Thoughts?

He could be right. I don't know. But as a rule, I generally disregard everything that McShay says.

Most of the top 10 makes sense except the pick of Raji IMO. Seattle could go LT with Jones getting up there in age but likely if he's there Crabtree would be the pick. They need help on the offensive side of the ball big time and adding Crabtree gives them something they haven't for Hasselbeck... a real threat outside.

I will go out on a limb here and say there is no way Seattle drafts Crabtree.

I used to live in Seattle, and I've talked to a lot of my friends there about them possibly drafting Crabtree. The way they put it, if Crabtree is available and they pass on him, all hell will break loose like when we drafted Mario Williams and not Vince Young or Reggie Bush.

And how did that one work out?

Brain fart... does Cleveland run a 3-4? If so Brown would be an OLB not a DE.
I see Jeremy Maclin as being the best fit in Oakland (over Crabtree). Russell can throw it 1/4 mile while sitting indian style eating a sandwhich.

So who's left? Orakpo, Oher, Sanchez, the RBs, Jerry, Davis, Maualuga...

I'd see Orakpo and Maualuga going before our pick. That leaves three players.

I wouldn't go out on that limb but I'm more than willing to say Seattle might not grab Crabtree. Just it makes the most sense though. After looking at their final statistical standings across the board they could use help everywhere. Just feel a Hasselbeck to Crabtree combo would give them an immediate boost.

Heh all my football friends laughed at me when i said Branch was not worth anywhere near the first rounder they gave for him.

If I was Detroit I would take Curry.

I would do that or take whichever OT I liked the best.

Would not use the #1 on Stafford.

I think Nate Davis and Rhett Bomar have way less bust potential and they can be had late 2nd/early 3rd.

omission of Michael Oher is premature as a top 10 pick :kingkong:

I liked Stafford as a sophomore, no doubt throws a nice ball. He did not show me much development in refined QB skills as a Junior reading defenses, going through progressions, pocket awareness even accuracy. he still has a quick release with good strength but is nowhere near refined as say Matt Ryan was coming out of Boston College in the shadows of Tom Brady. bottom line he could develop into a good pro, possess skills pro teams covet but its a risk & timetable predicated on how effective a team offensive line/running game is built around him. closer to Carr then Ryan but hey do what you want Todd & all mass media outlets :user:

Maclin is the type of pick teams select after 15. quick, slot WR with special teams skills. not a #1 more of a weapon used to complement a bigger dominant #1 like a Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson.

Curry top 5? how many LB's with his size go in the top 10 nevermind top 5? 6016 242 is he that much bigger, better than DeMeco or Willis? if I had the choice between Aaron Curry or LaRon Landry I would take Landry & he went pretty close #6, as a great saftey prospect, to where Curry probably falls because losing teams know they need to address defense.

Evertte Brown has been a high flyer, it was not that long ago during the mid-way of 08 College Football season he still was projected with a 2nd rd. grade. is this draft class that weak? I'll give him a top 15 grade & see him slipping into top 10 because once again whos available & teams needs, but I'm not 100% sure about his pro career. I suppose like anyone else dependent on the team who drafts him, I just don't see that he has elite size for DE position in the NFL with only recent upgrades to his game without a long history or production.

2. St. Louis: Jason Smith-OT, hit this one on the head

4. Seattle: B.J. Raji-DT, a little high maybe but as prospects go he is top shelf

6. Cincinnati-Andre Smith-OT, no problem with this pick

7. Oakland- Michael Crabtree- WR, could see Al Davis take another high flyer

8. Jacksonville-Eugene Monroe-OT, Del Rio wishes he still on the board

9. Green Bay- Malcolm Jenkins-CB, in converstation with Curry as best defensive player

Thought Nate Davis opted to stay for his senoir season?

Too bad he can't throw it to the right team. Arm strength has nothing to do with how good a quarterback you can be. A QB is made by decision making and accuracy.

Jamarcus Russell has an absolute cannon, but he has struggled as a QB since entering the league. Stafford is in the same boat. He has a great arm, but his decision making is questionable at best and so is his accuracy.

I fail to see how Kiper & McShay still have Stafford as the #1 prospect. Anybody that watched college football this year would tell you he is not even close to being the best player in the draft this year.

Yeah but there are a ton of receivers. Only a hand full of OLTs. Oher would be a good pick for them. Start him inside at left guard...move him outside when Jones hangs it up. They could take the Uconn OLT Beatty at the top of the second. Only thing Oher needs is some reps. Oher gives them something they haven't had since they let Steve Huthinson walk...a consistent rushing attack.
