Default Texans and learning to win with time

Good morning fellas. I think Texans are gonna make the right moves and have a great draft this off season. Reed was a big sign. I think Texans just have to go thru a learning curve and that might of been a lost to New England to thre post season. Unless a major injury happens in off season the sky is the limit for this team.

The loss of Cushing was huge. I believe that our season all depends on how he returns to the field, and if he can stay healthy. Our defense became suspect after he went down.

El Tejano I agree. Never want to use injury bug as a excuse but when the best linebacker goes down on team that is a big blow. Lot of folks seem to forget that.

Are you for real. All this time I thought qb was the most the most important position on the field.

The Texans need to learn how to phase new players in, keep the ones worth keeping until the new players area ready, and have contingencies for busts. Over the past two seasons, the Texans have replaced:

Winston with Newton - Newton beat out Butler, and wasn't as good as Winston even then.

Brisiel with Caldwell/Jones/Brooks - I think the Texans were on the right track here, but they either waited a year too long to phase in the new guys (and/or draft the new guys, as applicable), or they let Brisiel go too early (FA, but they knew it was coming).

Dreesen with Graham - this had to happen, but Graham doesn't seem to have the knack for big plays that Dreesen did. Should have phased in Graham a year earlier, IMO.

Ryans with Bradie James - this was just a disaster. If they thought they were going to trade away Ryans, they should have damn well had a better replacement plan than Bradie James. I don't know anyone who thought that was going to work.

Quin with Reed - A lateral replacement at best, due to scheme and age. If they draft a hot prospect this year and work him in, this will be a good plan. If they draft a guy in the second round and then sit him for two years (Harris), then it'll be a disaster.

The Texans have lost a lot of talent the last couple years, and I don't see them really replacing it. Mercilus might turn out to be an OK player, but he didn't jump off the screen at me last season, despite having five sacks, or whatever it was. Sharpton's been a bust, Harris has been a bust, Caldwell was a bust, and Tate has been a coach caused bust. They played Foster completely differently last year. They gave him way too many carries and he was no threat out of the backfield like he was the year before. That was because of Tate/Kubiak/whatever drama they have going on.

They finally got to the point where they have elite talent, now they need to learn to keep some of it and transition to new players with the same talent level like the consistently good teams do.

We just need to keep moving forward. It took the Ravens 5 trips into the postseason (with Harbaugh/Flacco) to win the Super Bowl. Hopefully it won't take us that long.

What drama are you speaking of? Never heard this....
