Colts starting CB Jackson out for the season

Feel bad for him, and it's an unfortunate loss for them, but it definitely doesnt hurt our chances on Sunday.

Are the Colts on the verge of being snake bitten?
They just lost an LB (Hagler ?) for the season, right? And wasn't there one earlier as well?

Sucks for them, but they've done pretty well without him so far. I'm interested to see how they protect their rookie CBs. If Hayden is out then that means they'll start a 3rd rounder and a UDFA. Given their injuries in the secondary and the fact that we'll only be suiting up 2 TEs this week I think we'll have a lot of opportunities to slow down their pass rush by spreading out the defense with 4 WR sets. They usually only rush 4 and they're gonna have to dedicate a safety to help whoever is covering AJ. Which means our speed guys JJ and the other Andre have chances to get 1 on 1 coverage against a thin DB lineup!!! Not to mention the possibility of getting Slaton the ball in the flat against a thin secondary. :)

We have big play potential this week. I wouldn't mind seeing Hill in early to help establish the run game and supply a chip block for whichever OT needs it. But we need to mix it up with multi WR sets to take advantage of the weak secondary once we made them respect our run game. Just imagine if OD was healthy :(

They protect their rookie CB's the same as they way as they protect Hayden & Jackson - with QB pressure from Freeney & Mathis.

Wow, too bad for them. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Hopefully he and Owen have a speedy recovery.

So does that make it Haglar, Gonzo, and Jackson out now? With a new Sanders injury popping up?

Interesting, the less weapons for Manning the better. I also read on today's injury report that Bob Sanders has not practiced for the 2nd day in a row. Dont know if the Colts think he's a gametime decision or if they're just being careful. A Sanders-less D with starting rookie CBs would go a long way in helping us get a win in their house!!!

Actually, it's better for the Colts that Jackson does not play.
He was treated like a step child by AJ last year! :)

No doubt, if Schaub has time... this could be a very interesting game. Not big on players getting injured for any team. But the past couple of days for them hasnt exactly made me shed a tear...especially after last Sunday.

If the Texans cant beat the Colts when they are down 2 Cb's (Hayden,Jackson) and their best S (Sanders) they never will. IMO

Peyton Manning

Yes sir, Aslong as Manning is playing it will be rough. Like at the Garcon guy,(I think that's how it's spelled) if he was on one of the other 31 teams no one would know who he is.

BTW, 610 said on the way home that Reggie Wayne sat out of practice, but it probably doesn't mean anything.

The Colts just sent out a release packed with injury news. Here it is:

The Indianapolis Colts have signed veteran free agent defensive end Josh Thomas and have placed defensive back Marlin Jackson on injured reserve. Wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery yesterday to clean out loose particles, and safety Bob Sanders visited with Dr. James Andrews yesterday to gather additional information on the left elbow injury he suffered last Sunday against San Francisco, the club announced today.

Jackson suffered the left knee injury during a non-contact drill early in Wednesday’s practice. He is out for the remainder of the season. Gonzalez suffered a recent setback in practice that led to yesterday’s procedure. A timetable for his return is not determined.

Thomas played 2004-08 with the club, starting 12 of 68 appearances. He totaled 172 tackles and six sacks. He had a brief stint with the club this past training camp.

Sad when an Indy fan ends up countering a Texans fan downplaying their loan victory against the Colts.

HAve you noticed we have two types of fans. Those that downplay good things, and those that take too much out of good things. Not much in the middle.

The Colts have ben without the starting secondary for the better part of the season. The defense has been fielding Powers and Jennings at the corner back spots pretty much every game so I really don't see much changing in regards of the results coming from them. Bob "The Glass Man" Sanders has been a no show for all but 1 game, even in that game he played limited plays. So I don't really see him missing the game as a big problem. However, Hagler missing at linebacker could be a problem in the run stopping department. Hagler may very well be the Colts best run suppost linebacker and this could open things up for the Texans running game. If the running holes open up then the passing game follows.
