Texans getting some love

It's a bit too early for us to be considered for the playoff yet, IMHO. I don't think we have done what we needed to do up to this point in the season. If we can put together a little run, I may start to get my hopes up.

I'm waiting for the Broncos to begin to falter.

It wouldn't surprise me. Didn't the Lions start off 7-1 a few years ago, and close out the second half 1-7?

Its not a prediction so much as how the playoffs would look if tiebreakers didn't exist. The guy is just going based on straight records but ignoring tie breakers (Thats why Pitt is the division champ and Houston is the wildcard)

The only "picks" are houston over NYJ and Pitt over Cinci

I think he's well aware of the tiebreakers and is just doing it based off how he thinks it will be at the moment by the way teams have been playing at that week and he mentions factoring in the remaining schedule to come up with his opinion...

That's why I think he has us over the Jets cuz we won 2 in a row and have the Bills next.
There is no reason to have the Packers in there by record other than he thinks they will make it and likes their schedule at the moment.

I dont get it. Green Bay has a 4-2 record, which is the same record as all the teams currently in the hunt for the NFC Wild Card.

Dallas, Philly, GB, Atlanta, all have 4-2 records

iam still wating for the colts to meltdown

this divison can be ours !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you mean the "doggone playoff" ?

Then you also must be waiting for that cold day in hell to come as well. It's ok to dream and hope though. LOL, I'm BSing with you man.

We'll have to beat a great team regardless if we're gonna be winning playoff games...

..but am I the only one who'd rather be in the Broncos/Bengals/Patriots pool rather than the Steelers/Colts pool??

• I'm feeling pretty good about moving the Texans into the picture last week. I don't know if I'm getting suckered in just because they're so much fun to watch, or because the Battle Red uniforms make me think they have the strength and determination of firemen, but I'm feeling really good about their Wild Card chances.

We are a lot of fun to watch. Unless you really want us to win and then sometimes it's more stressful than fun.

LOL, that's when Kitna predicted a 10 win season. They started 6-2, but then lost their next 6 games. I forgot about that, funny stuff. He had the same prediction the very next season. The fool didn't learn his lesson.

No, you're not I am but I just do not think Indy will have a huge melt down this season.

Call me a softy if you want but I sat and stared at that bracket for a good 3 minutes just basking in the visual stimuli placed before me.

Never seen something so beautiful and it's only a dream right now.

this guy has hated on us & regularly called us the most boring team in the league the last few years (and often ignores us in his huge columns). the last few weeks he's been watching us a bit more though:

Sweet Play of the Week No. 1: Houston has yet to appear in a high-profile game, so you may be missing the fun of Gary Kubiak-drawn plays. At the San Francisco goal line, Kubiak sent in three tight ends, then had the right tackle pull on a toss run by Steve Slaton -- touchdown. From another three-tight-end set, Matt Schaub faked a toss left to Slaton, then waggled right; there were two offensive linemen pulling left, to sell the fake; a tight end was crossing in front of Schaub, which drew the attention of the safety, since bootlegs are usually to a tight end crossing in front of the quarterback; then Schaub threw long to tight end Owen Daniels, who had run a deep seam pattern -- 42-yard touchdown. What a sweet-looking play.

As for the Niners' semi-comeback from 21-0 to 24-21, did the Moo Cows relax when lightly regarded quarterback Alex Smith entered the game? Probably. Smith proceeded to throw three second-half touchdown passes. With 38 seconds remaining, he also threw the interception that sealed the Houston win. Eugene Wilson made the pick, and rather than attempting a stat-padding return and risking a fumble, he simply fell to the ground. That too was sweet.

Uggh, those are going to be expensive tickets in Pittsburgh!

My best friend of 30 years is a Steelers fan. We grew up together in the 70's, he was a Steelers fan and I was a Cowboys fan. Many fights. I have gone to a couple of Steelers games with him in Pitt, including last year's playoff game against the Chargers. We decided long ago that we can't go to a game together when our teams are playing. I ain't flinching, if it bears out as above. :)

Jim Mora will be the Patron Saint for Texans fans, weeks 8 through 13. Playoffs?
