Is Pollard Unhappy to Be a Texan?

What do you all make of this comment by Pollard?:

“Change is not always good,” he said. “And I speak from experience: Change is not always good."

He is obviously stating that players must do their job or they will be replaced. However, this quote could be stating that he wished there wasn't an initial change for him. He clearly states that not all change is good.

What do you all think? Am I taking this out of context?

Yes. I believe he is referring to the 2 weeks he spent unemployed. The article pretty much spells that out.

I don't think it necessary spells it out....One could argue that sure, being unemployed for two weeks sucked, but if it lead to a better job, then the change and the firing was for the best because he's in a better situation.

He says change is not always good.

I've been there and that's about right. Unless you're into farmland, you can drive from St.L to K.C. along I-70 and not see nuffin but farm fields. If you're a city dude like me, that constitutes "nothing".

Now if you're a farmboy, then you might be in heaven.

There is a story about Lawrence Taylor telling the other players that if the Giants fire Parcells , they're going to bring in a hardass and we're going to hate it . That was the Giants turning point .

He just went through a coaching change in KC, and it turned out horribly.

His situation in KC, and the current situation with Kubiak line up perfectly with his comments.

Nothing there ? What on earth does that that mean ? Can you not elaborate ? I'm honestly curious why you have such a negative opinion of the city/metro-area that many think is a really outstanding place to live and work ? Did the cops give you a ticket there, or a girlfriend up there jilt you ?
I was born and raised in a small Missouri city about 50 miles from KC which is the kinda place that qualifies as having "nothing there", but not KC which I visited many,many times over the years. Actually it has a lot of things in common with the city I've now called home since the 1980s. For example KCs barbeque and NFL football fans among other things are legendary. What's not to like about that ?

It sounds like he's saying that a change at coach isn't necessarily a good thing from a players perspective. A new coach means a new scheme, and the possibility that you don't fit. If you don't fit they're not going to pay you.

The real question is, "does anybody care if Pollard is unhappy?"

You're taking it out of context. Pollard is very happy to be in Houston. He's been through all that mess in KC, and he's got it good here in Houston right now.

Yep, and he's playing some of the best football that we have seen from the Safety position with the Texans.
