After consecutive 8-8 seasons, the Texans are close to becoming winners and their owner Bob McNair says he can feel it.
That is one reason McNair is very excited about today, decision day in the NFL.
McNair has always expected draft day to go well, but he is far more confident now than he was when he saw his first war-room action in 2002.
Of course, the Texans owner enters his eighth draft knowing a lot more about the NFL than he did then.
Theres a learning curve in anything that you do, especially when you go into something new, McNair said. If you want to learn and want to become better at what you do, youre going to work hard at it, and with that added knowledge youre going to improve.
I hope thats the case. Im certainly much more knowledgeable than I was.
As owner of a high-revenue franchise, McNair is already one of the big boys in the league. Hed like to see his football team become one of the big boys on the field.
It is getting close. McNair expects the Texans to move closer today by making the right choice with the 15th pick of the first round.
