KT, do you want to assign the teams? Since I am the organizer I think someone else can select the teams so we all feel it is fair.

I am playing catch up at work and will only be intermittently checking in today, didn't Pencil Neck have a system?

Thanks kiwi. It looks like beerlover is on the clock as of now. Kiwi is on deck with beerlover back up after that.

I guess me getting the Texans makes up for me getting 2 teams, with one of them not having a 1st rounder. lol.

Random is, as random does.

Some quick research has revealed the Lions are awful.

The only spot not crying for help is QB.

Word up guys. Sheesh 3 teams, I've got my work cut out. In stunning news, the Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49'ers and the Cincinnati Bengals have made an unprecedented 4 team trade. Their combined 4 first round picks in the 2010 NFL draft have been traded to the Houston Texans. It is being reported through Jedi-like mind tricks employed by Super Mario, the Texans GM, the team will give up their two 6th rd picks to DEN and CIN, while trading their 5th and 7th to SF. Super Mario has already been nominated for GM of the Year and is on the fast track to win the Nobel Prize.

Sweet! Time to do some damage.

Haha. Yeah I had them last year and took Stafford and a Britton in round 1. They needed help everywhere.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Lions do in the 2010 Draft. I only wish they addressed their offensive line issues by taking Michael Oher instead of the tight end. Schwartz seems to be high on Jeff Backus and I wonder if their left guard is the real problem on their offensive line.

with the first pick in the 2010 NFL Draft the St. Louis Rams select -

Yeah, OG is more of an issue for them.....

They really need to try and get out of this spot.

The Lions reluctantly come to the podium, being unable to find a willing trade partner for this pick.

First they looked at the BPA, Suh. However they have spent quite a bit of effort in trading for Corey Williams and pursuing free agent DTs meaning that this is not a glaring need on a pretty talentless team.

They then turned to Berry, the next BPA. However can you really justify drafting a S #2 overall? Considering they already have one good young safety in Louis Delmas, it might be better for them to try to add talent somewhere else.

That brings us to Okung, however Backus is well regarded by the staff and is probably the best lineman they have.

However, someone has to be picked, so the Lions suck it up and go with.....

Ndamokung Suh, DT, Nebraska.

ndomination-suh.jpg

He is simply the best prospect in this draft, Williams and Suh are a great tackle tandem and Schwartz likes him some defense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the Third pick in the 2010 NFL Draft select - DT Gerald McCoy

And I bet they run to the podium just as fast as possible.

Alright, Raiders, Falcons, and Packers. I can do this.

I will be on within my 6th hour time limit, so no worries.

Raiders, this is going to be fun!

TexansSeminole had to back out due to time constraints. So we will need to divy up his 3 teams.

Pittsburgh Steelers - TexansSeminole
New York Giants - TexansSeminole
Miami Dolphins - TexansSeminole

Pencil Neck and myself have 2 teams, with one of them not having a first round pick, so we can take 2 of them. And the third one can go to anyeone else who wants it that only has 2 teams right now.

TPN, what team do you want?

Shaft75 is still on the clock until 7PM then

KT and the Chiefs can pick if they want. 7PM Monday - 11AM Tuesday

I expect Pioli to be working the phones for a trade down. Their major needs are the middle of the defense and this to early for any of the other DTs, and as folks are talking that taking a Safety is too early at the 5th position it would stand to reason that an ILB would be early here as well. Clausen will no doubt be mentioned with Weis aboard, but that selection would ding Pioli's ego and put a lot of money at the QB position with the Cassel contract.

BPA at a need position suggests you take a consistent high impact player from HS to College, who could play multiple positions, Monte Kiffin tutored, comes with high integrity and is a pedigree player.

With the 5th selection the Chiefs take Eric Berry, S, Tennessee

I had him frozen because his Dad and I were going to coach together .

With the 6th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Seahawks select...

Trent Williams, OT

TrentWilliams.jpg

After Okung, Bryan Bulaga is the next highest rated offensive tackle but what seperates Trent Williams from everyone including Okung is his ability to use his hands and punch. Williams plays with a mean streak and will do an excellent job protecting Charlie Whitehurst or whoever is under center, not to mention he can play Guard and Center.

Let's keep this rolling...

The Cleveland Browns select Joe Haden CB Florida . He was the top CB until the combine but ran a 4.5 . He's since ran a 4.4 and the Browns need a CB in the worst way . Earl Thomas was tempting but a two year starter at safety is a gamble when you need a cb .

I still like Haden to the Browns. When he dropped to my Broncos at 11 I was shocked. Good pick.
