To start it off. This team has a chance to go all the way ,but so do the Rams Raiders Lions ,and so on. Its all about game day you can say the night before the big game oh the 16 - 0 Patriots are going to cream the Giants ,but no the giants pulled the giant upset that no one could beleve but the team.Let me say this it dont mater if you have Four andre johnsons peyton maning chris johnson and so on you can do amazing things with the worse players ever. This being said theres a hell of alot of mabys in predictions.

Texans record 11-5 to 12 - 4

the thing is no one is for shur injurys take place or we may just suck you never know.

Hmm...a step back SIAB.

You've lost the magic touch of the Dickerson post I think.

I'm unsure as to how you can decide the winners of 2nd half of the season games, before a snap of pre-season football has been played, but still, your optimism can't be beaten.

I don't agree with your 'must win' first game. I don't think we 'have' to win this one, BUT we have to be so competitive that its close. If we had lost to the Jets by a couple last year, instead of rolling over, our season would not have been derailed so badly....it just installed a losers mentality. With Cushing out, and players still making their comeback from injuries, I would take a gutsy performance, although obviously a win would give us a massive push.

As for week two, I don't see McNabb being 'on fire' in his second regular season game with the Skins...I think they'll be a team who get stronger and stronger throughout the year, and I'd prefer to be playing them when we are, than later on in the season.

But like everyone, I'm no 'shur' yet.

I agree with SIAB, we have to win the 1st game. Can not allow the Colts and the others in the division to own us, and we must win the division games at home. Period.

Until we can win in our division with regularity we are not a playoff team. So IMO game 1 is a must win game.

We can get by with 4-2 or 3-3 in the division, provided we continue playing against non division teams as we have been over the past 2 seasons. Plus its not as if playing at the Colt's has made our performances terrible - we've just found ways to lose games, whilst outplaying them at most times.

The most important thing is that we come out the gates playing well. I will take us coming out and playing like we were in the last few games last season, over bumbling to a win in a battle of who wants to lose more.

I think this team needs motavation to get where there going. So far we are on a 4 game wining streak. If we count last year

Example of why we need motavation

1.
gary kubiak should of been fired if we lost the last 3 - 4 games of the last season if you ask me

result
team rallied around kubiak and got 4 wins to finish the season saveing him his job if you ask me and first wining season and chance at playoffs

Heck if you look at the saints! They had Katrina ,and that year they made the playoffs.

Thats why im saying beating the colts may just jolt us to were we need to be
,and for the texans starting slow is never good.

Unfortunately, last year's too late win streak will not count towards the 2010 standings.

I think we overuse the term "must win game". Obviously, if we lose, it's not the end of the season.
And if the Texans win, there are still 15 games left to be played. Still, one would think that defeating the Colts in the season opener could give the team a jolt of confidence, yet to be seen.

I'll concur with SIAB here. It's definitely a must-win game if we hope to be contenders for the AFC South title. And we all know, 100% of division winners make the playoffs. If we don't win this first game, we'll be chasing Indy all season.

Sometimes it seems like the preseason games are must-wins. Then every week is the game of the year. Surely by the 2nd half of our 1st preseason game we will know exactly how far we're going this year.

I think it is very possible for Texans to go 4-0. If the team is not ready to go after the flop last season, some coaches ought to be standing in front of McNair. Cushing's return in 5th game at home against Giants should be a huge psychological benefit. 5-0 or 4-1 at the bye. Still early but I am floating a 12-4 season as of now.

We play 7 games before the bye.

Can we at least agree at this point, the Colts game is the most important game of the year?

I can't say for sure at this point it's the most important, but it will surely set the tone for the rest of the season IF we can beat the Colts early (A team we've struggled to close out wins against).

I'm not saying it'd be a season killer either if we lost.

It's the first game of the season, which at this time is the most important game of the season. Like the ol cliche says, take it game by game

Thanks but according to schedule above we play Colts, Skins, Dallas, Oakland, Giants and KC, 6 not 5 not 7. My error was in debating with myself over Giants and finally deciding we could beat them and forgot to add a win at Chiefs. What was your error?

I have to say that I unfortunately disagree a bit. I don't forsee a great season ahead of us, unless other teams have really faultered. I truely hope I'm wrong and they come out like gangbusters.

SIAB - great job on the post.

Every game is a must win 20 and o let's do something special

Except for pre season we can loss al thoes who cares lol

As much as I'd love the Texans to go 4-0 to start the season, I just ain't feeling it. I'm sensing an opening day loss again. I'm guessing no better than 2-2.
