QB's who played each other quite a bit during the ERA in which they were present:
I'd say Brady-Manning is the best QB Battle we have going TODAY.... I'm hoping to see Carr-Leftwich develop into something..... Ya'll give me some others to throw out there |

Old times is Joe Namath vs. Johhny Unitis (sp?)
They combined for some crazy passing yardage when they faced each other.

I remember Dan Marino and Ken O'Brien (Jets) had some real shoot outs.
In one game, they combined for 927 yards and 10 tds. The Jets won 51-45 in OT. In a later game, Marino threw for 521 yards, but the Jets picked him off 3 times in the final 5:08 of the game to get the win 44-30. Here's a great link... scroll down to the late 80's for these games.

How about Young-Aikman, Elway-Moon, and Montana-Himself

Pastorini-Plunkett, started in High School, College, and they eventually ended up fighting for a job on the Raiders!

I would have to say Troy Aikman and Jim Kelly because they played in the Super Bowl against each other two years in a row in '93 and '94.

Elway and Marino both came in the league in '83 and both played for the same team for a number of years.
But despite all that, they hardly ever faced each other on the field. Weird how the scheduling formula the league used to keep that from happening. |
