The most improved team and why?

Give me the most improved team in the nfl and tell me who makes them better

Eagles -- still can't win the big one
Patriots -- took a year to regroup
Vikings -- don't remember
Bucks -- you're kidding, right?
Texans -- only second year in the league, but expect vast improvement in the next two years
Raiders -- another joke, right?

My vote would go to the Dallas Cowboys (Roy Williams, Terrance Newman, Bill Parcells), the Carolina Panthers (Jake Delhomme, Stephen Davis, J. Peppers, John Fox) and Kansas City Chiefs (Dante Hall, Priest Holmes, Trent Green, **** Vermeil).

Not sure how the Pats or Panthers could be the most improved since they made it to the SB, but my answer is also none of the above as the Detroit Lions could surprise everyone this year and make the wild card because of the addition of Kevin Jones, Roy Williams, Teddy Lehmann, Tai Streets, Fernando Bryant, and Brock Marion (if he stays out of jail). Arizona and the Nutty Professor will also surprise IMO.

Vikings because they upgraded there pass rush with Udeze and got their shut down corner in Winfield. Their offense is already hard to stop.

I agree with aj. I think the lions are going to surprise alot of people. I've noticed on a few other team boards where they think the lions are going to be an easy win but I think Detroit's going to be tough. It's going to take a while for their guys to develope chemistry but they've had dramatic improvement in the offseason.

I think the Raiders rebound and end up about 9-7. They have added the best OT and best C from this draft. They will have a healthy Gannon and Porter. They rebuilt their DL (with Ted Washington and Warren Sapp), which was the weakness of the team. They added their QB of the future in Kerry Collins. Perhaps Charles Woodson can stay healthy for a full season. I like them to be much better this year.

On paper, Washington seems to be very much improved over the past season. Of course they are the perennial off season champs, so what does this stuff mean anyway? Still, they added 5 new starters on defense and 3 on offense. Sure they lost a playmaker in Champ Bailey, but they picked up 2 in Clinton Portis & Sean Taylor. Maybe the most important addition is Joe Gibbs as head coach. Unlike the previous Washington administration ( ), these guys are of professional caliber and understand what it takes to succeed. Bringing in Joe Bugel to school the Skins talented, but embattled, offensive line is an enormous addition.

But don’t forget about improvement from within. That’s the department where the Texans would rank very high in. Andre Johnson, Domanick Davis, Antwan Peek, Seth Wand, and Tony Hollings are entering their 2nd season and coming off their 1st full offseason in the Texans’ program. Yes, the Texans will have some star defenders returning. But, don’t forget the experience gained by guys like Faggins who were forced into action because of the injuries. I also like the addition of a QB coach to help aid in the development of Carr, especially on the sidelines on gameday. Really, I expect to see a major jump in the Texans play this season, particularly in winning games at Reliant. A 6-2 or even 7-1 home record is not out of the question considering just how tough a building it is for a visitor to play in.

Jacksonville should be on this list, but given that, I would still pick the Raiders to have the biggest turnaround this year. Remember they have the second farthest to improve (nobody is taking the Chargers) and the year before they where in the Superbowl. :hehe:

Honestly, I know that this is the official Texans board, but 11 of you homers think that we are the most improved? Who signed, Kearse and T.O. and stole a good OT in the draft, sent him to a nasal specialist who removed pollups from his nose so he can breathe now? Not us!!
Who signed Sapp, Kerry Collins, big Ted Washington, drafted the best OT to come out since Boselli? Not us!!
what did we exactly do that made us better than Philly or oakland? we're going to be starting a rookie CB and our other CB is coming of surgery for a serious groin pull. We have a rookie LB from a mid-major school who may be our pass rusher or may be our Keith Mcants. Our biggest moves were signing Wade and Smith, and BTW Payne still has not fully recovered from his ACL. Do you honestly think that signing those two is better for us than Philly getting Kearse and TO, or Oakland getting Sapp and Gallery and Collins? You guys are the same people who post threads like, " how would insert the name of some cast off problem player from another team here look in steel blue?" I find it highly unlikely that there is an Antonio Bryant on philly's or Oaklands site. Are we improved? certainly. are we the most improved? come on, why even put us on the list? I guess it is time to coin the phrase "steel blue colored glasses"

Anyways back to the thread. I dont think the Texans are the most improved. I think the Vikes did a great job. I like their draft, and I like their FA pickups. My fav. was Antoine Winfield. I think he will be the key to the vikes going into the playoffs. JMO.

They both had a ton of p.t. last year. They may not be Vincent and Taylor in their primes, but I think they will do fine. They are already starting SS Michael Lewis (2nd round pick in 2002) from that draft class. I have a feeling they will do alright there.

just for clarity DC, and to quash any further flaming, Antonio Bryant is a selfish punk ***, as is TO. TO is also a big-time, big-game Pro-Bowl reciever who has proven his worth on the field and is the first recieving option in any offense he is in. Bryant is .....not any of that. You see TO going to the Star in Dallas, signing footballs with Sharpies, and doing the pom-pom dance after, guess what, SCORING. TO has 8500+ recieving yards and 81 TDs in 8 seasons to back up his foolishness. that is a career average of 1072 yards and 10.125 TD per season. When Bryant averages like that then call me back. ( PA Bryant is currently at 641yds and 4 TDs / season BTW)
