Tired of complaining. I support my Texans.

Fire Gary Kubiak? No, Kubiak is a good coach, and I am tired of complaining. I'm going to support him. I think most of the people out there know that Kubiak coached a good game today. I think everyone knows that this team, regardless of record, is a better team.

Fire Richard Smith? No, our defense played great today. We need to chill out and stop calling for people's heads. I just don't want to hear it for the next 11 weeks or whatever.

Sage sucks? No, he made a couple of mistakes. The guy played great today, and he just made a couple of mistakes while trying to play his heart out. He's feeling bad enough without the fans dumping on him. So many people were playing up the quarterback controversy, and now everyone is saying he sucks. He's our backup, and we almost beat the Colts with him as our starter.

I'm not trying to start arguments. In fact, I just want to point out that this is our team. We are Texans fans! They need our positive support right now. No more negative posts from me. I know that it is your right to constructively criticize them, but I am going to pray for them. The guys are playing hard and having no luck, and the last thing they need is fans berating them.

I get where you are coming from and honestly agree with a lot of your points but to say the team needs us to to be positive etc. in order to win.... well if that's the case they need to get tougher mentally. They are professionals and hopefully they play like professionals for the rest of the season and we can play spoiler a few times and beat some teams down the stretch. Mentally tough teams also should be able to play better on the road and not blow a gimme win like that but in all honesty I really do think we wind up winning more games than a lot of people think from here on out.

0-4 is no one's fault. They all try so hard.

Having said that, as much as this team pisses me off some(most?)times I don't think I'll be able to not follow them. I just won't be losing that much sleep win or lose.

I agree...this is not an 0-4 team, but they are.

I'll never leave my Texans. I had to field phone call after phone call from Cowboy fans rubbing it in saying "Come over to a winner" and crap like that.

These lean times will just make it more enjoyable later on. We have good players and the last two weeks have encouraged me. We just need to learn to close things out. Nine times out of 10 Sage doesn't cough that up if he just slides. He was trying to get a first down to keep the ball.

He manned up for everything (had no choice) in the presser afterwards. I felt for him because he's a solid backup trying to make the most of his chances.

I will NEVER bail on the Texans, but at the same time, those of us that stay have a right to be frustrated. Let's just go beat the Dolphins, which won't be a cinch either.

This team is what it is, and that is 0-4. No amount of excuses, what-ifs, or should-have-beens will change that. And I am tired of deluding myself into believing they're better than they are.

They are 0-4. Period.

I try every summer to throw water on some of the over the top predictions....and this is the reason why. Come October when things don't work out...it hurts and hurts bad. I didn't get sucked in today. As well as they were playing, I kept feeling the St. Louis game from a couple of seasons ago. What was the back ups name Fitzgerald or something...remember ? They'll learn some good lessons form this game. Don't take the foot off the peddle even with a seventeen point lead. Don't try to do to much when you got the dog down with your boot on his throat. It's ok to punt the ball. There are a lot worse things that can happen than punting. Fine idea to get the first like Jacksonville did to us last week. But Sage is no Garrard. Take care of the ball and give yourself a chance to win. Same thing happened to Jacoby Jones last year. Made a great return and tried to do to much with it after sixty-four yards. Ended up getting himself hurt. Lost him for, well it's been a year now. They just need to play smarter. Meaner. They're just too nice. And at critical times in the game they loose their collective minds for some reason..

Sooner or later they will all get tired of getting stomped and being laughed at and someone is going to pay. Teams are seven for seven against us on fourth down attempts..they ain't going to stop until we stop them ...once. 100% probability...only a fool wouldn't roll the dice on that one. Defense better learn to be viscous and learn quick. Going to be a heap of forth down tries the rest of the way if they don't man up.

I followed the Oilers through rougher times, so I won't be bailing on the Texans in the foreseeable future.

As the OP said, Sage was trying to make some plays so he can't be faulted for that. Of course he should have protected the ball better, and in hindsight I'm sure he would have, but he didn't and...well, you know the rest.

When were these "rougher times" you speak of? At best, we're tied with the lowest of the Oiler lows.

It was very heart wrenching, but its time to let it go and move on. There are 12 games left and we have shown in the last 2 weeks we can play with the best. Stop the Sage bashing. Yes his competitive spirit and adrenaline in the moment overshadowed his common sense on the one play, but without him we would not have been 8-8 last year, and with 12 games we will probably going to need him again this year.

This mentality might have been nice 3-4 years ago but when it happens year after year, its time for fans to vent and not accept b.s. anymore. Look at the dolphins schedule and they have found a way to win 2 games. Right now this is unacceptable.

Yep, they are 0-4 and not worth a ****. That's for sure. But, I will continue to watch and cheer for them even if they go 0-16.

Now of course I'll be doing a LOT of bitching along the way if they pull something like that, but it doesn't mean I'll ever quit supporting them or cheering for them. Who else am I going to root for if I live in Houston?

And if anyone says the Cowpatties they can kiss my ass, because the Texans might not be worth a dime right now, but they are from Houston the the Cowgirls are NOT!

My voice is wrecked and I was absolutely devastated. It was the best this team has ever played. We played like a Superbowl team for 56 minutes. I'm crushed.

However, this team has played very well 2 weeks in a row. The record is abysmal. The mistakes are frustrating as is the inability to finish. However, we've lost 4 games as clear underdogs and are now playing better than I thought we would. If this team doesn't quit, it's still going to finish with 8 or 9 wins!

Now I'm going to go lick my wounds.

Typical Texans fan:

January- Who's in the draft?
Feb-April- This guy could help us move to the next level
May-August- I think we'll go 9-7 and get the wildcard
September- Just a rough start, we'll do well, I know it
October-November- We suck! Fire everyone!
December- That was a great game. I love the Texans.

Rinse and repeat.

Go texans, it's now just a 12 game season. A .500 team, no. We gotta move forward into next year. I'll be here throghout the week and at reliant when they play no matter what.

QFT!!

Who can remember the Oilers 1 win season followed by a 2 win season, followed by a 3 win season, then two consecutive 5 win seasons (1981-1986)??? Talk about brutal...

Any mention of that game and folks around here have to start hiding all of the sharp objects...

Well, somebody should've hid my remote yesterday. It's now destroyed.

I sent my wife to the game with my ticket yesterday and I was really upset that I couldn't go before game time. Now....Eh, not so much. I'd hate to imagine what would've taken the place of my remote.

Don't know where you're going with that but its not an 'excuse'... It's an 'observation' made by many here.

All I meant was that its depressing as heck to live in a city where we can lose by 4 after being up 17 with 4 minutes to go and people can honestly say "Its not the worst this team has done to us"

The media will never allow us to forget. This dismal loss is definitely within the top 5 after 35-3.

This town is cursed when it comes to football!!

Which is why I said that.

This is pathetic. All this acceptance of losing makes me want to puke. That whole mentality has permeated this team from the very top right down to the fans.

All the rest of you can pretend that it's all sunshine and light, but we just were made a lauighingstock for all the world to see - again.

Exactly what will it take for some of you people to wake up and stop supporting this trash? Until we do, Mcnair is just going to roll out the same old **** on bread and pass it off as filet mignon.

Porky, I agree with you. Groundhog Day acceptance of every year turning out the same while someone says "you work hard" with a slap on the back is not inspiring. I hate Dicky Justice but he said something today like.."would Jerry Jones accept this?" I know most hate the Boys but being a Boys fan, this stuff wouldn't be widely accepted. Seats are empty and this whole "we're almost there" mentality is for losers. Supporting a team doesn't mean unapologetic acceptance of crap. You can be displeased and still be a fan.

I agree a 100% with you Jerry wouldn't stand for this and heads would roll or players gone.

What next? We get to hear how we can "wreck havoc" with potential playoff teams?

It's the loser mentality that permeates this franchise. I'm not going to stop being a Texans fan, but I'm not going to be a happy Texans fan at the moment. Anyone want to call me out on that can kiss my 0-4 a to the double ss.

This team lacks the ability to seal the deal. Sage is responsible for yesterday's debacle, without a doubt. But why did he feel the need to go above and beyond and be a playmaker with a 10 point lead and only 3 minutes left in the game? Was he trying to compete for the starting job, or is something deeper about the mindset of being a Texan right now? And while I'm not blaming Kubiak, why did he call a bootleg instead of just running the ball like 98% of teams out there would do to eat some clock and force Indy to use their last timeout?

I was entertained for 3 hours of competitive football. That's all I ask of my football team. Winning is just a bonus.

Man your easy. Can I sell you a used car? I mean it doesn't run worth a crap, but the stereo is good so you will have a good time listening to it parked in your drievway.

My two pennies. (I think I say this once or twice every year.)

It's football. I love winning as much as the next guy. I've played sports competitively for the majority of my life.

But the Texans? They're not "my team." I'm not out there on the field with them and I have zero influence into how they play the game. I support them, yes. I want them to win. I watch them regularly. I celebrate when they win and it irritates me when they find ways to lose.

But at the end of the day, football is entertainment and when it's no longer entertainment, I'll find something else to do with my time.

I can understand the anger coming from folks who spend thousands of dollars a year on season tickets, memorabilia and the rest of it and are receiving an 0-4 return on that investment ... although I'm willing to bet that a lot of the complainers on here don't. I can't put that kind of money into it, but for those who feel that's a good use of their hard-earned dime, I can understand that anger.

Me personally? If the game sucks, change the channel.

I'm not putting any one down, just adding my view to the fray. :thisbig:

Go Texans!!!!! I am gonna catch alot of grief around SA but go Texans. I wonder how nay marriages almost ended after that game?
