The Houston Texans are seeking potential reinforcements at linebacker due to injuries.

The Texans worked out five linebackers on Tuesday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

That includes former Miami Dolphins linebackers Erik Walden and Chris McCoy as well as Donovan Woods, Quinton Culbertson and Stanford Kegler.

The Texans also worked out wide receivers Paul Williams and Mike Jones.

The Texans wound up signing none of the players who tried out, but did re-sign sixth-round rookie offensive guard Shelley Smith to the practice squad.

Smith was cut over the weekend.

The Texans cut wide receiver Bobby Williams from the practice squad to create a roster spot for Smith

Don't know if he can play, but Paul Williams could sing.

I still say he's a little undersized to be an NFL WR.

The Texans also worked out wide receiver Mike Jones.

Played against him in HS. He was a QB then, was a stud WR and baseball player at ASU, and I think he spent some time with us in training camp last year.

Hope he catches on somewhere.

we need to go get Domique Eddison off the Titans practice sqaud. Dude is 6'3 with 4.37 speed and good hands.

Similar sizes, silimilar weights, similar characteristic strengths of good hands and speed. Eddison's 40 was actually 4.36 and Williams' 4.37. However, a big knock on Williams is that he's not worth a flip at blocking.
