BUENO!
I mean it. I watched the second half of the game today in a kind of unfocused semi-nap because I'd finished working outside and just came in to crash. I watched them choke the entire thing up and didn't even care. No high blood pressure, no cursing at the television set. Nothing. It didn't matter to me at all. Anyone else at the "I just don't care anymore" stage?

Yep!

how else are you supposed to watch it at this stage? nothing to play for & in reality, it prob helps us for next yr.

i feel bad for anyone who still gets upset at games like these

I started to curse and the cursing turned into laughter. I'll bet that there are at least 3 high schools in Houston that could beat the Texans. I was glad to see Tebow build his confidence and his numbers.

This is what should scare McNair. Apathy is setting in.

100% agree. I was talking to my father when the game was 17-0 and my mother pipes in, "don't worry, they'll figure out a way to blow it." I didn't even try to argue.

I think the best word to describe my mood while watching the 4th quarter was "bemused." I just sort of smirked, rolled my eyes, and in that moment probably saw the Texans the way the rest of the country does.

They've become more than bad or disappointing. They're just lame now.

Yup, hence my 'section' location under my avatar.

I got a bunch of Texan gear for Christmas from my daughter Sam. It was extremely hard to show my excitement for it. I ONLY showed any happiness because it came from her.

The highlight of my gifts this year was an Oiler's mini helmet autographed by Mike Rozier! Didn't even matter that much that it didn't have Earl's autograph on it.

Oiler first and foremost! Texan second...even when it sucks to be one.

I think just by watching the game, you show you feel obligated enough to care... thus, I seem to be the single vote for option one :)

its apathy for a lost season. theres plenty of other teams fans feeling the same

as much as ppl will deny it publicly or say otherwise we'll all care again by next september (assumong there is football).

some will say they're done if kubiak is still there but they'll be right back on the bandwagon if we get a big win etc

My wife was getting pissed off and then asked me how I could just lay there on the couch and not be annoyed. I told her I didn't really want them to lose, but it really wouldn't bother me if they did. I've been there since they hit 5-7, to be honest. Despite the protestations of thunderkyss, I knew the season was over.

I don't know about that. I was actually surprised that the game was on when I joined in. I went into today thinking it was a noon game and when I turned the TV on I was surprised the Texans were playing. I wasn't even dead set on football. I just turned on the TV and went looking for something to watch, thought "It's Sunday, I wonder what the Texans did" and ran into their second half in the process.

Well said TA. I think that there are a lot of Oiler first fans on this site. I'm a little envious.....you got a signed Oiler helmet! Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I came to this realization today while I was driving home from Dallas for Christmas. I've always checked to see what time the game was, just in case I could A) make it home before kickoff if possible, or B) postpone leaving until after the game if possible. Today I didn't even check because it mattered that little to me. I got home just now to check the score to see how much we lost by.

My vote:

Sort of, but not as much as I thought I would. What's happening to me?

What the hell is happening to me??? I dealt with the Oilers losses, but always showed up and was passionate! I've been dealing with the Astros and still stayed passionate. Same for the Rockets..... For eight seasons, I was passionate about the Texans and now this in the ninth season.. I just don't care as much as I thought I would.

As JB said earlier in another thread, "Apathy has set in!"

as I put on another thread

my thoughts on the discussion of rooting for the Texans to win or for them to lose

I have no feelings on it. I am just a wingman for the Texans for 3 hours on Sunday.

It would be like Bill and I going to a gentlemens club and he starts talking to a woman and she has a friend with her.. My job is to just keep her ugly friend from being bored while Bill scores

it's what a wingman does

Its apparent to me that they mailed it in and began playing for draft position when they put that group of players including MW on IR. They should have added AJ to that list , no reason to risk him to further injury.

**** , I'd sit Schaub and Foster too ....

How odd. I didn't know the game was at 3 either.

I missed the beginning as I was watching the Jaquars lose in overtime. I had the Texans recording so I just watched the DVR version until I caught up with the commercials. And, ya' know, I switched to the Indy game with occasional peeks at Giants/Green Bay. That is so totally out of character for me. I did watch the 4th quarter.

I didn't even put out my Texan flag. That has never happened in lo these many years. I just flat didn't care enough. I'm not even depressed. This is not only odd, it is sad.

Bob may sell out again next season - if there is one - but this team is going to have to do some serious proving of itself before there is much enthusiasm going on.

Shoot I cared. I voted hell yeah. I cared that they walked the path of the plan that I want to happen right now which is for them to lose and they did. Getting beaten by a terrible Broncos Tim Tebow led team is about as gut wrenching for any team as it can be. I thought no way the Texans were going to lose this even though I knew that they could. That's the kind of thing that "might" get Smithiak gone, so that was a victory in my goal as a fan right now. Mcnair can't justify this any longer. His stance had to have changed now after these last two losses since that statement of being proud and all. Lockout or no lockout, this situation has become a disaster. It might as well be the worse one it can be if we're going to see a new regime and get a winner in here.

well i was at work i dvred it

One thing i did notice that Damion LEWIS BALLED OUT TODAY !!!!!!!!!

I was reading JB's "FML!" post, asked someone via IM "Do I really wanna know?" ... "Nope" ... "Ok"

For me, I know the truth. They will find a way to lose. My friends that follow other teams try to convince me that we will win but I know the truth. Week after week they seem surprised that I'm right.

ehhh,

I cared but not as much as usual. I found myself rooting for the Broncos at the end of the game just to hurry up and push the coaches out. At this point the only difference between 5 wins and 6 wins is draft position.

Watching and rooting for us to lose just felt wrong ,but it was necessary. Kinda like a civil war surgeon that has to cut a leg off to save his patient.

I'm with ya, TB. I think it might have a lot to do with how they lose games. They keep you emotionally invested most of the game....then they just rip your heart out. I will always care what this team does and continue to watch, but after that MNF against the titans last season I've kinda made it a point to relax and expect the worst in order to soften the blow a bit.

"Then if you don't care then you are not a true fan. You are just a bandwagon fan that only care when the Texans win! Why do you even come to this board if you "don't care":fingergun:

just thought I would get that out of the way before some yahoo did...

I hate to admit this, but a little of me wanted to see the rookie Tebow come back and win that game, just to see if he could and he did, dam it...

I'm in the "sort of" camp. It'd be nice to see a win every once in a while (what, 1 out of the last 9 games or so) but I didn't want to waste my time on the game - so I took down the Christmas lights while I listened to the game on the radio.

Must admit, I was a bit happy when they were up 17-0 and was wishing I was watching the game, but I carried on with my light duties... then the 50 cent Texans showed up and now I'm glad I didn't waste 3 hours on crap and had a productive afternoon instead.

Here is a perfect illustration of both my attitude toward this franchise right now and the way that they play the game of football:
