We kicked Winston to the curb like he was infected with Bieber fever, no warning...no goodbye....just released in a snap. We've heard zero about Quin, zero about Casey, and a couple of nuggets of syrup from Wade about Barwin today. What does that tell you? That when you leave us, you're NOT us. Not anymore. Business code of ethics for the Texans has become to say nothing of the ones you let walk and say nothing but high praise of who you want to sign. Focus is upon the NOW. And I sort of like it that way. Move on, go on, and leave the past players in the past and let them go be with their new team so we can talk about our new guys coming in. I think that's good strategy.

uh... yeah. The important part of my Vance Joseph paraphrase was that he said his role in Free Agency is to find replacements for the guys we might lose. They have no say in making offers to our FAs or in the negotiating. The coaches are instead working with the scouts to find players that will fit with what we're trying to do.

Elvis would have a much great impact on this team than Ed Reed. He's the kind of OLB bookend you want for several years, not just a one year stopgap. He would cost a bit, but we'll see what happens. It's probable that he just signs a new deal with the Broncos for what they had agreed to before missing the filing deadline. However, if he sees what Paul Kruger got, he may go for a deal like that. He could definitely garner more money than Kruger.

He didn't want to take the paycut, that's for sure. If the agent is "late" on filing that paperwork, Elvis gets his 12m guaranteed. Seems more like an intentional issue to me. He had a lot to gain if the Broncos slept on that deal.
