How We Can Tell The Texans Have Turned The Corner

Gus Johnson and Steve Tasker ain't callin' ALL our games!!
It's so refreshing to not have to hear one guy bust one in
the booth all game long, and the other guy say "Gus" 200 times.

Yes, my friends, the Texans have arrived.
 
I wonder if Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will be calling the game Sunday? Baltimore vs Cinci is the only other CBS game that I can see them calling.
 
I am just enjyoing all media attention we are getting lately.

From here and on, the Texans will have respect nationwide for years to come.

I'd actually take Gus Johnson and Steve Tasker over the other analyst.... They're my favortie crew (I really like the excitement Gus has for the game and Steve Tasker aint bad either)....but to each his own.
 
Because we have been TCOB in

Taking care of bizz nass

we beat the teams we are supposed to beat and beat them by at least 2 scores
 
I like Gus Johnson. His enthusiasm is great. He gets more excited about big plays than half the Texans fans I am watching the game with.
 
I still don't know. They show signs like:

Most 3 and outs in the league.
Schaub leading in passing.
AJ leading in receiving.
Most importantly a winning record.

I would say we have turned the corner from being a doormat to a team that any team in the league needs to take very, very seriously.

Next step, turn the corner to a team that most teams in the league expect to lose to.

Next step, a team folks are disappointed in for not making the play-offs.

So many steps.

Yep. The way I see it we haven't turned any corner yet, but we have at least started braking. Next we flip on the turn signal and start turning the steering wheel.
 
We've turned the corner when we consistently beat the Colts or give them games to remember. JMHO. Until we beat the Colts, we're just another good team in the NFL. Just like in the old days with the Oilers. It was us and the Steelers.

I've heard Gus and Steve long enough for them to grow on me, but they
are CBS's bottom-barrel announce team. For the last couple weeks, we've
gotten their middle-of-the-road group. Next week, it's Kevin Harlan and
Solomon Wilcots.

I love Gus Johnson...the most exciting 4 yard runs in the game. His joy is great....especially when he does March Madness games

I like him too. I think his emotional calls bring spirit to the game. I can do without the monotones like Buck and the dude who called the Pack/Vike game yesterday. Show me some enthusiasm, like you're actually watching the game rather than just calling it and I'll listen.

I don't know. Its hard to say that Indy hadn't turned the corner, even though for years they couldn't beat the Pats.

Texans have shown a lot to suggest they have turned the corner but we have to see it over a larger period of time and against more top competition.

Next week they get an opportunity to measure themselves up against the Colts. This will be the test.

The Texans need to 'smack' the MVP in his mouth and bring him down. Mario needs to bring it this week because its gonna take a total effort to get this done. The Colts are going to be very confident and with a lot to play for.

If the Texans can beat the Colts this week, its fair to say that we have turned the corner.
 
I don't if they've turned the proverbial "corner" or not. Howerver I will say that while I was pissed during the first half, for once I felt confident that they would come back and take over. (maybe the feeling was due in part that it was Buffalo idonno: )

Yes

The Bills offense was a joke and I figured we'd get the offense going eventually. The Bills play calling was a joke as well. I understand their offense was going no where, but calling a fake punt on your own 37? And continuing to run the ball when you're starting to get pounded reeks of 0 confidence in your offense. At least let your players try to get something going rather than throwing the towel.

There was an article on NFL.com, where DeMeco even said their offense was a joke (paraphrasing obviously). He said they kept using the same formations, things like that. It never got confusing for them.

To add to my previous post. The Bills defenses wasn't much better, especially after losing Schobel for the game. When I can't find a lot that Studdard or Myers did wrong, you know something was amok.

I was watching parts..going back and forth between the "other" games....but their offense was one of the worst offenses I have seen in years. It was almost painful to watch. Once the Texans got a TD it was over really.

They were definitely not what we needed to face before going up to Indy. Going from one extreme to the other might catch us way off guard and get ugly quick.
 
So I guess after every game where the Texans win there will be a "turn the corner" thread. These are getting really old now. The Texans can compete with a ton of teams in the league now. They just need to have their defense improving like they have been lately. They turned a corner a while back. I'd really like it when this expression finally disappears.

The Indy interior D is somewhat comparable.
It's D. Brown, Winston, and the TE or whoever blocking on the edge I'm concerned of.

I'm glad that the Texans worked to have a penetrating defense up the middle.
Manning doesn't like that.
It remains to be seen whether we can accomplish that task though!
