Great to see. The Texans have a huge mountain to climb this year and the rookies are going to need every second of practice they can get to be ready for the season.

Here's hoping that the Quin/Jackson pairing is the talk of the league this year.

Great job on both sides to get this done. I really like that he's in because he's got a heck of a September waiting for him.

On the other hand, how many of you would actually like to see a guy take his time and get this contract right? I'm tired of all these second year players holding out because they feel they outplayed their rookie contract?

There are or have been second year players holding out? Who?

Good thing, cuz i just had to hear an ear full from a Cowboy fan talking crap about our secondary and how Romo, Austin, and Bryant were going to pound it.

I wonder how many Girls' vets run to pick up Bryant's pads up off the ground as he's left splayed out on the field.:kitten:

I will be so incredibly happy if he outplays his contract.

Wow, yall even had the exact same title, word for word, except for one "." at the end of the 2nd one

Very excited to have him signed. Every practice will make a difference. We are in a position where we have to count on him, and not holding out is a big first step in that process. Here's hoping to a great career.

He'll be a second year player locked out because his contract was too high, as all first rounders' contracts are.

He hasn't signed yet, which he wasnt there this morning. Kubiak expects him to be there this afternoon though.

Something that I never really focused in on, NBC Sports wrote:

Texans agreed to terms with No. 20 overall pick CB Kareem Jackson on a five-year contract.

Jackson, a three-year starter in Nick Saban's pro-style offense at Alabama, has been the Texans' starter at right corner "since the day he got off the plane in Houston." He'll join promising second-year left cornerback Quin Glover, who didn't allow a touchdown pass after he entered the starting lineup in Week 4 last season. The rebuilt Texans' secondary is looking up.

All that's been reported [AP] so far:

Houston took Jackson with the 20th overall pick in the draft. He missed the Texans' first training camp workout on Friday morning, but coach Gary Kubiak said Jackson would be officially signed and ready for the second practice of the day in the afternoon.

Apparently, Molden was running with the first team this morning... So, as usual, John McClain's article was in error on Chron.com. He did not sign the deal but only agreed to terms.
He may have still signed but due to the fact is sounds as if he signed around 5:30 he may have missed a meeting or two that prevented him from suiting out this morning.

.....................or simply McClain in his need to "scoop" everyone else, ran with what he THOUGHT would happen BEFORE it happened.

keep him matched up with AJ @ all times....If he can hold his own against him by the end of training camp & preseason, none of those other bums (i'm looking at you cowboy's WRS) he'll see in regular season should scare him.
