Does not suck! We were just talking about how great our offense was last week. He got hurt made a bad INT, he did not look that bad at all!

I agree that he doesn't suck, disagree that he didn't look bad today. That pass to Leach should've been an easy six but he shorted it horribly.

He tried to throw it but he didn't have his leg drive to get it there since his knee was messed up. He made the right decision but due to his knee he couldn't get it done, compare that to Sage's int.

Yeah so if you can't make the throw then don't throw it. I know he was hurt so he should've played it safe. I'm tired of our QB's attempting risky plays that end up giving the opponent the ball.

Thats exactly the problem. We can't count on him to stay healthy like we can't count on Sage to win the game with a 17 point lead with 5 minutes left. We have no QBs, just a bunch of chumps.

I am going to really hate using another draft pick on a QB.... which will probably bust like every other QB we had.

Hagar

Drink up yall, its the Texans!
No, he sucks. If we're measuring Schaub by what he does against the Detroit or Cincinnati, then we need to adjust our priorities. When Schaub faces a good defense like Minnesota or Tennessee, he coughs up the ball 3 times. He sucks.

And I'm off the Sage wagon as well. It looks like we have two backups for starters. One of these two will have to make a big step forward or we'll have to bring in some serious competition for them over the off season.

Never said he "sucks" or he's "great"......he's probably somewhere inbetween, but it doesn't matter, becuase one thing I have said is..

HE CAN'T STAY HEALTHY, so it really doesn't matter what the hell he is....it's "where he is", and that's on the sideline.

Matt is good yes but Can he stay upright ***NO*** Thus hes damanged goods just like Green

A damanged goods needs to be shown the back door

Carr stayed here for 5 years becasue at least he could stay healthy

if this keeps going maybe Matty will have 3 years

Here is a new brilliant idea: Give him some protection!!!!

Its his fault that he cant stay healthy because he gets sacked?
No.

Every QB in this league gets sacked so that's not really a valid argument.

Could it be just plain bad luck....yes, but Houston did give up some of the fewest sack totals last season and he was still in and out of the lineup with injuries.......when on the flip side (hate to say this) you have somebody like David Carr who got piledrived into the ground every other passing play, but he kept getting up. Carr was durable.......about the only thing he had going for him.

Winston a pretty good vet

Both our tackles got beat like a drum all day long. God, did you see Ray Edwards(who?) abused Winston and threw him down like a rag doll in the 1st quarter. The inside protection wasn't any better either.

we will just live and die on are WR is guess

The loss is on the offense today. Both Schaub and Rosenfels made huge mistakes at crucial points in the game. O-line was terrible and even I could've probably sacked the qb today with the way the interior was penetrating our line. Tough loss but I don't see the need for drastic changes. But I will say though again that the running plays were suspect. Why did the Texans insist on running running right up the middle of the Vikings when you know that's where their strength is??? Didn't make any sense to me.

I thought I was the only one...

It looked like IMO...i'm not a football genius...but IMO it looked like the Vikings got pressure with their front 4...and if you can get pressure with 4 guys...you can focus on the pass which is our strentgh and they took that away because they have a better Dline than we have a Oline.

Quoted for truth.

It's why I have Schaub Radley as my avatar. Matt, on the sideline, looks like Boo Radley from "To Kill A Mockingbird." He looks like the sickly kid whose parents have kept inside his whole life.

Of course, Sage is...well, he's Rosencopter.

So we're pretty much screwed until we can obtain a QB who knows how to win under PRESSURE. Consistently.

I stand by my assertion that Matt Schaub is not going to hack it. He looks good against mediocre defenses, but he crumbles like gingerbread under pressure. Pure fact. And you say, "Well, so does Sage." So damn what! The propped up QB King (Matt) isn't supposed to be worse than Sage. LOL. But there he was, watching from the sideline again.

The Vikings defense didn't have as much pep in their step with Sage taking the snaps. They started covering Texans receivers more than trying to blitz Sage. The blitzing subsiding considerably, I'd say, without even looking at the actual play-by-play.

Matt has legs of sand in the pocket.

Oh, and I think I deserve a freaking apology from all the posters here who bullied me all last week for DARING to even question the 3-straight-game winning streak. Where'd we end up? Falling flat, on the road, against a beatable team.

4-straight games at home, against piss poor teams, will do wonders for your record fellas.

This offense is POTENT. It's clicking. But the setback at QB, both of 'em, is glaring. Isn't it?

Done.

Making fun of them?

How about this: I'm trying to have some freaking LEVITY considering the fact that our QB situation is absurd.

What else am I going to do? Pretend we're just a few plays away from being a legitimate NFL team? I prefer to live in reality 90% of the time, and during that 90% of the time Im going to do whatever I can to lighten the harshness of said reality.

Didn't know you were the fan police.

The Vikings have the best D-Line in the NFL, hands down. We have a rookie LT and an average RT. Of COURSE the QB's were going to get manhandled. But when it comes down to it, we were in the game right up into the last 30 seconds against a VERY good defense. Sure, the QB's made a couple of bad mistakes, but I still pin this on the defense for allowing Gus Frerotte to look like Dan Marino in his prime.

so whats the verdict on next year do we give Matty another Go or do we kick him to the curve ??????

right now hes making a good case for himself to be kicked to the curve IMO

this is the mid way point of the season BTW

Killed by pitts
Killed by tenn
PLayed even with Jaxs
Didnt play wk 4
played even with Fins
beat a loser team
beat a loser team
and injured by half in Minn

thats not a very good report card IMO

Well we still have a lot of season left. If we go with right now...might as well keep him because we have much bigger needs than just QB. Our interior Oline isn't very good...which is why we get destroyed by 3-4 teams and teams with good DTs...and our secondary...as usual....sucks. Our front 7 has improved and our Reciving players do a great job of winning/keeping us in games. I just see much bigger needs than QB right now.

I think it comes down to wether Matt is worth the cap hit or not. He can be cut next year with no implications.

May want to sign a cheap game manager until the 2010 NFL draft when guys like Sanchez and Bradford will come out as seniors

I think we need secondary help more than anything...I know the frustrations with the QB but I mean if we are going to keep Matt...lets at least get a defense, a good safety could really turn around our defense, look at what Reed/Polamalu/Sanders do for their teams. We may draft high enough to get one too :(

There is nothing wrong with our tackles.......Brown is a rookie so he's going to get better and there is nothing wrong with Winston. Trust me the FO is definetely not looking for his replacement.....even probowl tackles struggle against some matchups sometimes, this is the NFL...you're not going to kick ass every Sunday, especially against a Dline like that.

However I do think we need a new Center.....I was never on Myers bandwagon (after I saw how easily he was moved during preseason), he's too light in the pants and gets tossed around like a doll.

If anything Houston needs a new center and RG......tackles are fine.

As far as keeping our TE in to block....he's not going to be there to pick off the fat boys coming up the middle. Owens was much more helpful and keeping our QBs safe as a emergency outlet pass option when they were under pressure.......he saved them more then a few times by getting open in the middle of the field, which is why he had a big day.

I am beginning to agree with Haynesworth re: Schaub. I'll give him until the end of the year to set his legacy, but if it's more of the same, I think the team has to start prepping for the future.

Yes so Myers and Winston are the week links

guess its back to Chris white has center and give the semi rookie Rashad butler a chance to take winston spot

at least we will know where he stands

Winston is NOT a weak link on the line........that's what I'm trying to say. He's our most consistent and arguably our best lineman, he just had a bad day.....it happens.

Chris Myers sucks and we could upgrade the RG position....everybody else is pretty solid.

In my opinion Schaub has shown his true colors against a decent defense again. Sure he does well against the Lions and Bengals but put him up against the Vikings or Steelers and he stinks it up like today.

I dont understand how Sage gets labeled as a mental mistake QB when Schaub throws a pick and fumbles in 1/2 a game. Oh and Schaub led our team to 0 points today. Go team.

He routinely gets pushed around .... he just doesnt have the size to play in the NFL.

But it's Matt Schaub. Don't you get it?

(Pssst! If you DO find out, let me know. I've been dying to figure it out myself)

Bottom line is that Schaub is too fragile. He's basically had just a handful of good games in the last two seasons combined. The rest he's either been lousy or hurt. Poor Sage just makes too many bone-headed mistakes. We need to draft another quarterback. That's it. Period.

Schaub needs a better running game to offset the pocket pressure in passing situations, the line can only give you four seconds or so to get rid of it when the defense knows its a pass. plain & simple the Texans have not invested enough in the backfield to help the QB, doesn't matter really if its Matt, Sage or 1st rd. draft pick Kubiak & Co. know they lack a balanced attack :ski:

Because he was injured. Make the point that he's FRAGILE, and proooobably no one will argue with you, since thus far, that's what he's been. Playing with a gimp knee was what caused the offense to stall all those times, as well as the underthrown ball and the even worse than normal mobility.

THAT'S why.
