So if we're forced to have the Colts game at Rice, how will they handle the ticket situation? Will we be able to turn our Reliant tickets over for comparable tickets, or what? Anyone have a clue?

It was reported over the weekend that the Texans will more than likely play at Reliant stadium for the rest of the season with the roof open.

Cool, I missed that. Did they mention the drainage problem where you read that?

"Open air situation is our best case scenario that we are shooting for."

Guinn added, even with the roof open, the stadium can handle bad weather.

"The stadium was designed for taking rain," Gunn said. "There is one area of the stadium with the panel section that is over a fixed part of the roof that wasn't designed for that, but if we can move the roof panel back at some point here soon, that will cover that section and we should be okay there."

Not only would Rice have been a ticket nightmare, can you imagine the parking fiasco? I shiver just thinking about it.

As long as they are able to roll the roof back, which I've heard there's no structural or mechanical damage from preventing them to do so, then they play with the top popped the rest of the season.

Parking wouldn't have been any worries... Obviously Handi-Cap parking would take precedence and then naturally Blue Crew would get the rest of the spots.... :fans:

Bullpen side took the most damage, on the north part of the stadium.

From today.....

HOUSTON -- Houston Texans owner Bob McNair says he would be "shocked" if his team doesn't play its home opener at hurricane-damaged Reliant Stadium on Oct. 5.

The stadium's retractable roof lost five sections in the storm and officials said large pieces of debris had fallen into the stadium during Hurricane Ike. The roof probably won't be fixed in time for the game against Indianapolis, but McNair said that game and the remaining home games could be played with the roof open.

"We fully expect that we'll play the Colts in Reliant Stadium," he told The Associated Press. "Probably the rest of the year we'll play and use Reliant as an open-air stadium. It was designed to operate that way, either open or closed so we'll get to enjoy it open for a while."
