I mostly agree with this, except for Clutts. I think we keep him for FB depth.

I think Walter stays, but it will be his last season with us. I see our WR landscape changing over the next couple of seaons.

Ya it's going to have to change. AJ isn't getting any younger, and his game is different now. Walter is still a good blocker, but brings less and less in the passing game. You may be right. They might hang on one last year. It's too close to call imo. They could cut bait. Need to see what we get from FA and the draft.

Hopefully Posey will come back healthy, and Martin can improve. I think those guys are the future, I just think we need one more guy in the draft or FA and we could be dominate again.

Maybe a couple of years from now, we can draft a WR in round 1, and set up for Johnson retiring. You can't replace Johnson, but it will soften the blow if we know who our number one is going to be when he goes.

Tate will get traded. Teams need good RBs, and I would almost bet a dollar that the guy wants a trade. Too much awkwardness this past season.

Jean is not going anywhere. Especially now that Posey is done for the 2013 season.

Ninja might be a cap casualty.

Walter's only shot to make the 53 after preseason is if the WR corps of AJ, Jean, Martin and Maehl (sp?) pushes him out. But...injuries happen, and in a flash a guy like KW is on the 53.

Sharpton is probably gone.

I dont see Tate getting moved , his value is as low as its ever been and teams can find a comparable player late in the draft on the cheap. The time to move him was last offseason. That ship has sailed.

Jean probably sticks around only because of Posey's injury - Unless they bring in an upgrade early in the draft or via FA. I think he's the guy most at risk of being unemployed of this list.

Walter will play out this season .... and wont be the guy cut in the event another WR is brought in.

Ninja .... his contract is a mess for the cap. I could see him being extended a couple years spreading that money out some. But I dont see him gone. (Same thing Isaid about Demeco last year FWIW).


Sharpton cant stay healthy .... but played well enough when he was on the field. Tough call but I think he sticks around one more year even if they resign Dobbins and draft or sign a FA ILB.


Probably need to take a look at the impact of dead money against the cap for each of these players , this is a big reason I think they extend Ninja to avoid $9m in dead money.

I'm not sure Tate is worth much as trade bait. One good season in three won't get you a good draft pick. He'll be back.

I don't see Posey coming back this year. Not with a torn Achilles. And being a WR means it will be very hard for him to ever come back the same. Don't like being so negative but my guess is Posey may be done!

Also, the only way Walter gets cut is if they pick up a veteran FA (No $$ to get a good one.) or they draft 2 WR in the early rounds (Probably not happening.) There are no big stars like AJ, Julio Jones, Megatron, etc.. in this draft. The Texans should, and probably will, draft at least one solid WR in the early to mid rounds. How early? Don't know. I like Terrance Williams in the 1st. Just don't think the Texans will go that route.

Thats a very real possibility .... and why I believe they will address the position with either a significant draft pick (1-2) or a strong FA signing.

They are 1 WR short with Posey down for the count .... That opens the door for him to remain even if they draft or sign a FA WR. Now if they draft or sign more than one .... Yeah he's a goner but I dont see more than one with all the other issues and 21 FA's to resign / replace.

I agree with above. I would like to keep Ninja based on what I think he brings to team in attitude. I think he has heart and they need players like this. If someone knows more about how Ninja is perceived on team I would be interested in hearing. It seems as though the Texans like to get rid of players that have heart and attitude, Pollard and Meco for instance.

I think this team needs leaders and I really don't see any veteran leadership on this team. Who is there?

I really hope that we don't lose Ninja. I cant recall ever hearing Clutts' name once during a game. I think KW will stick around for depth, hopefully just for depth, because we draft a WR early in the draft.
