Kris Jenkins yelling at Texans fans

iam sure no one on the texans roster has forgotten this i hope they come to play the jets this year with ........Cerbal Vengence !!!!!

god the stands are totally empty. Way to go Houston "avid" football fans. Every "biggest game in Texans history" we have the results are the same. Is "playoffs" what it's going to take? Or would a 7-2 record bring people out to kickoff?

How do you know this wasn't near the end of the game. Fans leaving early isn't exclusive to Houston.

I'd like to play...

If you play in high quality and pause around the 10 second mark. Magnify as much as possible without blurrying the picture... looks like a 4th and 2 coming up. I do need more people looking at it for confirmation. It's really really tough to see but SOMEBODY should be able to see.

I looked at the play by play at NFL.com. there were three 4th and 2s. Two coming right before the half. Another at the 5:55 mark in the 3rd. I'm hoping folks were just going to beat the halftime beer rush.

well can't be early in the game (based on gameday thread)

Just looked in the stands, and they are

FULLA DEN A MUVA FUVVA!!!

Houston has some of the best fans in the NFL.
We just need our team to start matching us.

Here's a pic at 10:10 mark in the 4th.

Here's one from the 1st quarter.

Did people leave early? Yes. The exodus began after Thomas Jones' TD run. I had given up on the game earlier, and I was watching Kubiak on the sideline, exclusively. He remained about 20-30 yards from the LOS, rarely interacting with players or other coaches. Still a sore spot with me. Barrett can blame who he wants for the Texans inability to make the playoffs (Colts, Bengals, Texan fans). I know whom I'm blaming.

Both Jenkins and the fans who gave Jones the finger were wrong. Call me weird but when I am at a game I don't even boo the other team. I feel as if I'm there to respectfully watch the game. When the other team scores they are booed. Why? Last I checked that was the the goal of the game and you should not get angry at the other team because they are just doing their job. If their is anyone who the fans should boo it should be their own team but I don't even boo them because they have worked hard to get where they are and I would not want anyone to come to my job and boo me. I wish all players and fans would respect each other and just go out and play the game and have fun if you are a fan. I still cheer on my favorite team when they do well during the game and get angry when they lose don't get me wrong but I don't blame the other team because my team had key injuries or just layed a big fat egg out there or even because the refs had an impact on the game. I do not take it out on the other team their fans at all I just say good game and move on because it is not their fault and on Monday morning I am already excited about the next game JMO.

Now that's some evidence. Point taken. I was at the game, I don't remember feeling like the place was full. I'm sitting in the 600's. Those were are all field level shots and you can barely count Mezza fans anyway. I will admit that half full Mezza seating is pretty awesome!

Here's a few from the same excellent bullpen photo source.

This is from the first series. If we can assume that this snapshot is a "snapshot" of the stadium seating in the first series we can deduce that there are mutliple groups of empty seats even in the easy to get to first level seats where as up top there are many, many more.

DSC_1516.jpg

Here's yet another.

I don't think complaining that Reliant stadium isn't full would find much challenge most of the time. I'm glad to see the jewelry rattlers were in their seats late in the 1st. This fan base is taxed with lethargy and an inability to break down their tailgating at a reasonable time. It's a real issue. You guys that are in your seats at kickoff know exactly what I'm talking about. The place is half full at times. Even during the "Biggest game in Texans Histroy" games Texans fans struggle to find their seats by kickoff.

I've seen post from fans that are at ground level before and often times there is a discrepancy between their perceptions of the stadiums "fullness" and mine up in 600. I'll be sitting in the bullpen for several games this year. (Please come and say hello or tell me what you really think of me:).) I'm curious to see if my perception is altered as well.

As to Lucky's take on Kubiak's sideline positioning, It's very possible that he's trying to dig us out with the playbook that he designed. You have to admit that as a realistic possibility.

There are several factors that contributed to the Texans missing the playoffs. Where Gary Kubiak was standing after the Thomas Jones TD was not one of them.

Have a safe and fun 4th of July everyone.

Also, one other point I'd like to make is football just like any other sport is just a game so just enjoy watching it.

Yup. Good point. Football is just a game.

However, for all the fans that get upset when an opposing player gets into the endzone: be mad at your own D for allowing it. Don't be mad at Peyton for throwing Tds. Be mad at your D for allowing him to. No QB can throw tds when he is wrapped up and sacked afterall.

Your team went out and messed up so blame them not the other team who is getting pay to preform. I agree fans spend money on tickets and sales and should be pissed when the team plays like crap but if that becomes a problem every week then I'll just stay home. But I won't ever boo the other team for just doing their job. I'll sure write letter to mine though explaining how I feel and will not renew my season tickets that is for sure. If your team contines to go out there and lays an egg and you continue to go to the game and waste your money there is not anyone to blame but you JMO.

I don't see the need to give the finger to a player for doing what he's supposed to do...should have given the finger to whoever didn't tackle Thomas Jones instead.

I don't know if I'd go that far but maybe I would. I'd surely be an angry at my own team though and not the other JMO.

It's a sports venue...The opposing team will get the finger and get called names by the fans...

The opposition is heckled and boo'd from start to finish...Has absolutely nothing to do with assigning blame for bad plays....

Thomas Jones didn't get the finger because he scored...He got the finger because he plays for the JETS...

It'd be one thing if after the game people called sports talk shows and logged into message boards and complained about how Thomas Jones played...But that didn't happen...

Game time emotions are game time emotions....

I always tailgate. Then go to the cantina for a couple of drinks with several friends and rarely make it to my seats on time. It doesn't make me less of a fan. He** the Texans dont show up until the 2nd half mst of the time anyway. Why should I show up early?

Look at the Jets game as a perfect example.

Look fans are giving Uncle Bob ther hard earned $$$ and should be able to do what they want at the game. As long as they're being respectful.

I would fell differently if I hadn't watched 8 yrs of medicore at best football. While spending thousands of $$$ on a subpar on field product.

I am sorry but I don't give a darn what the reason is the finger is wrong and very rude. I respect the fact he's not on my team and move on. Being a Jet does not give anyone the right to flick someone else off. I understand fans buy their tickets and have every right to do and say what they want it's fine with me but that does not mean I think it is right nor fair. If you like that type of thing you go right ahead and be my guest but you won't ever see me engaged in it. That is just not the way I roll. Now if a player argues with me then you bet I'm going to let them know who is boss. I ain't no whimp that is for sure but I'll never be the one to start any mess. I'll just cheer on my team when they win and congratulate the other team and their fans when they win all in good taste JMO.

I am not saying don't be mad at Bob by any means. You pay big bucks then you have every right to be angry but take it out on the right person which is not the other team or their fans. Just be mad at your team and more directly the FO of your favorite team as it is their job and their job only to put the best product out there on the field that's all JMO.

I'm not mad at anybody.

I will continue to what I always do at games and think it's complete BS of other fans to ? my fandom because I'm not in my seat at kickoff.

How about the Texans becoming a true SB contender. Instead of telling the fans for the last 3 yrs how this is is the year we're going to make playoffs and then disapointing the fan base once again. They're going to have to prove it on the field next year.

Next year is going to be a make or break year for me as far as season tickets go. If they fail to make the playoffs and do not hire a proven winner that will be the end for me. Although I will always be a Texans fan. The frustration level will be too geat at that point.

PS I always think this during the offseason with regards to season tickets and I always come back for more. Just the ay Uncle Bob likes it. LOL

They aren't off to a great start. (Cushing suspension)

I'm just chatting not really talking about you directly. If I were a season ticket holder after eight or nine seasons of missing the playoffs I'd be fed up and probably would not renew my season tickets untill my team proved otherwise. I'd just invest my hard earned money elsewhere while watching the game in my own home and eat my own BBQ.

Souds like a great plan Gary.

The last few years I feel like the Texans organization has sold its fans a bill of goods.

I'm buying. I've been well entertained during the Smithiak regime. Happy endings? No. Well, actually I was pretty damn happy sitting at that bar outside Reliant until the 2nd Quarter of the Cincy - Jets game.

OF COURSE we want the Texans to win. Have we been well entertained over the last 4 years? You bet.

The fans have the freedom to do whatever they choose to do I just said I'd stop buying my season tickets as an exsample that's all but I'm not stopping you or anyone else.

If you have 70,000 people going to one place...some are not going to make it for a variety of reasons and people are not always going to be in their seats!

Reliant is always almost full during the games, they sell out every game but that does not mean that every single seat is filled.

Come one people I thought we have gone over this many times of the years!
:bat:

I think what we need more is a atmospheric change..Some times I'm at the game, and its just so..laid back. I don't know if its due to the corporate tickets being sold, or the majority are just not that rabid..But if we can capture the NE/Texans final game spirit in a bottle... :fingergun:

Well IMO, if you are at the game, be it 1st or 4th quarter, you need to be at the game and in full participation. There is no way that I as Houston Texan fan, in Houston Texan Reliant stadium, should be waived to sit down and looked at annoyingly by other Texans fans when I'm yelling "D-fense" in the fourth quarter and our team is only down by 10 points.

I remember that guy giving Jones the one finger salute. Pretty much how I felt too, as I drove 270 miles to attend that pitiful game. Although mine would have been centered towards Kubiak for not having the guys ready to play.

At least you were yelling something postive.

It's things like this. Or the guy who told me not to high five the people around us. One guy, telling 10 to stop. Wtf mayn? :aggressive:

Hell, I gave the finger to several opposing players, coaches, fans, and even the water boys. I made the Cleveland Browns waterboy so mad that his players were cracking up at him.

The only people that are safe from my finger launching are the refs and Texans players.

That's just ridiculous. I mean you are going to a public event. It's going to be a little loud. Most of those people have been sitting in the same seat for 8 years now. They are going to talk to each other. Some people go to the game thinking the crowd is going to be like Madden and only cheer when they score a TD.

I also trip out on how many opposing fans are in the stadium compared to us. There should never be that many Detroit Lions fans in a stadium.

That sucks.

Yeah it does, the usher came down and talked to me and several other folks sitting around me, and in the end he got a laugh out of it. He told me not to sweat it. The guy that "reported" me got pissed, and left, lol.

He didn't deserve to be there anyway IMO.

Houston is just a laid back city....

This is just an observation that I have made (and I could be totally off base), but to me it seems like a lot of people who grow up in the south are kind of shy/reserved whereas people on the east and west coast tend to be more outgoing and loud....

It all depends but in general I agree.

However the west coast has a lot of laid back cities and for sure a laid back vibe.

East coast is not laid back thats for sure, even Miami isn't really laid back for being a beach city.
