It has the Texans taking Robert Woods, but more importantly it has Star Lotulelei falling to number 18. Did something come out about him I'm not aware of? If he falls that far I hope we trade up and grab him.

I saw Star play a few times this year and personally I wasn't all that impressed. With the way the league is transitioning it just seems like he could be very easily taken out of games. JMO though of course.

I would rather take Goodwin with the supp 3rd than Woods in the 1st/2nd.

A Rodgers/Goodwin 2nd/3rd rd picks would add fireworks to a dormant offense.

Goodwin is going to light up the combine. (Probably set records in the long jump/40.) And he's a football player 1st. He can run most of the route tree and had the best hands of any UT WR. IMHO. His only downside is that he's short.

If you like Austin in the 1st you should love Goodwin in the 3rd. Lets revisit this thread after the combine. I'm calling my shot before the combine.

That's the very reason I think someone will use a pick on him in the second round. Not saying he deserves it, but he's played with some very average at best QBs in his time at UT while he was playing a lot. I believe Colt was there for one year, but he wasn't on the field much then if I remember correctly. I think teams will see this as a reason for his lack of production. He would definitely be our day 1 KO returner and add a speed element that's lacking right now.

That's why I think that this draft is very deep overall.
You don't have many close to complete guys, but a lot of them flash potentials.

I agree, Reid looks alot like Pollard. I'm worried that he's relied too much on his athleticism and doesn't have the mind/work ethic for the next level.

Cant see us passing on minter if he's there for us....what's more is that i can't see Hunter or Patterson not being taken...1 of those guys will go in the 1st. This guy woods has been low on the radar as far as WR prospects go....I see nothing in him that we don't already have in Devier Posey.....dude looks like Mike Wallace in a USC uniform....still like Hunter

1. LUKE JOECKEL OT TEXAS A&M
I believe the Chiefs would love to trade out of this pick, but I don't see that being an option. Joeckel is capable of playing either left or right tackle, depending on what happens with potential trade chip Branden Albert.

2. DION JORDAN DE OREGON
I'm sure the Jaguars will strongly consider Geno Smith, but I have them addressing their anemic pass rush with this selection. Look for them to target a quarterback at the top of the second round.

3. SHARRIF FLOYD DTFLORIDA
Floyd is a very disrupt ive defender against the run and the pass. I love the fact that he has both a high ceiling and a high floor. This is a safe, solid choice for the Raiders.

4. GENO SMITH QB WEST VIRGINIA
With this move, Chip Kelly would be getting a young quarterback who has experience playing in an up-tempo offense. Michael Vick's veteran presence will give Smith some time to sit and learn before taking the reins in Philly.

5. ERIC FISHER OT CENTRAL MICHIGAN
This decision will likely come down to two positions: pass rusher or offensive tackle. The need to protect Matthew Stafford prevails.

6. DEE MILLINER CB ALABAMA
I expect the Browns to bail out of this pick if one of the top three offensive tackles is still on the board. However, if they can't move back, Milliner would fill a huge void opposite rising star Joe Haden.

7. LANE JOHNSON OT OKLAHOMA
There has been plenty of chatter about the Cardinals passing on an offensive tackle in favor of a pass rusher. If they decide to go in that direction, Ziggy Ansah and Barkevious Mingo are two names to keep in mind.

8. TAVON AUSTIN WR WEST VIRGINIA
With the addition of Kevin Kolb, the Bills are free to take the best available player on their draft board. Austin is electric on tape, and his workouts have generated an extraordinary amount of buzz in NFL circles. This offense needs more playmakers, and Austin would be a great fit.

9. ZIGGY ANSAH DE BYU
The Jets need an explosive edge rusher, and that's exactly what Ansah can be for them. He's not an ideal outside linebacker, but Rex Ryan is creative enough to make it work.

10. JONATHAN COOPER OG NORTH CAROLINA
Though the Titans added Andy Levitre in free agency, I still see them drafting offensive linemen. Cooper gets the nod over Chance Warmack because of his athletic ability and positional flexibility (some teams believe his best spot is at center).

11. CHANCE WARMACK OG ALABAMA
I remain uninspired by the Chargers' free-agent acquisitions on the offensive line. Warmack would be a welcome addition to the effort to better protect Philip Rivers in 2013.

12. XAVIER RHODES CB FLORIDA ST.
The Dolphins have lost both of their starting cornerbacks over the past year (Vontae Davis was traded to the Indianapolis Colts while Sean Smith departed via free agency). Rhodes is a raw prospect, but his combination of size, length and speed is very intriguing.

13. TYLER EIFERT TE NOTRE DAME
This pick could very easily end up belonging to the New York Jets as part of a trade for Darrelle Revis. While the Bucs have a serious need at the cornerback position, it would be a reach to draft one here. Eifert could fit in beautifully with Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams lined up outside.

14. STAR LOTULELEI DT UTAH
If the Eagles pass on Lotulelei, he could easily slide into the Panthers' lap, making an excellent addition to Ron Rivera's defense.

15. BARKEVIOUS MINGO DE LSU
Mingo is a tricky player to evaluate. He has the tools to dominate, but his game tape leaves you wanting more. This would be a bit of a gamble, but the payoff could be huge for the Saints.

16. KENNY VACCARO SS TEXAS
The Rams added two cornerbacks in last year's draft; with Vaccaro aboard, they would have the makings of an outstanding young secondary.

17. JARVIS JONES OLB GEORGIA
The best way to sum up Jones: excellent in pads, horrible in shorts. His stock took a bit of a hit following his pro day, but I don't see him falling too far, thanks to his proven ability to get after the passer.

18. SHELDON RICHARDSON DT MISSOURI
This decision could come down to two players: Richardson or D.J. Fluker. Richardson would be an ideal fit in defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin's scheme.

19. D.J. FLUKER OT ALABAMA
If the Cowboys pass on Fluker, I don't think he'll have to wait much longer to hear his name called. He could either play at right tackle or slide inside to play guard for the Giants.

20. SYLVESTER WILLIAMS DT NORTH CAROLINA
There is a lot of excitement building around Williams. Don't be surprised if he ends up being selected much higher than here.

21. ERIC REID FS LSU
Reid, who was very good on tape in 2011 but struggled in 2012, is a tough one to figure out. The Bengals love high-ceiling prospects from power programs, and Reid fits that profile.

22. CORDARRELLE PATTERSON WR TENNESSEE
Patterson has freaky athletic ability, but his limited experience (only one season at Tennessee) has some teams concerned. He is a true "boom-or-bust" prospect.

23. MANTI TE'O ILB NOTRE DAME
With Jasper Brinkley gone, the Vikings have a need at middle linebacker. Te'o would be a Day 1 starter who could fit in easily, considering the number of former Notre Dame players on the Vikings' roster.

24. CORNELLIUS CARRADINE DE FLORIDA ST.
This might be a little high for a player coming off of knee surgery, but Carradine is a rock-solid football player when healthy. The Colts need to add some youth and size at the outside linebacker position; Carradine would bring both elements.

25. JESSE WILLIAMS DT ALABAMA
The Vikings could elect to reel in a wideout with this selection, but there will be plenty of options at that position later on in the draft. Kevin Williams is no longer the dominant player he once was; Jesse Williams would fortify the interior of the Vikings defensive line.

26. JOHN CYPRIEN FS FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
Cyprien is one of my favorite players in the draft. He is physical, instinctive and productive. Most evaluators have him going in the second round, but he could sneak his way into the bottom of the first.

27. ALEC OGLETREE ILB GEORGIA
I could easily see the Texans selecting Keenan Allen with this pick, but not if Ogletree is somehow still on the board. Houston's front seven is loaded with rangy athletes who have exceptional play speed, and Ogletree would fit right in.

28. BJOERN WERNER DE FLORIDA ST.
The Broncos don't have many glaring needs on their roster, but they could always use more pass rushers, especially following the departure of Elvis Dumervil.

29. JAMAR TAYLOR CB BOISE ST.
Taylor is an excellent cornerback with good size, quick feet and fluid hips. He played well on tape, shined at the Senior Bowl and put together an outstanding workout at the NFL Scouting Combine.

30. DESMOND TRUFANT CB WASHINGTON
Finding the eventual replacement for Tony Gonzalez at tight end should be a consideration at some point during this draft, but the Falcons must address the cornerback position early on.

31. ZACH ERTZ TE STANFORD
Niners coach Jim Harbaugh has first-hand knowledge of Ertz, having recruited and coached him at Stanford. With Delanie Walker gone, the 49ers could use another tight end to pair with the über-talented Vernon Davis. San Francisco can address its need at safety with one of its next few picks.

32. MATT ELAM FS FLORIDA
Elam might lack ideal size, but he's an instinctive and explosive football player. The Ravens lost both starting safeties this offseason, and Elam seems like their type of defender.

OVERVIEW
Throughout much of Taylor's career it has been the Boise State offense that has earned the headlines, but in large part due to the stellar play of their redshirt senior cornerback, the Broncos' defense came to the forefront in 2012.
The Broncos finished the regular season ranked fourth in the country in pass defense and surrendered just three passing touchdowns all year. Taylor, who earned First Team All-Mountain West honors in 2012 with 51 tackles (including 3.5 for loss and 2.5 sacks) and a team-leading nine passes broken up and four interceptions, was the single biggest reason for this success.

Taylor proved himself to be a standout immediately for Boise State, registering 24 tackles and an interception as a true freshman. A knee injury forced him to redshirt the 2009 campaign, but he returned to win a starting position in 2010, posting 35 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and three forced fumbles.

He missed four full games and most of a fifth a year later with a stress fracture in his leg. He returned from the injury to compete against Arizona State in the 2011 Las Vegas Bowl, returning a Brock Osweiler interception 100 yards for a touchdown.


ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS: Instinctive, dependable cornerback with good overall size and athleticism. Versatile corner with extensive experience playing off-man and zone coverage. Possesses a quick, tight back pedal and has fluid hips to turn and run with receivers.
Good straight-line speed and possesses good burst out of his breaks. Reportedly was timed at 4.33 seconds in the 40-yard dash by Boise State coaches.

Breaks quickly on underneath routes, showing the ability to close on the ball to make the interception. Good ball skills, including good leaping ability and timing. Good upper body strength and competitiveness for jump-ball situations.

Reliable run defender who doesn't back down from a challenge. Keeps his containment responsibilities, showing the ability to break free from blocks and is a reliable open field tackler who plays with toughness. Named a team captain in 2012 and is viewed by the coaching staff as one of the team's hardest workers.


COMPARES TO: Ronde Barber, DB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Needless to say, Taylor has a long ways to go before a comparison to long-time standout Barber is earned, but they share several similarities, not the least of which is good instincts, a burst to close, reliable open-field tackling ability and a strong work ethic.
