What does this have to do with Favre?
Could mean that anything's possible. Remember when David Carr couldn't produce for the Panthers they were able to convince Vinny Testaverde to leave the comfort of his couch, no practice or anything and return. Or, it could open up a spot for Vick.

I thought this would have to do with Favre retiring this year for good-good then opening the door yet again the next day. I don't think the Vikings would buy into Favre again seeing how the Viking players themselves said enough is enough. I think the coach and FO are a little tired of the whole thing as well.

Totally agree on both points
Maybe a little bit of an overreaction here:
I doubt they bring in Vick just because Jackson is out for a week. Nor can the Vikings afford any more of a circus atmosphere at training camp, after the Favre courting. Best to let sleeping dogs lie.

Not so sure on Sage excelling, unless he's got the starter role wrapped up. Just wonder how much was Sage was pushing and made mistakes or that's just his QB "style". Doesn't have the arm to be a gunslinger.
I'm not sold on Vick playing this year anywhere in the NFL. It's too soon IMO and maybe next year after he lands a UFL or AFL gig teams will be a little more assured of his skills and the media circus will have died down a little.

Reguarding Vick, aside from the media circus that would follow. Which might not be a bad place for Vick. It's a bit of a media outpost. Problem is I see him as a more athletic Tarvaris Jackson. They can get to around .500 on therunning game but, they need a semblance of a passing game to be a threat to go deep into the playoffs.
