Vince Young beat us tonite. I can admit it

I hate VY. I hate the Titans.

I thought the Tit fans talking smack were ridiculous. It was obvious that Chris Johnson was the real threat.

But tonight Chris Johnson hit no home runs.
Tonight Chris Johnson has 150+ yards, but it was the 3rd and long scrambles that really killed this team. If it was half as demoralizing for the players as it was for me, then those were what did it.

He passed rarely, but he passed efficiently. He ran rarely, but he ran efficiently.

He is anything but a good quarterback, but his play tonight won the game. We couldn't figure out how to spy him. I can't understand why it was so difficult. If you can spy Vick, surely you can spy VY. But nope. And he beat us

Yeah VY got us with his stellar 70 yards rushing and subpar passing for 112 yards. Good game for the Titans. Maybe they might win the rest of thier games, (Chris Johnson quote).

The problem with spying VY, is that you got to worry about Chris Johnson.
If you slip up AT ALL, CJ will take it to the house. VY makes CJ better,
and CJ makes VY better. Still, if KB makes those easy kicks (for him)
we win the game.

Exactly right on all counts. It sucks, and it hurts - but VY was the difference tonight. Goodbye, Austin TV coverage of the Texans. It was fun while it lasted.

(SIGH) I would rather French kiss Michael Irvins dumb, countrified, crack smoking, semi-literate, English language slaughtering, Dallas Cowgirl @$$ while on all fours right before the national anthem at the Superbowl after declaring him the "greatest athlete to ever play his position on the greatest team in the history of sports."
Rest assured I'll give myself a blindfolded vasectomy at night, in the dark, during an earthquake with rusty antique, garden tools after drinking heavily for several hours ...before that EVER happens. My hatred has simply been intensified.

So what you want but VY is a good QB. He obviously doesn't need the stats to get the result. Our guy has all the stats but doesn't get the result.

Whatever, I have been slapped in the face so many times being a NFL fan I am really questioning even getting into this anymore. I would love to wake up tomorrow and not care about the NFL period.

I hate to admit it, but VY played a very, smart and efficient game and made plays when it counted. I hate the Tacks and am no VY fan, but he deserves props for playing a very solid game and leading his team to the win.

Mystery horse collar, ticky tack late hit out of bounds on Cushing, phantom defensive holding calls, etc. etc. etc.

Par for the course for Houston.

I wonder if KB has money on these games. The guy is killing me.

We failed to get contain on him, and he ran on us all day.

:mcnugget:

We challenged him to throw the football, and he threw it for 116 yards, at a record shattering 5.3 ypa.

If Schaub laid that kind of turd on the football field there would be 40 "FIRE SCHAUB!!!11!!!one!!!" threads, calling him the worst QB in the NFL.

VY is David Carr with better running ability, and that's being kind.

We lost this game because CJ went off on our ass, and we made a lot of errors to help them out.

VY might as well have been in the stands.

I don't think that Vince beat us singlehandedly, but that was not a David Carr performance last night. He wasn't perfect, but he was good when he had to be. Sure it helped that he didn't have hands in his face the way Matt did all night. Sure CJ>CB. But Vince played like a legit starting NFL QB last night. I won't go so far as to say he outplayed Schaub (considering the aforementioned abysmal line play as well as several odious play calls), but he was just as good. Vince matched him drive for drive. No Texan fan should be defending that mess last night.

I don't want to sound like Gruden, but Young looked more poised than I've seen him in a long time. If Vince can continue to harness his decision making he can be an exceptional NFL talent.

Guys, there has to be some crow served here. Vince played very well.

I think it's demoralizing when he scrambles for first downs time and time again .

Vince is a great athlete, but take away Chris Johnson and how good of a quarterback is he?
I think the Chris Johnson/Vince Young option is the most devastating play to be called in the NFL right now. Wow. Tough to stop. Whatever gets her done is all that matters. Fisher is utilizing his players' talent to their best abilities. That's how you use Vince Young correctly.

God. Brutal seeing them like that last night.

Just not when they play us.

I was pissed off when the announcers were talking like Vince was pulling a Peyton Manning on us from the start of the game to the final whistle...

BUT if our team doesn't come up with wins then we're gonna have to keep hearing it. Vince made plays when he had to and got lots of attention. Schaub did the same thing except with his arm. Both guys led their offense into FG range at the end of the game...only one guy's kicker made the FG.

If we dont make the plays at the end we're never gonna get respect. Nobody cares if we play a team tough, they just care about the end result. Do you think anybody that doesn't follow this team remembers that when VY scored the WINNING td it was in a tough overtime game? No, they just remember he scored the winning td and from there they think he just dominated us from start to finish. Until we come up with the win at the end, we're not gonna get respect.

The break has been good for VY. He has looked solid the past few weeks. He's not trying to carry the team on his back anymore, but rather playing within his abilities and letting the team carry it's share of the load. His decision making was smart, his line gave him time in the pocket, and he made some good reads/passes. His running ability on third down is just something that the Texans cannot figure out how to defend.

I'm not a fan of VY, but I can't hate on the guy. I wish he was on another team than the Titans, but it is what it is. We have been unable to stop him every time we've played him, and that's just not a fluke. He's got our number and rallies his team when it matters. I wish could say the same about our QB (not blaming Schaub or comparing the two, but leadership is one of the intangibles that can, and does, make a difference).

I don't think we are any more/less mediocre that Tennessee.

I don't know what it is that we are missing, but we are missing it in a bad way.

Tennessee has it, & it's got the team, the fans... & those idiots on BSPN thinking they could run the table, and make the play-offs.

Attitude.. Intensity.. sense of urgency...... something along those lines.

Or maybe just a will to win.

Vince Young is 52-13 since leaving Madison High School....so face it...stats are for baseball. Young just wins.
Westlake Chaps say HI VINCE. If he's such a godlike winner, how did Madison lose the state championship? And why didn't Texas win the MNC in 2004?

I know you're being facetious, but those who say "Vince just wins" are not engaging in worthwhile football analysis. Wins are a team stat, just as they are in baseball.

The Titans winning right now with VY at quarterback is the worst thing that could happen to the chance of having a reasonable discussion about why it's happening. Put VY in the equation and the sniffers get real stupid real quick.

No no. Please give anyone on the coaching staff BUT Fisher credit for this. If Fisher had his way, Collins would still be starting and we would probably be 1-9 at best.
Fisher has all but ran this team into the ground. It's because of his ass-crack decisions in the off-season, TC and beginning of the season that we started off 0-6. It was also his decision to start the healed Harper at CB over Hood, who has had 3 INTs in as many games. I hate seeing coaches who place loyalty over skill.
Bud had to force Fisher to start Vince if that tells you anything. You guys can have Fisher if you want.

Who gives a bleep?!?! He's WINNING and he keeps winning in grand fashion! It does not matter at the end of the day. It's all about wins. For the duration of the entire second half, I was having flashbacks of Vince Young slashing our defense for the win a couple years ago. a 38 yard run on 4th down as time expired was it?

I'm not a fan of Jeff Fisher myself. I think he's always been mediocre and I'm not a fan of his style. I like playing clean football games.

The fact of the matter is that Bud Adams is not the one who's coaching Vince Young. Jeff Fisher is designing the plays. You'd never see a Collins/Johnson option on a regular basis now would ya?

If you think Bud Adams has any clue whatsoever you are mistaken. If you're picking between him and Fisher, you should probably trust your coach more than your petulant owner. I have a sneaky suspicion Fisher knows what he's doing.

They scored a whopping 20 points last night and needed Chris Johnson to tote the ball 30 times to do it, but Vince Young is the reason they won. Riiight.

This is the stupid I'm referring to. Vince Young had no role in Kris Brown's performance, nor did he do anything to make Dunta Robinson drop a game-changing interception. If Dunta makes that easy catch, does the "Vince Young just wins" nonsense hold up?

Schaub can have 500 consecutive 300 yd games every season, he still will not have what VY has, leadership, dedication and a willing to win. When will ya'll see that?! Stats are not all they crack up to be, you have to win thats it.:ahhaha:

I'm stupid? Ah man. I thought I had more respect than that from most of y'all. Okay then.

Vince Young must be the luckiest man on earth then because all he's ever done is be on winning teams. He's pulling out wins from his ass. That being said... what Vince Young is to me is a gamechanger. He's not a great QB but he's certainly a gamechanger.

I didn't say you were stupid, Nitro. I'm talking about the stupid narratives that follow VY around because his fanboys can't handle it when anyone dares to diminish his role in the Titans victories.

Yeah, VY is quite lucky. He was great with his feet last night and made some okay plays with his arm, but he only completed 12 of 22 passes and should have had one interception on his boxscore. Everyone watching that game saw Dunta drop an easy INT. That was a terrible throw, and probably a game-changing one, so yeah...he was blessed on that one. He screwed up and Dunta screwed up just as badly.

Well... I must be getting stupider by the minute because I'm thinking about hitching a ride on the Young bandwagon for a little while. He's the exciting thing in the NFL right now. That Young/Johnson option has to be the most devastating play in the NFL right now. A beauty to watch. That's football at its finest and Vince Young is a football player.
