You guys do a great job at organizing (Steph), setting up and showing support on road games. I am VERY jealous of those who were able to travel this year! I must say though, that i am disappointed in the fact that no one on here shares their stories, pics, videos from these trips. I enjoy hearing from people and their experiences, seeing video and pictures... but that is seriously lacking on here! Not sure if you guys are familiar with the Rockets fan site Clutchfans.net? they do a GREAT job of posting thoughts and sharing tidbits from their trips to road and even home games. Maybe we can use this thread to share with those like me who would love to hear about your trip...

I probably should have taken a lot more pictures along the way, but here's a few..
Games I've been to: @ Miami in 2003 ---- #80's first game. Texans win on pass to #80. South Beach party time. Also hit Florida @ Miami game at the Orange Bowl the day before. Stadium parking is a mess. Barely made kickoff. @ Chicago in 2004 ---- Super cold. Single digits with steady 25 MPH wind. Pregame beers freezing in the can faster than you could drink it. Weekend before Christmas in Chicago = awesome. Texans win. @ Buffalo in 2005 --- Drove all night to Buffalo after seeing Texas beat Ohio State in Columbus on Saturday. Scored tickets in Bills friends and family section. JP Losman looked like a Hall of Fame'er. Texans lose. JPL is benched about three weeks later. Buffalo Bills fans do not know how to use trash cans. Ralph Wilson Stadium stops selling beer after half time. @ San Fransisco in 2005 --- Reggie Bush Bowl. Cold and rainy. New Years Day(?) game. Scored free tickets in the parking lot. Overtime. Neither team wanted to win. Texans lost. Took Mario anyway. @ Green Bay in 2008 ---- Zero degrees when we arrived at the stadium. No wind. Everyone in GB pretends it's not cold. Packer fans love beer and are very friendly. Texans win. Primo seats. @ Tennessee in 2010 ---- Drove all night to get there at 10:00 AM. Scored free tickets and parking pass outside the stadium. TN fans were very nice. I almost puked when I saw the Oiler/Titan Hall of Fame. Texans lost. Texans D flagged for fighting amongst themselves. Beautiful day. Terrible game. @ New Orleans in 2011 ---- NOLA party plus football cannot be beat. Texans almost pulled of the upset, but didn't. Still a good time was had by all. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() bpe3 |

We went to the playoff game in Baltimore last season. It was so cold! We walked the Ravens Walk with the band (oops!) and had many rude comments. But it was super fun. We did get cursed out by a kid young enough to hold his dad's hand while walkin out (8-10yo).
Just wish we'd had a different outcome to that game. Visiting DC sights in Texans gear was cool. Everyone gave our team props and it was fun passing other traveling Texan fans as we changed planes and such. Ready to go to my 2nd away game in Indy next weekend! I'm guessing we won't have starters playing but it will still be fun to support the team and check out the town. |

Had a great time in Indy despite the disappointing loss. We stayed in the team hotel and wished every player and coach well as they left for the game. Our seat were in the end zone field level and great. Lucas Oil stadium is really nice. Everything in downtown Indy is walking distance. We walked from the hotel to the stadium completely indoors in their Skyway, which was nice since it was 16 degrees and icy everywhere. The stadium had way less food choices than us. There were 2 live band stages on the ground floor which was cool.
Colts fans were really really nice. Almost bizarrely so. Everyone had someone they knew in Texas or from Texas to chat with us about. The stadium is way quieter than Reliant although they got pretty loud after that kick off return. Every TD is celebrated with confetti drops over the stands which is pretty cool. They do the death gongs on every 3rd down and everyone gets up but they just don't get that loud. All in all, I would highly recommend attending a game here. Very few Texans fans were seen and at least 2 near us were escorted out by the police. |
