If they fire Kubiak they might regress...

What were the other reasons for keeping him?

5-10. Tied with Detroit and Cleveland

5-10. Behind St. Louis, Washington, Tennessee.

5-10. Denver and Buffalo breathing down their necks.

Heady company.

Detroit won three in a row. They definitly are better than us.
And they should have beaten the Bears early in the game, since the "rules" took away a TD catch from CJ which was an obvious catch in principle.

And the Lions have led in all but one game this year, I think.

The Lions are turning the corner much faster than the Texans. In fact, the Texans are moving in reverse. 1-8 since starting 4-2? Kubes has to go, as does the DC.

...but we could be 2-14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy that people think our record is somehow better. Maybe the record appears better on the surface, but this team has issues this record does not fully reflect. Without drastic changes we are destined for more of the same.

Let's not forget that Detroit was so bad a couple of years ago that they won zero games. They had to totally rebuild from nothing.

And, Cleveland and Washington have relatively new coaches, too. And, trust me, Eric Mangini is not considered a good coach by a lot of people.

Not sure what else to say here.

How could we get worse? A team of untrained monkeys could beat us blindfolded with their arms tied behind their backs.

Bills, Bengals, Broncos, and Panthers are the only teams with W/L records worse than the Texans.

The right track. The right way. What does right mean again?

the lions show what a few good high picks/elite players can do for you. thankfully we're well on our way to get one of those for our secondary. plus a lat place sched. at least we're setting ourselves up nicely for next yr instead of the usual useless end of yr pride victories

there is no rational reason to bring kubiak back.
For his own good Frank Bush should be placed in the Federal Witness Protection Program.

Give him a job akin to his qualifications. Make him the "Night Grocery Stocker" at the Walmart Supercenter in Juneau, Alaska.

Unfortunately, once again we are a year too late. There is no Eric Berry or Earl Thomas in this draft.

ha maybe if we were still in wk 13. via twitter a loss next week garuntees a top 5 pick and if certain unlikely results happen, we could even pick #2
Right now there are 4 teams with a worse record than us. 3 of those are at 4-11. There are 6 teams with the same record. If Minn. loses Tuesday there will be 7. Isn't the decider between teams with identical records SOS? We could be picking 12 or higher also.

What a total disaster. I bet Bob is regretting the decision to extend Kubiak last year big time now. The worst part is that we are even discussing if Kubiak will be back or not at this point!

Up until this year I thought this team was going in the right direction, but now I'm starting to wonder if the Texans owner is like the Lions ownership, and just totally clueless. It certainly seems like it with 9 years of crap results and Bob claiming we are going in the right direction just a couple of weeks ago, while we head towards a top 5 draft pick.

according to nfl.com we're currently 6th worst. heres what has to happen for us to end up #2:

-we lose to jags (possible as they still go to playoffs with a win and colts loss)
-denver beats sd (who have nothing to play for after losing to cincy)
-cincy beats bal (unlikely)
-bills beat jets (who are locked into wild card)
-sf beats arizona

Key phrase, 'loss next week'. You don't believe after all that has happened this year that we will win the last game? With next weeks win, we'll go from 5/6 pick to 11/12.
