Kubiak "We paid a price"

Working?
Wow, did anyone see this latest presser from kubes? He lists all the injuries they suffered from playing in that sloppy mess at Arrowhead. Take a look:

Battered and bruised: Injuries are a natural byproduct of NFL games, and the preseason is no exception. It doesn't help matters when the weather makes for a wet and slippery field like it did on Saturday night.

"We paid a price (for the victory)," Kubiak said. "We have some guys really banged up, and that usually happens when you get out there in a mess like that. Hopefully, we will get back and get some of these guys on the field as quick as possible."

Kubiak revealed a litany of injuries after the game: Grossman (hamstring), tight end Joel Dreessen (hyper-extended knee), rookie safety Troy Nolan (broken hand), fullback Boomer Grigsby (ankle), right tackle Eric Winston (ankle), linebacker Xavier Adibi (finger), defensive end Tim Bulman (groin) and defensive tackle Frank Okam (cut shin). The injuries to Nolan, Dreessen, Grigsby and Grossman appeared to be the most serious.

"it's a very long list for a first time out," Kubiak said. "We're going to have to get back and evaluate where we're at."

With the exception of Grossman, Grigsby and Nolan, they're all minor and will be back on the field when the Saints come marching in.

This may be cause for concern.

Wide receiver Andre Davis left practice early with the assistance of a team trainer

Uhm...those were the guys who suffered the most serious injuries. A 7th round draft pick (Nolan), a guy who was very unlikely to make the team (Grigsby), and the 3rd QB (Grossman). Short of putting in the ball boys, who do you think should have been in there instead?.

Winston said his injury was nothing and was surprised it was even reported. From what I've heard, it's a similar thing with Dreessen, Adibi, and Okam.

So there's no need to panic.

Not a single guy you mentioned has anything close to a significant injury. In fact, with the possible exception of Adibi (and I'm not sure about him), all of those guys are supposed to be playing on Saturday against the Saints (and given it's a pre-season game, I'm sure they'd err on the side of safety if there was any question at all). Winston twittered that he was surprised Kubiak even mentioned his injury, and Okam has a cut shin. Not exactly the type of thing that torpedoes the season.
