Phil Simms just picked us as his upset special. :choke:
What's the line on this game? Can't imagine the Colts to be favored by much.

Unless of course there are people out there who actually do pay attention to the way we play.

Colts (-5 1/2) over the Texans at the Mirage.
So their team has been decimated by injury, we beat their ass last time, & the Colts are favored by 5 1/2.

So much for what Vegas thinks about the "New Texans"

I would argue, except we can't stop Katy High Schools offense. I think we will win, but it will be a very close game the offense cant make a single mistake on.

Colts------>in Indy------->MNF! Not a good combo!

I'm trying my best to be an optimist, BUT, our boys make it real hard when they lay down and play dead, like they did against the Cowboys and Giants. BUT, both were home games. They seem to pull off 4th quarter wonders when they're on the road, so that little flicker of hope stills burns!!

It'll be fun seeing how Cush runs the D though. That's something the Colts are not prepared for!! SEEEEEE, still trying to find the positive!!:texflag:

No - is it Ed Hochuli's crew doing the officiating?
They did our first meeting with Indy though.

Classic image I have of that game was Peyton staying down on the ground, faking like he's hurt to try and draw a flag and Hochuli just looking at him like 'oh get up'.

Remember, the NFL is pretty ticked at Indy for tanking those last games. They aren't so generous to Indy anymore like they were in the past. Anyone else noticed how less flags are being thrown for Indy and more are being thrown against them this year?

I'm not sure I agree with ya completely on this ELT. I don't think the NFL is ticked at Indy at all, esp in the SB. The NFL wanted the Saints to win the SB, to reward them for the Katrina mess. Help rebuild NO, all that stuff. I had this little gut feeling that Indy was encouraged to TANK the SB. Crap, anyone with any football knowledge at all could sense something was OFF with last years SB! No way in hell did we see the typical Colts team that we have seen in years past. Something just did not feel right. I know, I'm probably a little paranoid, and will get blasted for this train of thought, but, I'm also honest with my opinions, and last years SB STUNK to high heavens!!

That little something was a fairly reffed game. No bogus Pass Intereference calls to keep the ball in Indy's hands, No roughing the passer penalties. I don't think they really wanted New Orleans to win that bad because New Orleans ruined their dream of a Manning/Favre Super Bowl. They did favor the Saints because Indy tanked the last few games and ruined their chance for the undefeated season. I guarantee you that if Manning is 18-0 going into that Super Bowl, there would've been a holding penalty on the INT oro something. The NFL knew there were 5 possible great stories:

Brett Favre going to The Super Bowl at the age of 80 (or however old he is).
Indy 18-0 chance for undefeated season
Favre/Manning
New Orleans winning first ever Super Bowl
Manning winning 2nd Super Bowl Trophy.

The first 3 couldn't happen so New Orleans was next on the list with a worse case scenario being having to talk about Manning winning his 2nd straight Super Bowl.

I believe my theory is true though. Look at it:
Fairly reffed Super Bowl
Fairly reffed opening game, with Texans winning
Fairly reffed Jville game, with Jville winning
Fairly reffed Chiefs game with Indy having to pull that out.

Now go back and look at a few of our games from last year before Indy was beat. I recall the bogus Jacque Reeves pass interference call.
If anything The NFL has decided that it's stories are done with Indy.

I think you underestimate how much of a factor home field advantage is as to the line.

It was a clean hit every sports channel in the country would have been talking about if there was a flag. Hochuli was telling Manning to get up or he would have to take an injury time out and leave the field.

I know it was a clean hit but back in the day that would've been a flag on us.

Maybe they're just as tired as the rest of us of all the PM/EM commercials!:)

The NFL does love a good story, that is very true. Both the Manning boys got the Lombardi, Farve is losing his luster, the Saints are proving to be a "one year" wonder, NO team is going undefeated this year, the Cowboys only claim this year will be winning the "Texas shootout!" UGH, that one still hurts!! SOOOOO, maybe it's time for the NFL to find a new story. May the football gawds above let us be on their good side!!

A sweep of The Colts will be a nice start.

Bad calls happen every game. The difference I am seeing, is that the Texans
aren't losing their composure after such calls. Last year, the team would
come unglued, and completely lose focus and ultimately the game. I even saw
the Texans rushing to the line on close plays, to avoid "challenges." This
is a nice adjustment.

They need to keep up the good work, and keep the game out of the hands
of the refs. That's what good teams do.

Vegas sets the line not at what they think the score is going to be, but what will get the bets fair on both sides of the line. I have a feeling a lot of people bet on the Colts regardless of the injury situation because they are the Colts and have had a history of winning. The Texans just aren't consistent enough to be considered winners.

Either way, I don't think much defense is going to be played by either team.

Look at the bright side, the betting line started at 6.:kitten:
If the line started at (-6) Colts, and moved to (-5 1/2), that means Vegas had to adjust due to more $$$ coming in on the Texans. Some people, as you suggested, will just make bets on the favorite teams. But the "smart money" favored the Texans early in the week.
