Same ole Texans

Man no team spirit? I like our defense, just need to cut the errors and mistakes. That fumble near the goaline was painful. Go Texans for second half!

I put this in the game thread, but did it seems to anyone else that the refs were giving the Colts EXTREMELY generous spots, especially for 1st downs? Seems like they would go down a yard or so short and they would give them the spot.

It's not the "same ole Texans".........the "same ole Texans" would've gotten their asses handed to them if they played that awful and committed that many mistakes.

It sucks losing, but today Houston proved they can complete against Indy even on a off day, even on the road.........the "same ole Texans" would have to play absolutely perfect just to have a chance to beat the Colts.

I agree. This loss hurts but it's not the end of the Texans season. We're 5-4 with a MNF game against an awful team in the Titans in 2 weeks and still very much in the wild card hunt.

THe titans will come in here with a force of 1,000 Pitbulls trust me we better be rdy for another WAR !!!

Same ol Texans.. Get there fans crunk and excited and KILL it at the end.. Im so pissed right now im glad im not at a bar right now...

COME ON, what's sad is they made alot of mistakes yet they were barely beaten. No where near the "same old Texans". That's B.S.

Say what you want but this is not any "ole Texans" I have ever seen. Sure, it was another last minute loss to the Colts but the team looks better than I have seen them.

This Colts teams is taking everyone to the wood shed this season. The Texans played a pretty poor game as far as penalties go and still took it to the wire.

I think they beat the Colts in Houton.

Im guessin you have not been following the Texans this year and how at the end they sure know how to lose games. Slaton, Brown, and Kris Brown...

I'm not having it.

We lost this game with the same problems we've been having on offense going back to last season.

We straight up lost the first half, regardless how badly the defense tried to keep us in it. We couldn't move the ball, & when we did.... blocked field goal & fumble on the goal line.

Two interceptions in the first half, one being to Andre Johnson under triple coverage after Schaub stared him down.

They come out & look fine the second half... defense gives us two extra possessions on two take aways.... defense only gives up 7 points... offense did a great job of putting us in position to tie the game. ST... @#R#$# Special teams.

But the slow start by the offense, I think was the biggest problem we've yet to fix.

what were you expecting at an undefeated Indy team? Domination? I wasn't even expecting a win. I was expecting a close game which it was. The fact that it was that close with all those errors the Texans commited means something. Go stab your Kris Brown doll and maybe you'll feel better.

Im a Texans fan and YES I was expecting a win! To make the playoffs we were suppose to win today and it didnt happen. Everybody in the locker room knew this. Stab Kris Brown doll??? WOW buddy your imagination is sickening!!!

Loser.

These are the games we need to win. These are the games we should expect to win.

Not the games against the 7-0 conference leading Colts, but the 3 point games with two minutes left & our offense on the field.

Don't go bragging about the #3 offense in the league, if we can't score on this possesion.

When we have an opportunity like that we HAVE to capitalize. Too many people on this board are assuming we are going to beat the Colts when they come to town. Chances are we are going to lose that game too. Once we got this one close we had to shut the door and we failed.

Just because we lost doesn't mean were out of the playoffs. This is just typical Texans fan reaction to a loss. I say you go jump on the Saint's bandwagon.

Man we blew a hell of an opportunity today to win a game that was there for the taking I was hurt that we lost this game today because we out played the colts in there backyard. Now I know a lot of our brethren are going to be upset with this comment but I put this loss on Matt Shaub today as why in the hell you don't take a sack instead of throwing a pick with that heavy pressure and forcing a pass? I am sick of losing games like that and the coaches getting blamed and all that stuff, the players have to make the plays to win these close games.

This is coming from a say so fan that didnt believe we could beat the Colts. The percentage of us making the playoffs now is slim if 5-4 makes you happy then so it be it, if losing close games makes you smile then more power to you. Born and raised in Houston Tx and will continue to be a season ticket holder and attend every game possible win or lose like I have been doing for the last 8 yrs...

I can't afford season tickets, but I could hit my head with a hammer 16 times a year for 7 years if I wanted pain.

That has absolutely nothing to do with being the "same ole texans".

Do the "same ole texans" have a chance to win this game late if they play that bad? Answer that honestly.

This is the same old Texans that blew the Rosencopter game.

What am I missing?

That was epic failure when they had a win in the bank, but blew it.... we battled back in this game from adversity......LOL this was not "Rosencopter game".

2006, the colts at home....... 2 early turnovers, and we come back with 3 second half touchdowns to "almost win" that game.

This is the same thing that happened against Arizona & Jacksonville this year.

This is the same old Texans.

LOL, 2006 texans was alot of holdovers from the 2005 Texans (mainly David Carr). Also I doubt we had that many penalties in that game.

Fact is......if this was the "same ole Texans" we never would've had a chance to win this game on the road. I'm not trying to excuse their poor play today, because theirs no excuse for that. I'm simply saying that this isn't the "same ole texans". It's a different Texans team, that lost to the same old Colts. Any other Texans squad and the Colts would've had this game locked up by halftime without Houston having a shot in hell at winning it.

I mean we get it.......this is not a playoff team, but that doesn't mean they're still the "same ole texans". They are only a few peices away and now first the first time ever we're actually building a young defense that can actually grow into a strength for this team (that's not the "same ole texans" either)

As soon as some of y'all get off the pity potty y'all will recognize this.

We are getting better on defense as each game passes......a good defense is >>> than a good offense, because a good defense can actually keep you in many games that you shouldn't have a shot in hell at winning. THAT is NOT the "same ole texans".

Problem is the Texans have been a few pieces way for three years now. At some point they have to get out of head case mode or find a new coach.

I've been defending this defense since the pre-season, so don't lump me with the regular nay-sayers.

I've also been pointing out our 30 minute offense since week 1, but I've been called names for not worshiping the high scoring Texans offense.

We fall behind early....... we play great in garbage time (I understand this wasn't exactly garbage time..... but it was just as meaningless) & we get close enough to lose.

This is another one of those last minute heart breakers... it's the same old stuff if you ask me.

NO shame in losing to the best team in the AFC

We beat Cincinatti in their house, we've proven we can beat great teams in their house, this game proved only that we can't penalize ourselves and shoot ourselves in the foot vs. Peyton

We aren't even missing a piece. We've got what it takes to win, except the know how.

Losing this game was a mental thing, not a lack of talent, or a lack of will or intensity....

We played stupid... bottom line.

We are good enough to win, we just don't know how. Been that way for about 4 years now.

And on that we agree. It just has to stop or we will be talking about a .500 record for the 3rd straight year.

The final outcome is the same.......but how we got there is different.

Let me put it this way.

I FEEL MUCH BETTER about Houston's future than I did this time last year. I'm a defensive guy....could care less about offense (as long as it's not 2005 bad or Buffalo Bills bad) and we now have one of the youngest most promising defenses in the league. The problem is with all the youth you get inconsistency, but they are getting better as each game passes.

Let the defense grow and invest HEAVILY into a strong offensive line that can actually bully teams and build a freaking power running game (drop this finesse pansy ass bullshit and start playing smash mouth football) and walla.....we'll have a bonified playoff team. This team was never a playoff team with pansy ass Myers leading the charge upfront.

I know no one rates threads anymore but I had to for this one.

I tried staying away to avoid these type of posts and I held off for a long time but finally gave in.

Bingo! I completely agree, defense and power running are the keys to winning, and right now we have half of the formula. We need to work on that running aspect. In the first half of the game, our passing game simply wasn't working. That is something that is going to happen from time to time. Power running will at least provide us with a couple first downs during those cold streaks, and more importantly it will keep our Defense off the field for longer stretches of time.
