Basically for anyone other than Janikowski it is at best a 50/50 proposition.

Having said that, looking to the next draft we are, absent trades. going to have 9-11 draft picks. Now is looking like a good time to spend a 4th or so on a young kicker if one is out there that looks like he could become your kicker for the next decade. Better a reliable starting kicker than someone to compete for 6th WR or another developmental QB.

Agreed. My first mock had a kicker in the 6th. Perhaps an earlier round than 6th?

Not really. Just didn't get to see much and leg injuries to kickers scare me. If the Texans are comfortable I am fine. I am just saying the Texans are well placed to spend a higher draft pick than you normally would on a kicker.

I have the texans taking a combo punter/kicker in the 5th or 6th in my upcoming mock.

Default Re: Shayne Graham

cost of another K for remainder of season would be cheap its time to sign a K who can hit a 45 plus yard FG and actually KO in the endzone Thie defense needs some touch backs to help field position.

FA Kickers
Ryan Longwell
Nate Kaeding
Neil Rackers
Olindo Mare
Josh Brown
John Kasay
Billy Cundiff
Dave Rayner
Justin Medlock
David Buehler
Garrett Lindholm

Looks like all the kickers left are either never-wases or they got a case of the yips and had to be put to pasture

Yeah but Ryan Longwell is still decent enough.

i would settle for a kicker who doesnt fold under pressure.. there is nothing redeemable about graham. hes shaky from mid-40s and is scared of the spotlight. if he was automatic under pressure it would be easier to deal with him not being able to drill 50 yarders.. i believe that is bullocks MO.. cold-blooded under pressure, average leg..

I can just see this ****ing guy costing us a game. I knew it right when Bullock got hurt that it's gonna come down to Graham doing something horrendous to cost this team.

Nothing against Graham, I just feel like it's been a couple years since the Kris Brown Escapades and that a return to losing games like that is very likely.

I don't get why these damn NFL teams don't just go into Eastern Europe and get some stone cold, unshakeable guy with an insane leg who couldn't quite cut it in soccer to be their placekicker. That's what I would do if I were an NFL GM.

Why Eastern Europe?
Brazil is closer.... and word on the street is they have pretty decent soccer players too.

....just offering an alternate suggestion

A groin injury generally refers to a strain of the hip abductor muscles which run from hip to knee on the inner thigh. I figure that falls within leg injuries.
