Monte Kiffin could be Boys new D Coordinator

Many sources today but sounds like its close. Not sure the Tampa 2 works with the players we have and he is 72 so not sure what is happening here.

Per a source, if Kiffen comes to Dallas..he will not force cover 2 scheme in secondary..will let Carr and Claiborne do what they do best

Cowboys believe in Kiffen's NFL track record not his struggles in the college game..two different games.

Jerry Jones wanted to make a splash hire..Monte Kiffen would fit the bill if this was 2003 not 2013.

Monte Kiffin is in Dallas right now to interview for the Cowboys DC opening. It doesn't appear club will be able to speak to Ray Horton.

He now IS their new DC. They will certainly be making the shift to a 4-3. I think they have the personel to do it. I think Ware and Spencer are made for the 4-3 anyway

Kiffin has agreed to become the Cowboys’ next defensive coordinator, ESPN’s Ed Werder reports.

I don't mind the 4-3 shift...though I just read Spencer may be let go to save money with their cap issues...but we don't have great safeties and Carr and Claiborne aren't perfect for it but I'm sure they can work with it. I'll be interested to see how it works since Monte had some trouble stopping passing offenses in the college game.
