I'm not trying to get clever and come up with a deep snapper or a gunner on special teams or something like that. I'm going with the guy who had as much to do with the win as anyone. That guy is center Chris Meyers.
Meyers has had his fair share of problems with bigger, stronger players who have played on the nose, over him. Today, however, Meyers had one of his best games as a Texan, playing with good technique and holding his own against one of the better interior linemen in football. While Meyers made his share of mistakes, he more than made up for them with his play against the Browns.
I was expecting Meyers to have way more losing plays than winning plays, but in reality, Meyers won many more battles (and that includes heads up against Rogers) than probably his own coaching staff expected. Hopefully Kubiak will address Meyers play in Monday's press conference.
