AWESOME Texans Info

LZ is the best in town at this sort of thing IMO.
BTW - his weekly Draft Show is on 1560 tomrrow at 5:00 - 6:30 PM.

That writeup was awesome! It's just what I've been looking for. An intelligent report from a guy who has inside knowledge about the Texans and isn't just regurgitating every other media "anaylist" views!!!

Here's to hoping Max Unger falls to us in the 2nd and McGee is there in the 5th!

I was just about to start a thread and ask him if he forgot about posting a Texans big board.

Anyway awsome job LZ THANK YOU for youre effort. I guarantee you it is appreciated around here. U DA MAN!

Only looking at offense, the only guy I'd want in the first would be Maclin. Unless we traded back and got one of the three centers (I actually like Wood)

Thanks. I thought the idea of a Texans big board was a great idea but it is much tougher to put together than I thought. It is REALLY tough to put together a list on defense just because I'm not as locked in on what the Texans are going to do with their secondary and at NT. I have an idea, but it isn't as clear cut as on offense.

Which has been a part of their problems in the past. It didn't look like they knew what they were looking for in a defense either.

Phenomenal blog post. Like water to a person lost in the desert.

I would love Bohmar in the 4th.

Not to sound like I'm chastising you, but why? I like Bomar, but the Texans already have Orlovsky backing up Schaub, and Brink on Practice Squad. Also Kubiak is pretty famous for only using 2 quarterbacks on the active roster, unless injuries occur.

There are plenty of other positions of need the Texans should be addressing other than quarterback in the 4th round IMO.

I was thinking with the extra 4th we could afford to do it.

Plus, with what happened to Bomar in Ok and having to finish out his play at Sam Houston I feel there is a lot of untapped talent.

I am not a fan of DannyO, and Brink looked God awful last year against scrubs so I am not sold on him either.

Really appreciate the effort LZ. Fantastic info, I'm looking forward to seeing your D post today.

I could see them drafting Stephen McGee to run a version of the wildcat, plus doesnt Kubiak have a man crush on that former Aggie?

I think Bomar has a lot more upside than Brink, though not so sure he'd make it through waivers to land on the PS.

I wouldn't call 2 active QBs as famous more as willing to take the risk of multiple injuries.I think last year he realized the risk and that's why we signed Quinn Gray. Don't think it worked out for Gray who probably wanted a shot at backup and possible PT. I think a young late round Qb would be more likely to be ok with taking third string and learning. Just my thoughts anyway.

Fantastic report, LZ. Thanks for taking the time to write! You and TC are providing us with great reads in the absence of any decent sports reporting by our "professional writers" these days.

Great work LZ as always. Although I think Wells is overrated, but that is just my opinion. I think he has to much of a boom or bust look to him. To me that is to much of a risk to take in the first two rounds.

LZ i am not happy with your inclusion of Wells but exclusion of Donald Brown. Wells has Cedric Benson written all over him, IMO.

Brown fits our system perfectly, and should be a late 1st rounder, perfect for a trade down.

Those U Conn guys impress the hell out of me. They are athletic and sharp. Would be happy with Brown or Butler.

Dead on regarding the defense. Offense is clearly defined and I at least have a chance to make an educated guess on what their draft board would look like. On defense, it is tougher because they've never been defined as a unit.

Nice work, LZ!

Though I don't think we'll end up with any of those first rounders.

I like Wells, but I highly doubt that the Texans will draft a RB in the first, or the second round for that matter.
Slaton was "somewhat displeased" with how the carries were divided his last year in college after trying hard to be a team player.
I think Kubiak is one of those HCs who believe football players are human, too!
Find a RB on the second day who will complement Slaton is not that hard, IMO.
