Cowboys starting it....

Their annual December swoon, down 14 after Giants punt return for a TD. Looking like a loss against a team that hasn't been playing well and the schedule only gets nastier.

Could be that or just their annual beat down at the hand of the Giants...lol.

Oh, and this season ...

yes! at least i wont have to hear from all the cowboy fans here in austin about how the cowboys are going to the super bowl

I prefer to call it Wade's last stand.

Maybe the Cowboys AND Texans will both have new HC's next year.

Where were these threads the last few weeks...nevermind

Romo looked good. It's the defense. They get leads and act like game is over. They did this last year. In reality I didn't expect to win this one but they should have. Wade just isn'r going to get it done in my book. I like Jenkins and some of the young talent..just something missing. I still think they make the playoffs but don't expect alot.

Who gives a crap about the Cowboys. Every time you hate on them all you are doing is putting them on a pedestal. Out of sight out of mind. I mean at least the Dallas/Houston angle has play in the NBA where the Rockets and Mavericks are in the same division and regularly compete against each other. I will never understand the Cowboy obsession on this board.

Word. Especially when the obsession never presents itself when they are winning. It is comical at times.

As far as the game...the Cowboys deserved to lose. I've read a few articles about some non-calls. I agree there was a big ass hold on Jacobs TD run and on some other plays but that isn't what beat us. Not tackling, brain farts before half and letting them have life when they were going through the motions before 3 minutes left in the half is what killed us.

Well, don't visit the thread then. Simple as that. I can explain my hatred of the Cowboys, not sure what everybody else's are. Growing up in Houston, being an Oilers fan, I didn't quite understand how tons of people were Cowboy fans and not fans of their hometown team. So my disdain grew from there. Also, the arrogance of a lot of those same fans, like it was their God given right to win super bowls. I work with a lot of these same type fans, and I'm in New Mexico for God's sake!

Lived in New Mexico for awhile, there are Cowboy fans out there for some reason, had a good friend who was a Cowboy "fan" that was an Ohio transplant living in NM. That is the luxury, for lack of a better term, of living in an area that has no team to call it's own-you can pick and choose who you go for. I would wager that not many of those "pick em'" fans would know a Randy White from a Bob Lily.
Should have seen all the Cowboy gear go in the closet and the Bronco gear come out when Denver won it's 2 Super Bowls, I lived in NM when that happened and when the Boy's were doing their thing in the 90's, the transition was funny yet predictable.

Bye Wade. Time to get a new coach Jerry. In a sea of mediocre NFL football teams the Cowboys are just another!

that tremendous sucking sound you hear to the north, is the football team in the Jerry Land stinking up December yet again.

nice homecoming for LT, and Rivers looked All-Pro today.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)-Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware(notes) sprained his neck when he slammed headfirst into a San Diego Chargers lineman Sunday.

Ware was immobilized on a stretcher, carted off the field and taken to the hospital for X-rays and further evaluation.

The Cowboys, who provided the diagnosis of a sprained neck, also said Ware was “aware and alert with full movement and strength in his extremities.”

Ware was pursing quarterback Philip Rivers(notes) early in the fourth quarter Sunday when he collided into Brandyn Dombrowski(notes). Ware’s head went straight into Dombrowski’s upper leg, then Ware remained on the ground.

Ware was tended to on the field by medical personnel, who stabilized the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker before putting him on the stretcher and then a motorized cart. Teammates Marcus Spears(notes) and Terence Newman(notes) went over to Ware and spoke to the linebacker while he was being loaded onto a cart.

Owner Jerry Jones was shown on TV in his box with his face buried in his hands as Ware was being worked on

hope all goes well for Ware and speedy recovery

i guess you guys are right the saints have been playing down to the level of their last two opponents but when the lights are on they've been money

Although 20 points doesn't seem like much its the Defense the last 2 years that has let us down. Romo has played well the last two games. The Defense gives scores right back though, especially some 3rd and longs where they gave guys too much cushion. All they needed was 2 more wins. I also think that whenthey couldn't punch it in from the 1 was weak. Mix up the play calls. It was pathetic

Of course, as I said earlier, I expect this here when they lose. I could hear crickets when they were 8-3.Oh well. Hopefully, if anything comes out of this...Wade goes. The seem just seems unprepared at times

Doesn't change the fact that Romo had a better day than Rivers. I guess Schaub sucks then, huh?

Re-read my original post please. Point out where I mention Romo, Schaub, or anything else other than the Cowboys?

Not exactly sure why, but you're barking up the wrong tree here son.

Wade is as good as gone.

Wade is on his last year anyway..I suspect Jerry is already lining up interviews.

Hope so anyway. Nobody in Dallas is excited about another year of Wade. Except maybe the players he makes excuses for.

Don't know if you missed the sign on the door when you came in, but this is a Houston Texans message board. Doubt you're going to find too many Cowboy sympathizers anytime before their December Suck begins.

I don't care what forum I'm in. When they were winning, the Cowboy fans here didn't say a word in the NFL FORUM. Just how we work. Probably because we know that it is a long season and that this stuff happens. Realistic. I just made an observation. Giddy school children when they lose. I'm realistic about my team so I don't try and sugar coat it. They have issues and hopefully they will be resolved...i.e. Wade gone.

I think the call it Diecember!

I'm not a cowboys fan, but I watched the game out here today because I'm finding people to finally watch football with on Sunday and they happen to be fans.

My impressions were Romo had a pretty good game. No, he wasn't all pro but, he made throws when they asked him to and made palys when the protection broke down.

IMO it's on the playcalling and Jason Garrett. The goal line sequence was pathetically Kubiak predictable, along with the call with Barber running as the upback. You have Fleix Jones who could make the corner on just about any team and you have Jason Whitten. I guess at least they didn't havea Chris Brown fumble.

I don't think Wade's a terrible coach, but I think as with many cowboy's coaches he's been handcuffed. Jerruh hitched his wagon to Garrett and honestly I think he's vastly overrated considering the talented assembled on the offensive side of the ball.

Wade and Jason need to go, and I think Romo gets too much of the blame for the staff being inept.

I don't think Wade called the 4 consecutive running plays from the 2 yard line that resulted in zero points. That bit of ineptitude falls on the o-coordinator and that o-line.

"giddy school children"...wow. I wasn't giddy beforehand, but when a 'boys fan begins name calling, it certainly is easier to find a bit of sunshine when your team loses. I don't have an axe to grind against that team as much as I do the always arrogant fans and pretentious owner. Your post seems to validate my beliefs.

Get over yourself. Your not exactly a Texans fan that shows what most of the good ones are like. Your intetnions have been the same for years. I've been here years....when have I ever been pretentious about the Cowboys? If anything, I've been too realistic and talked crap about them more than anything. I've never been too high or too low on what they really have been over the last years. BUT there are fans, such as yourself, that seem to only show up when they lose to talk. Plain and simple. Many of the better Texan fans on here have even said the Cowboy obsession is embarrassing at times. All I did was make a valid point...there were no Cowboy posts when they won and were 8-3.(and in all honesty, there shouldn't have been with who they beat and the way their past Decembers have gone) Stop trying to fit me in somewhere I don't belong to justify your intentions.

You are right. I never supported Garrett and have blasted him on here. His playcalling yesterday was horrible and I've never been a fan of trying to show how tough you are by running right at a team 4 plays straight. But alot of what happens on that team starts with Wade. They have been the most penalized team or the top 2 the last 2 years. The defense has given up leads or given up easy drives late in games too many times to count....Ravens and Pitt last December and last week after taking a lead and this week after tying. If I had my druthers they would fire Wade now, let Garrett have a few games and when he continues the slide, let him go. "Red-Headed Jesus" as he is joked about in the Metroplex has been a bust at times.

Well at least you guys have an owner that will pull the trigger on an under achieving coach, and I'm not even sure that Wade is an under achieving coach, but he certainly doesn't look like the kind of guy that can get this particular Cowboys team into a SB. He is good enough to get them into the post season though. Jerry won't accept that though. He knows that he can find someone better. I may bag on Jerry a lot, but Jerry at least is passionate enough to pull the plug on a bad product before it becomes completely out of order.

And this is what I've said in the Kubiak threads...."what is your goal as a team?" In the Cowboys case, and Jerry is at fault for the hires and other things, its the playoffs and SB. Nothing else is ok. .500 and looking good at times doesn't work. When the talent is there and there is "something" missing, he expects more and will try and correct it. Now, he still has to let a guy coach, etc but I do agree that he has a higher standard and won't stand for what is going on. They might not have SB talent, but they have enough to do alot more than what has happened lately.

Wade hasn't been fired yet but I'm like you..can't see how Jerry could stay pat with that guy. Of course I said the same last year so what do I know?

Seriously some big name guys out there and I guess Zorn is still going to be fired although the Skins are playing much better...Jerry will probably try to make a splash with some big name. He and little Danny like to one-up the other.

My feeling is if he can convince Bill Parcells to come to the Cowboys (ok money talks) than he can get somebody else with scalps on the wall to come to the Death Star...

they picked a good game to stop their December woes

Glad I didn't have to bump this. YES!!!!!

A couple of things as a Boys fan

Great play for 3 1/2 quarters. Romo played smart and played really well. Despite some late scores, the D got pressure on Brees. Ware is a stud

Nick Folk...you won't kick in the NFL again

Roy Williams...you are now second string behind Ogletree. That 3rd down drop was inexcusable and almost cost the team the game at the time.
