Tim Tebow: The Phenomenal Saga of His 2010 Denver Broncos Role

If Josh McDaniels has a Jesus Christ complex persona, he and Tim Tebow could be a match made in heaven, considering opposites attract.

This dynamic duo compliments each others radically extreme yin & yang personas in a highly explosive fashion. One can’t help but wonder if the heat of this dynamic duo will galvanize the locker room and torn fan base or cause the aspirations of the Broncos faithful to go up in flames.

Tebow, the soft-spoken home grown son of an Eagle Scout has a persona that appears to be the on the opposite end of the spectrum of one Josh ‘Lord Vader’ McDaniels; apprentice of Bill ‘Dark Lord of the Sith’ Belichick himself.

I can hear McDaniels now, "Tim, I am your father."

Can Tim Tebow bring Josh McDaniels persona back from the dark side of the twilight zone? That is clearly the Jedi’s No. 1 intent.

"I definitely want to repay Coach McDaniels for the faith he showed in me. I want to be a great quarterback, I want to pursue that. I've wanted to be a quarterback in the NFL for a great many years. That's my goal and has been my goal since I was 6 years old,” Tebow said.

“I'm thankful to Coach McDaniels for having the strength and the voice in me, to choose me and to believe in me. I'm just thankful for that and obviously I do, for the next few years, repay him for what he did for me and believing in me.”

“That's going to be my greatest joy in Denver is going to be to repay Coach McDaniels for believing in me. That's something that's always been very important to me, is my relationship with coaches. Our connection means more to me than anything else."

As a Jag Fan I wouldn't know, I gave up that habit a long time ago. I may be a glutton for punishment, but that gig was way too brutal for this cat.

As a Jags fan, are you sad that your team picked a 2nd round prospect over Tebow in the 1st?
I'd rather pick up a "2nd round prospect" in the 1st....then submit to the pressure of the local idiots and draft a 4th round prospect in the 1st round.

Tyson Alualu will be a better NFL player than Tim "The project" Tebow.

Agreed. The city of Los Angeles will enjoy Alualu on their team.

The Bronco's play the Titans in week 4 of the season. If Tebow's starting by then, the Universe may get confused about which QB should win and just implode in on itself. Perhaps that's the real reason for the sinkhole.

If picking that 4th round prospect in the 1st keeps your franchise in the city, I would have no problem with it. The team is losing lots of money and Tebow really could have been their savior.

You suck!!!!!!!! TOOOOOOL Don't you ever hop back on the Jags..ever!

The Promise:

To the fans and everybody in
Gator Nation, I’m sorry.
I’m extremely sorry. We were
Hoping for an undefeated season,
That was my goal, something
Florida has never done here.

I promise you one thing, a lot
Of good will come out of this.
You will never see any player in
The entire country play as hard
As I will play the rest of the
Season. You will never see
Someone push the rest of the
Team as hard as I will push
Everybody the rest of the season.

You will never see a team
Player harder than we will
The rest of the season.

God Bless!

Thank you Carrbombed!...you stated, exactly the way I would! You don't save a franchise with one player either.

If the Jags stooped to pick Tebow in the 1st for "tebow lovers" then truely the franchise is dead. I like Tebow a lot, I am a Gator fan...but not "one" guy going to be the savior. Football is a team sport, if you have played the game, you would understand. What the Jags are doing will benefit in them next 2 years...Tebow might turn out to be a superstar?...that's the risk/reward? Tebow might be holding a clipboard for the next 2 years?

Fans like Jagsbch is reason why we have blackout issues. If this guy gave up on the Jags, then so be...
All joking and ribbing aside and I've said this before: If the Jags were to leave I would feel truly sorry for the die hard fans of Jacksonville (such as you) - as I know what it's like to have your hometown team leave. It leaves an emptiness, plain and simple, and I don't wish that on anyone....... Well, except maybe Nashville of course.

I'll be rooting for Tebow. I think it's sad how many people want him to fail b/c ESPN hypes him up so much. Sure he professes his belief in God a lot. I'd much rather have that then drug allegations, gun charges, domestic abuse, strip club incidents, and the whole slew of what other NFL players do. He's a good guy and I always root for them (see being Texans fan ;)).

As to the Jags - I think Alualu will be a stud. I really saw a 3-4 team picking him up in the late 1st b/c I think he'd be awesome to move around along the DL. I think he'll be a big reason for the success of the D, regardless of what his stat sheet says.

LOL at SuperMario's comment: the city of L.A. classic!

I think we all saw why Tebow to the Jags would have made sense. If for nothing more than marketing potential. Hell... that's why the Rockets have Yao Ming right!?

Yes, Tyson Alualu was a reach but from what I've seen, I think he has a chance to become worthy of his first round status. He's not a lazy bum, in fact, he is a speedy DT who can get pass blocks and make plays.

As for Tebow, you can't hate this guy! I despised him but after taking into account what he has done as a Gator and his team-first attitude, I'm his biggest fan and wish him luck.

Tebow to the Jags, is Like VY to the Texans. Both would have helped for the short term goals/sales, but in the long run...
But in the long run... if I where you I would just throw that crystal ball of yours against the wall and watch it smash...:kitten:

As you may very well know, Jack has been experimenting with the 3-4 so this could be just another step in that direction considering that nearly half of the teams in the league have switched because of how much more effective the 3-4 is against the pass.

The 4-3 is more run oriented base defense, so I think that we will be seeing more and more teams take on this trend this being a copy cat league and all... :bender::bender::bender::bender::bender:

Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos agreed to terms of a five-year, $33 million deal, including $8.7 million guaranteed.

Tim Tebow was the 25th selection of the 2010 NFL Draft.

The 25th selection of the 2009 NFL Draft, former Illinois Fighting Illini Vontae Davis cornerback of the Miami Dolphins, signed a 5-year $13.3 million deal, with $7.35M guaranteed.

Tebow's agent, Jimmy Sexton, was reportedly seeking more money for his client, than the Dallas Cowboys gave to WR Dez Bryant, who was the 24th overall pick.

Well as you can see Sexton did just that and more. $21 Million dollars more. WOW

Early reports predicted Tebows contract would be worth about $12 million with roughly $8 million guaranteed.

Dez Bryan who was picked just one selection ahead of Tebow only managed to make $11.8 million deal that includes $8.5 million in guaranteed over five years.

Former Georgia tech Demaryius Thomas, remains the sole rookie from the Broncos 2010 draft class who did who has yet to sign.

I'd hate to think Thomas' agent would make an attempt to trump the premium the former Florida Gator received, due to being selected 3 positions in the draft ahead of Tebow.

Tebow is considered by many to be arguably the greatest football player to ever play at the collegiate level.

Quarterbacks tend to get paid a premium, and when you are the most decorated quarterback in college football history that premium can get jacked up even more as we have certainly seen today.

The premium paid for Tebow is escalated even further when you consider the fact that the Broncos gave up 3 draft selections to move up from the second-round of the draft into the first-round.

The trade was made with the Baltimore Ravens who possessed the 25th selection. Broncos gave up their second-round selection No.43, Third-round selection No. 70 and fourth-round selection No. 114 for Tim Tebow.

"I definitely want to repay Coach McDaniels for the faith he showed in me," Tebow said after being drafted. "I want to be a great quarterback, I want to pursue that.

Well It looks like you are well on your way Tim. Congratulations, you certainly are a truly blessed man.

first he became a big reach, a player that was given a late 3rd early 4th grade taken in the first round was crazy.

Second he is soo over-hyped by the media and fans

Now he is overpaid, Im not a Tim Tebow hater. Yeah I dislike him because now he is a pony but he is way over-ratted by the broncos

Denver: Head Coach Josh McDaniels was entertaining the notion of taking a quarterback by committee approach after Tim Tebow made it a very 'Good Friday' for the Broncos Training Camp session today.

"You know, I haven't ever used more than one quarterback in the NFL. I don't think that's something that can't be done if you choose to do it," McDaniels said.

"Certainly people have speculated about, you know, how we may or may not use him in those roles, but since we haven't really done any of it in pads, I haven't had the opportunity to evaluate what that may do for our team. It's hard to say exactly if we would feel that way too."

Sounds to me as if McDaniels can't wait to get these players in pads to evaluate how his new quarterback by committee philosophical approach for the 2010 season is going to work.

"You know, there's going to be some things that he can obviously do that the other two can't in that regard. How much we do or don't do will depend on how productive we are at it," McDaniels said.

Kyle Orton was arguably the dink and dunk king last season, considering how his short passing game got him jacked all the way up to the 14th best Quarterback ranking in the NFL last season.

We are not likely see Kyle Orton throw 50-60 yard passes ten yards off the ground on a frozen rope to a receiver in stride.

This is where Tim Tebow comes in; he has been known to do that a time or two, the rookie has a cannon for an arm.

Tebow is highly accurate as well, he broke the NCAA Division 1A 4-year quarterback passer efficiency rating record; this factor will most certainly help keep the safeties from stacking the box while Tebow is the quarterback.

Tebow being a proven deep passing threat, will help to spread out defenses and open up running lanes to the Broncos rushing attack as well.

Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels has created a ferociously competitive atmosphere, which has intrigued fans who are anticipating various outcomes of the roster spot battle's in training camp.

JJ Arrington has become yet another casualty in the war for a roster spot.

McDaniels hopes that these hard fought battles translates into success come game day.

His players have to be hardened, not only from the battle that comes from within, but by his no holds barred tactic of pulling the trigger on any player who is not dialed into his dynasty frame of mind; no matter how popular they are.

While I don't hate or even dislike Tebow (although I do hate his school, Florida), I'm feeling uncomfortable with all the unnatual man-love spread throughout this thread. It feels like one big circle jerk.

Fortunately we have previous experience with a very similar situation.
