for me. So for now, any five except Deion Sanders is fine with me.

I confess knowing nothing about the two old-timers on the list, so I leave them out of my commentary. Aside from them, Curtis Martin is the only one on that list that shouldn't be in the HoF, IMO. Since they're only picking five, I'll just say put Cris Carter in already.

Sanders: The best CB of all time, of course he's in

Faulk and Sharpe both redefined their positions, so they should get the nod as well.

Sanders and Faulk are iron locks. I understand folks not liking his personality but the dude was the ultimate definition of cover corner.

Roaf seems next most likely and I suspect Carter gets a spot.

Does Ed Sabol count against the five or is that a players limit?

So just put Thorn in front of your commentary next time. LOL

If Sanders isn't the best CB of all time, then he's real close. He is a lock for the hall of fame, but I'd rather him make it after he's moved on from NFLN so I don't have to listen to him.

Ofcourse the flip side to that is he doesn't make it, and I have to listen to him ***** about it.

I'm hoping Mr. Raider himself Tim Brown gets in...but I doubt it. Like others have said before, Sanders & Faulk are a lock to get in. I think Andre Reed deserves to get in as well, and should be a lock, but he'll probably get shafted again.

The thing that hurts brown is the fact that Carter & Reed are still there & 1 of them is definitely gonna get in this year, most likely carter & with the politics of the HOF voting people, they likely won't vote 2 WR's in at the same time....

Some people think Deon is smart and insightful while others think he's a jerk.
Maybe he's all of those things, or maybe none of them but most people who follow the NFL closely and know its history think of him as maybe the greatest "cover" corner who ever played with extraordinary ball skills who was also an outstanding punt returner.
Sanders clearly should be a first ballet HOFamer.

The Bus? Definitely!

Chris Carter? MOST Definitely!

Richard Dent? Anyone who votes against Dent should be required to run at him at full speed with a football.

Falk? He's in...but not on his first ballot.

Reed? 50/50

Cortez Kennedy? Probably.

Sanders? Arguably one of the best corners to play the game and if you don't believe that ask him..he'll tell you. The ultimate NFL mercenary going from team to team ring hunting. I think they should make the muff-hugga wait our of pure spite! I say that not because one of his stints was with the team I h:zipit:te with a passion I can scarecely articulate, but I say the fact that he's acting like a shoo-in should be cause to make him wait. Vugg him!

Shannon Sharpe? Only if they don't allow mushmouth to give an induction speech. His weekly slaughter and butchery of the English language is an abomination which makes me cringe each time he parts his lips to speak.

I like to see the Hall voters show some love for offensive linemen. Yes, I understand its hard to measure how good linemen were and Pro Bowls don't really count for anything since fans stick to there own or those that have made it in the past.

However, Willie Roaf (and later Will Shields) were the two best linemen the Chiefs had which allowed Priest Holmes to be so successful. Roaf was among the best left tackles and Shields was a cornerstone at the Guard position.

Roaf was among the best left tackles
I think this is a true statement in discussion of LTs in the last generation, personally. I think he and Ogden are probably the best tackles who have played and since retired since Anthony Munoz.

I think he's definitely worthy of HoF

(but I'm also biased)

Regarding Deion, here is what I had posted back in December when discussing semi-finalists...

The term "shut down corner" was because of him. Sure, he wasn't that great of a tackler, but when he was put in to the position of needing to make one it typically wasn't the receiver he was covering that needed to be tackled. He scared QB's and OC's alike.

Tied for 2nd most INT td's with 9. Even at 37 Deion was still one of the fastest CB's in the game reportedly clocking in the 4.3's in the 40yd dash.

Deion had 8 probowls, 6x 1st team All-Pro, 2x 2nd team AP, 2x SB rings, 90's All Decade team, 1x NFL DPoY, 2x NFC DPoY. Also 1 of only two people in history to score a td 6 different ways. INT, KR, PR, Rec, Rush, Fum. Only 2nd 2-way starter since Chuck Bednarik.

Not only is Deion one of-if not the-best CB's ever to play, he is also one of the best athletes ever to play.

He had a mouth, but was never considered a locker room cancer from what I know, and never had off-field issues.
Also, his 19 Def and ST touchdowns are an NFL record.

NFL.com named Sanders #34 on NFL's Top 100 list this past year.

Not to mention he for a while was playing 2 sports at the same time, and playing both well. During the 1992 season, he hit .304 for the team, stole 26 bases, and led the NL with 14 triples in 97 games. During the 1989 season, he hit a major league home run and scored a touchdown in the NFL in the same week, the only player to ever do so. Sanders is also the only man to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series.

Anyone saying Deion shouldn't get in either never watched him, holds his tv shenanigans against him, or is bitter from playing for the Cowboys, SF, etc. I don't like his tv persona at all, whether it be his commentary or that awful "reality" show. That still doesn't take away from what he did on the field.

In his prime, I'd take him over any cb in their prime in the last 20 years without even a 2nd thought.

Bill Romanowski was on one of the talk radio shows yesterday. He was asked about Nnamdi. He said he was going to get way, way too much money. More importantly that it wasn't just about discouraging people from throwing but making plays when they did. He's right when comparing to Deion. Every CB gets thrown at some. I remember a commentator talking about Deion in the post-season one year saying all year he had been thrown at some ridiculously low number like 13 times and he had picked off 5-7 of them.

I love Deion. I'm very shocked OI like him as much as I do. He is a sure fire first ballet HoF'er, and to say other wise is just silly. Sanders, Carter, Brown, Sharp, Faulk. Bettis and Martin are HoF jokes, IMO. Bettis will get in because he is a Steeler, but Come on.

Just because I don't like Sander's mouthings on NFLN doesn't mean I don't see what he's done, and what he's done is remarkable. So, whatever. He'll make it in the HOF no matter what my opinion is anyway so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
