64 to go

Steve Slaton only needs 64 yards to be the Texans single season rushing leader. Think that is pretty cool.

On a discouraging note, as bad as Ahmad Green has been for us, he is still number 7 all time in rushing for the Texans. (don't know what to day about that.

What you should say, is that stat is useless considering the team is 7 years old.

Mario is the all-time sack leader with Kailee in 2nd and Babin in 3rd, Dunta the all-time INT leader with Bennett 4th, DeMeco 3 tackles shy of surpassing Sharper as the all-time leading tackler, Schaub the all-time leader in passing % and QB rating, AJ by far the all-time leader in Receptions with Walter 5th, AJ leading in TD's with Walter 3rd trailing Corey Bradford, and Slaton is already the 5th all time in rushing yds and 4th in TD's.

These are all absolutely meaningless this early in this teams history, IMO.

Check back in 5 - 10 years.

I know that we are only 7 years old, but despite that I thought it was sad that a guy who has been on IR more games than on the field in his two years is that high. IMO

As long as the Texans have been in existence, since their very first draft, I have been hoping they would take a franchise-type running back. Every year I've been disappointed.

Last year I was hoping Adrian Peterson would somehow fall to them. This year, I knew Darren McFadden would be going too high but I was thinking there was a small chance they would take Jonathan Stewart.

Well, when they took Steve Slaton with their second 3rd round pick I was excited. I was familiar with what he'd done in college and I knew they'd gotten great value for the pick.

I must admit, I never thought he'd be a Pro Bowl alternate his first year. Way to go, Steve. Way to go, Texans!

Hey, this team is in 3rd grade learning multiplication and learning about the alamo. Grows up so fast, doesn't it?

But have they been to the Alamo and had the class picture infront of it?

Oh that would be sweet!!!! Nothing would be more Texan then having the TEXANS take the team pic in front of the Alamo.

OR
you could check the "all-time" stats of whatever team you wish and see what their numbers were at the 7-year mark.
In 5-10 years I expect we'll have a super bowl appearance or three.
...but I'm a homer.

Yeah, but when you look at it that way Cecil Sapp is 4th and Chris Brown is 7th.

Hell, this year alone put Turk 5th on the all time list for rushing with that scamper in Green Bay and 5th for passing with that incompletion on a botched FG attempt!!!!!!!

What's even better news is that Oakland has the second worst run D in the NFL. If he could get 100 against Tennessee twice, there's no reason he shouldn't get 64 against Oakland.
